Harry and Meghan back to the the UK

Telegraph is saying it. That was the Camilla Tominey's special announcement. The children will go to school to the UK.

I guess, their American dream is over and so is our hope.

Turns out “financial independence” is harder when Netflix steps back, jam isn’t paying the bills and Harry has no discernible career. Thank goodness for the institution they fled — and the UK government underwriting up to £26M for Invictus. Welcome home! 🇬🇧

Oh Lord, Jesus Christ: "Earl Spencer to tell all about Diana's death: He plans 'historic' book to take on 'untruths' about her marriage to Charles and aftermath of Paris crash"

Earl Spencer has written a sensational memoir about his sister Princess Diana and the tumultuous aftermath of her tragic death, the Daily Mail can reveal.

Set to be published next month, 'Swan Song: Diana, My Sister' is a deeply personal account of his relationship with his sibling, which he has never told before.

The book, described as 'historic' and 'extraordinarily moving', is expected to cover Diana's childhood, her deeply unhappy 15-year marriage to the then-Prince of Wales, and the febrile days following her shocking death in a car crash in Paris in August 1997.

Announcing the news today, Earl Spencer, 62, said: 'With the 30th anniversary of Diana's tragic death on the skyline, I've been inundated yet again with requests for interviews about my sister.

'This has convinced me to write down my own thoughts and memories, once and for all, rather than having the discomfort of again reading the opinions of others, many of which are based on untruths that have become accepted over time.'

Swan Song, which will be published around the world and translated into 12 languages, is expected to provide an unprecedented inside account of a seismic week during which the House of Windsor was rocked by a global wave of public grief and anger.

Earl Spencer famously delivered a raw and defiant eulogy during Diana's funeral at Westminster Abbey, which was broadcast to an astonishing worldwide audience of 2.5billion.

During the powerful oration, he highlighted how his sister 'needed no royal title to continue to generate her particular brand of magic'.

He also pledged that Diana's 'blood family' would protect Princes William and Harry 'so that their souls are not simply immersed by duty and tradition, but can sing openly as you planned'.

His words so moved the huge crowds gathered outside that their spontaneous applause was eventually followed by clapping from the congregation inside the Abbey.

Earl Spencer today added: 'The aim of this book is to tell the truth about Diana from her brother's perspective, just as I attempted to do when speaking at her funeral.

'As with my eulogy, I want to speak on Diana's behalf and do so in an openly positive way.

'I hope this book will be of interest to the many who still cherish the memory of Diana when she was alive, and I would be delighted if those too young to remember her in her heyday feel – after reading this – that they 'get' who she really was: a one-off, dynamic character, full of love, charisma and self-doubt, who gave life a hell of a go, and left the world a far better place, despite exiting the stage while still so young.'

In the days leading up to the funeral, a heated row broke out behind the scenes over the decision for William and Harry to walk in Diana's funeral procession.

Writing in his controversial 2023 memoir Spare, Harry disclosed that his uncle objected vocally at the time, describing as a 'barbarity' the idea of having the boys, then aged 15 and 12, following the funeral cortege.

He also revealed that when an alternative plan was suggested of having William walk alone behind the coffin, Harry objected, saying he did not want his brother to undergo the ordeal on his own.

Earlier this year, Earl Spencer described how 'fundamentally unhappy' he becomes every year on the anniversary of his sister's death and how he finds it hard when strangers tell him where they were when she died.

Reflecting on Diana's 'extraordinary' legacy, he added: 'It's different things to different people, particularly to women of a similar age. They really invested their lives in hers.

'Maybe they had an unhappy marriage, maybe they battled an eating disorder. There's plenty of Diana to look into and take your bit out of – almost like a horoscope, you can make it make sense for you.'

Swan Song is due to be published in the UK by Penguin Michael Joseph, a division of Penguin Random House, on September 22.

The book's striking cover features an elegant black-and-white photograph of Diana.

Publisher Daniel Bunyard today said: 'This is a book of historic importance, telling as it does the story of one of the 20th century's most iconic and culturally significant figures, but it is also utterly unique in being written by Earl Spencer, from a vantage point of such intimacy.

'Charles Spencer is both a loving brother and an acclaimed memoirist as well as a celebrated historian, and all these facets are brought together in Swan Song.

'It is extraordinarily moving, beautifully written and remarkably candid, in no small part due to Charles's rare ability to access great emotional depth without sentimentality, honest observation without rancour, and warmth without gloss.

'While these pages contain many revelations that will draw considerable attention, readers will find, for the first time, but also for all time, a fitting tribute to the beloved woman who was Princess Diana.'

Charles Spencer and Diana grew up at the idyllic Park House on Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham estate in Norfolk, until the family moved to Althorp in 1975 when Charles was 12.

Diana affectionately called her younger brother 'Carlos', while he would call her 'Duch' – short for Duchess.

Their father, Viscount ('Johnnie') Spencer, had been equerry to both Queen Elizabeth and her father, George VI, while Diana's mother, Frances, was the younger daughter of the 4th Baron Fermoy.

