I really hope the fact that Redd and Esmeralda haven’t sold out does not discourage them from saving some for online as well in future D23 years. Really hoping it becomes the norm to have some stock go online! I really appreciated being able to buy them at retail this year! What do yall think?

For now, we know Lottie and Ariel are coming! I'm really curious to know which are the other 4 characters.

I'm hoping for Megara, Raps, Tiana or Cinderella 😌

With the release of the Haunted Mansion ladies and now Redd, I'd love to see more dolls of characters from the parks, whether they're completely original characters or characters from an IP that were made/given a new look specifically for the parks. A designer series with concept art as part of the box design would be pretty neat, especially since I can't imagine them making 16-17 inch dolls for everyone! Some I think would be neat (surprisingly most of them are male and I don't normally get male dolls!), feel free to share yours!:

Shaman of Songs (Na'vi River Journey) - I'm surprised they haven't done any Avatar dolls yet, and they can't use the minimal clothing as an excuse because there's been plenty of gorgeous capes/shawls/etc worn by the characters, which makes her a great choice. They could pose her uniquely in the box like they did with the Haunted Mansion Werecat and give her glow in the dark/under UV light details. And that sculpt would be so unique! Can you tell I'd want her the most lol

Dreamfinder (the original...and possibly future? Journey into Imagination) - He's already a fan favorite, and that big (but vague?) D23 reveal has people even more hyped. I think he'd make an adorable doll, and of course they have to include a little Figment!

John (Carousel of Progress) - Another fan favorite getting an update, it'd be a nice little tribute to the previous/"classic" version. His Act 1 (turn of the 20th century) look would probably be the best choice, especially since it was used for the meetable John at Disneyland After Dark. And like Dreamfinder, they could include a Rover!

Hondo Ohnaka (Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run) - His animatronic is one of the main things that finally got me into Star Wars, so why not? Much like the Shaman he's a very self indulgent pick he'd definitely make for a very interesting sculpt/doll. If not a designer one maybe they could finally continue the more affordable Star Wars line they were doing and make him a parks exclusive.

I’ve been watching ebay for all the new d23 drops. I unfortunately did not realize these dolls would even be available online, I thought it was in person only and that was why d23 dolls were always so expensive. I wont highlight everything, just some examples.

Back on point… Mia ears: $100-150, ample listings, listings not selling rapidly Milo & Kida doll: all of the listings were $400 and no biters

Immediately following the online sales? Mia ears: $300 and rapid purchases Milo & kida: listings jumped to $600-700, people panic buying the $500 listings.

Why? If it wasn’t worth it to people at the lower price, it’s certainly not worth the current prices. I know I’m beating a horse with this but there’s enough supply for prices to stabilize, there is no reason to panic buy while price gouging is at its peak… realistically these things will stabilize at their lower prices after the panic buyers have finished their purchases.

I was scrolling through ebay to see how much the dolls are going for & honestly, they're not too bad. If you didn't go to the expo & wanted a doll, a $200 markup isn't unreasonable.

The dolls were about $200 or $300 for the 2 set. The tickets to D23 were $100 & not the easiest to get. Plus the paid membership to get early access to buy them.

The virtual queue lines were terrible & you only had 1 chance to get in on Friday at 6am.

Then getting through the incredibly long lines through the nightmare that is D23 is tough.

Plus, don't forget the parking is not free.

Food and beverages are overpriced.

And ebay takes a huge chunk of what you pay.

Overall, these scalpers aren't really making money.

I know D23 just finished but thought it would be fun to start guessing what the exclusives will be for the next expo. I would love to see Anna and Elsa for Frozen’s 15th anniversary, Mulan for her 30th anniversary, Tinkerbell or a Peter and Wendy set for Peter Pan’s 75th anniversary, and Snow White for her 90th anniversary. Any predictions or hopes?

I was able to grab the ones I wanted, I was even able to get the Dalmatian dolls when the queue significantly reduced. I’m satisfied, but man, that hurts 😅hope everyone got the dolls they wanted!
