DM sandals - do they ALL hurt?

i love the look of all the DM sandals and i have a pair of voss quad’s that absolutely kill my feet with blisters every time i wear them, and i have also heard similar issues across different sandal styles.

so out of general curiosity and also getting potential ideas for my next pair, my question is - has anyone had a pair of sandals that weren’t that hard to break in? (i say ‘that’ hard because - well - these ARE dr martens we’re talking about)

if so - what style were they?

Do y’all buy similar styles to what you already have?

Make me feel better ha. I already own the 1460 in crazy horse but i saw the cashew ambassador on sale half price so couldn’t resist. I may have also ordered the cherry red crazy horse 1460s cause they’re just so stunning. How many of y’all have similar pairs? I love them all but my god I have to stop buying docs 🙈

Pascal 1460 too small?

I’ve had different types of Dr Martens in the past, but ultimately, the Pascal is still my favorite. After using my old ones for 6 years, I’ve now ordered new ones. Exactly the same ones, or so I thought.

I’ve worn them for 3 days now, but when walking, I notice that my toes sometimes touch the front. When I’m sitting, I don’t have any issues. Absolutely no pain either, but it does feel a bit uncomfortable to keep sliding forward and hitting the front. Sorry for the weird photo, but that’s my foot when I’m standing on the insole.

I ordered the shoes secondhand because I thought they would fit anyway. I always wear a size 41 in Dr Martens and all other shoes. But I find it very strange that this pair feels so different. Of course, my 6-year-old pair feels different, but I can't remember having this problem.

What do you guys think? Is it a matter of breaking them in (even though they are secondhand, they haven’t been used so the leather hasn’t been broken in yet) or should I sell them and buy one size larger?

Which Mary Janes should I pick?

The ones available in my budget and size are: 1) Buzz milled nappa Mary janes, 2) Bex Double Stitch, or 3) Aprile Mary Janes.

Additionally there's Elphies but I have wider feet so I'm worried they wouldn't be comfortable. I need them for all day wear :)

Anyone have any strong feelings either way? Open to other shoes but might have to look at used.

First day in my new 1B60 Bex Pisa! How do you prefer to tighten them?

Love love LOVE my new boots!! They seem fairly comfortable so far, but I haven't done any extensive amount of walking in them yet. I hope to wear them to a concert on Saturday!

My question to fellow owners of these or other tall lace-ups: How do you balance tightening laces for stability and loosening for ease of getting into them? I find it exceedingly difficult to get my foot into them when I have my laces set tightly to hold my foot down (in order to eliminate heel lift and blisters). Yes, even when they are unzipped!

Not entirely keen on loosening and tightening the entire boot every time, so I'm wondering how others handle it!

Jesy boots

Hi! I’m really wanting to buy the Jesy heeled boots but I’m not sure about size, in doc martens I normally wear a 5 (the platform Jadon) but in normal shoes I’m about a 4, does anyone know if you should go a size up like normal or stick to your normal size :)

I’ve owned a lot of Docs but these are by far my favorite

Needless to say, I am obsessed with the Buzz 5-Eye Flower Grizzly Leathers! 🌼 they are SO comfortable. For anyone interested in buying these, I would advise to go down a size. They run big. I normally buy a women’s size 8 in docs, but bought these in a 7 and they fit perfectly. 👌🏻

Farewell Ol’ Reliable

Had these guys since 2019 and wore them pretty much every single day. I’m not exaggerating either, every single day. I love these shoes, they were super comfortable and they went everywhere with me. I traveled the world with them - from pushing a car up an iced over hill in rural Belgium to Mardi Gras in New Orleans & all over - many great memories were made and they carried me there.

It’s crazy how both shoes at the same time cracked in the sole and then I knew they needed to be replaced. Wanted to share their story with strangers on the internet who also love Docs before sending them off. Hoping to get another 7+ years out of the new pair and excited where they’ll take me throughout my life.

Gap at front

Hello to the smartest people I know regarding docs!

I bought my fiancee a pair of white docs to wear from our wedding from Vinted. They came today and are in amazing condition however no matter how tight she tries to tie them, there’s a gap at the front (versus our normal docs where the front lays down).

If anyone can help I’ll be super duper grateful!
Thank you!

Combs-like?

Picked these up brand new for an absolute steal late last year and they've quickly become my favourite piece of footwear. Especially since I've had them paired with the rose anvil saddle sole.

I was wondering if there's any other boots from DM that have a similar fit as they don't seem to be available on the site anymore (in Australia at least).

Look at my boots

The Korean army taught me a lot...

It's mostly useless.

But the skill of polishing leather was useful for my 1460 boots.