Diana was the Spencers' third daughter and not the longed-for son who would secure continuance of the title. When Charles was born three years after Diana, a fireworks display was held in celebration.

Frances left Johnnie, later the 8th Earl Spencer, for the wallpaper heir Peter Shand Kydd in 1967. In an acrimonious custody battle the following year, Frances was dubbed 'a bolter' and lost the care of Diana, Charles and their older sisters Jane and Sarah.

From the age of eight, Charles was sent to Maidwell Hall boarding school in Northamptonshire, where he suffered appalling physical and sexual abuse.

In an extract from his poignant 2024 memoir A Very Private School, serialised exclusively in The Mail on Sunday, he described how a predatory assistant matron – whom he called a 'voracious paedophile' – preyed on him and other boys, grooming and then abusing them in their dormitory beds.

Earl Spencer had a ringside seat during his sister's marriage to the future King, their eventual bitter separation and, in 1996, their divorce.

In 2020 he revealed how rogue BBC reporter Martin Bashir spun a shocking web of deceit to obtain his 1995 Panorama interview with Diana, during which the princess famously declared 'there are three of us in this marriage' – referring to Camilla Parker Bowles.

Bashir showed the Earl forged bank statements to gain access to Diana and then tricked her by peddling a string of lies, including that Prince William's watch had been bugged to record her conversations.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children Archie and Lilibet reportedly visited the Althorp estate last month, where they are thought to have laid flowers on Diana's grave.

The princess's final resting place is on a tree-covered island in the middle of an ornamental lake called the Oval Lake.

They're never going to stop with this tired ass trope. Jennie Bond must have been on one of those lunches with Liam Maguire last week 🙄. Besides, William said 10 years ago that future Diana death anniversaries from him would be private, not public (ex: for the 25th in 2022).

more tired ass shit - the sussexes should have been given hiho bla bla... fuuckkkkk offffff with this shit already, it's 2026 OMG!

Prince Harry Plans to Visit U.K. ‘Every Few Months’ Following King Charles Reunion: Report

"Prince Harry is planning to return to the U.K. “more and more” following the reunion with his father, King Charles, last month.

A source close to the Duke of Sussex recently told The Times, “The way the wind is blowing, he’s going to want to be here more and more.”

“He’s happy these trips can now have more focus on the patronages and be less obscured by the other nonsense. He wants more of a foothold here, more trips back, less courtroom drama,” the source added, referring to the conclusion of Harry’s legal action against U.K. press. “And he always loves seeing his family.”"

You'd almost think all the legal "nonsense" wasn't instigated by Harry himself.

He's been to UK twice this year, plus trip to Australia, 2 trips to Canada and many more I'm sure. Clearly he doesn't give a toss about his carbon footprint. Wonder what Travalyst thinks?

James Wessex’s career choice revealed

James Wessex, Prince Edward and Sophie’s son and the late Queen’s youngest grandchild, is set to attend the Royal Agricultural University this coming autumn.

The 18 year old was seen working as a farm hand and driving a tractor this summer, apparently in preparation for his chosen career. James has chosen to study Rural Land and Property Management.

He follows in William’s footsteps, who did an agricultural and land management course at the university of Cambridge.

It seems James will not use the Prince title, which he was entitled to do so once he turned 18, and is determined to carve out his own path. Mum Sophie told reporters that they had eschewed HRHs and the Prince and Princess titles for their children, to prepare them for the fact that they would need to make their own way.

Edward and Sophie have apparently raised their kids right. They are staying out of the limelight and pursuing university degrees for their chosen careers.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle advised to ‘disappear professionally’ after latest business fail to salvage reputation

Via Page Six:

Everything Prince Harry and Meghan Markle touches doesn’t turn to gold.

After their “Cookie Queens” documentary — which marked their theatrical feature debut as executive producers — crumbled at the box office, they’re now being advised to halt their business ventures.

According to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, host of YouTube’s “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered,” the two have plenty of name recognition, but haven’t found a way to turn that into revenue from loyal consumers.

“I would tell them to disappear professionally for a little while, dramatically reduce the number of announcements, and identify one genuinely compelling project with experienced people around them who know how to execute it,” Schofield exclusively tells Page Six.

“Reputation recovery is possible, but I don’t think it comes from another rebrand or another glossy publicity campaign,” she also says. “I would recommend the opposite. Less talking, fewer announcements and more execution.”

“Success is one of the most effective reputation-management strategies in Hollywood. Make something undeniable and suddenly the conversation changes.”

Markle in particular has tried her hand at multiple business ventures, including podcasting, her Netflix cooking show, “With Love, Meghan,” and launching her As Ever brand.

The Spotify podcasting deal ended in 2023 — which made the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a whopping $20 million — after only one season of her show, “Archetypes.” Netflix also ended their partnership with her in March.

Schofield comments, “When you try to establish authority in every category simultaneously, you can end up establishing authority in none of them. Pick a lane, become good at it and allow success to rebuild credibility.”

“They need to stop treating their celebrity as the product and start creating products strong enough to survive without their celebrity.”

Schofield advises that the couple “get out of the way” and not try to make decision when it comes to projects they’re involved in while, instead, letting the pros handle it. She also notes that they need to find projects which have nothing to do with their grievances with the royal family.

“There are only so many times you can tell audiences why you left the royal family,” she explains. “If they want longevity in entertainment, they have to prove people are interested in their taste, ideas and storytelling when the monarchy isn’t the hook.”

“I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’re seeing renewed efforts toward reconciliation with King Charles at a moment when Harry and Meghan need to rebuild their credibility,” she adds. “I suspect that they understand that their fractured relationship with the royal family has become a professional liability.”

“Cookie Queens” — which follows four young Girl Scouts during the height of the intense cookie-selling season — was released on Aug. 7 in select theaters and made just $735 per screen, opening at No. 15, according to Boxoffice Pro.

It’s since grossed a total of $513,148 domestically, reports The Numbers.

But Markle, 45, and Harry, 41, aren’t letting their disappointing box office showing get them down. They stepped out for a date night at a gala celebrating the 40th anniversary of David Foster’s foundation earlier this month in Canada.

Markle honored her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, by wearing the iconic royal’s diamond and sapphire earrings during the glam red carpet appearance.

Oh dear, is Paradise about to be Lost?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been warned that their Montecito mansion faces serious flood and mudslide danger this autumn, putting their California Megxit dream at risk. Locals in the La Vuelta neighbourhood near San Ysidro Creek recently met Santa Barbara County officials to demand urgent flood-control measures amid fears of a "super El Niño". The couple's £11million Chateau of Riven Rock sits close to the same waterways that triggered the deadly 2018 debris flows which killed 23 people.

Previous owner Terry Cunningham admitted he "sure as hell didn't think about" mudslides when he built the nine-bedroom estate. Experts say sediment build-up and heavy winter rains could again threaten the gated community once the dry season ends. Despite the property now being valued at about $29 million, the looming weather threat has cast a fresh shadow over the Sussexes' carefully constructed life on the US West Coast.

Hahahahaha 🤣 (news article)

From the article:

David Foster is speaking out in defense of longtime friend Meghan Markle after a viral video misrepresented a recent red carpet moment between the two.

In a statement shared exclusively with PEOPLE, the legendary producer, 76, shut down reports that he snubbed the Duchess of Sussex, 45, at a gala celebrating the 40th anniversary of his namesake foundation on Aug. 7.

“As the host of the David Foster and Friends foundation event, I had already greeted our friends, the Duke and Duchess, at the entrance 10 minutes before the red carpet encounter,” Foster says. “They both, graciously and selflessly, gave their time and went beyond to engage with everyone. Harry and Meghan are dear friends of mine. Anyone watching can see there was no awkward moment and certainly no snub.”

He continues, “It’s sad that certain media chose to deceive a red carpet encounter for clickbait. They turned simple ‘positioning’ to get the best photo into a hurtful lie.”

In the video, Meghan and Prince Harry are posing for photos on the red carpet when Foster walks by her. He returns moments later with his wife, Katharine McPhee, and the group of four poses for a photo together as they smile and laugh.

The event was part of a weekend-long celebration commemorating 40 years of The David Foster Foundation, which provides financial support to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants.

A black-tie gala that also hosted stars like Adam Levine took place in Victoria, Canada on Aug. 7, and raised $14.5 million for the Foundation. A free concert was held the next day in Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

The couples are longtime friends, and Meghan and McPhee, 42, go way back, having attended the same high school in Los Angeles. The stars reconnected later in life, and their husbands formed a bond, too.

“My husband has a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry,” McPhee told Access Hollywood in 2020. “They’re like, they’re so cute. They’re like father and son… We just stay in touch with them. But mostly, Meghan and I knew each other from childhood, but really Harry and my husband are friends. It’s really nice.”

In 2019, Foster arranged for Meghan and Harry, 41, to stay at a mansion on Vancouver Island owned by one of his friends, and he told the Daily Mail he was glad the pair were able to “go under the radar for so long” at the home.

“I felt honored that I was able to help Meghan there because I’m a Canadian, and we’re a Commonwealth country; we’re the Crown’s. It’s important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment,” he told the outlet “I was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off.”

Invictus Birmingham

Just a thought - anyone watching the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham this week? Audiences may improve at the weekend, and although it is the school holidays here and this would be a great thing to take your kids to, they look pretty dire on TV so far. Word is the ticket prices are putting people off. A lot of folks don’t have the money to splash out for a family at a sporting event. I’m wondering how Invictus is going to fare, if it goes ahead, without some impressive fundraising and discounts. I imagine the potential audience is smaller anyway. The Invictus team have got their work cut out. And that’s without Haz getting in the way.
