Hopeful for true understanding
Hi, since I'm interested in fully preparing such a large amount of meat at once would it be best to simplify things by using something like a large rotisserie spit. Or is it a possibility to actually buy a large enough style of oven, smoker or barbecue that could actually accommodate my goals. And since it's a pork substitute would it be the same types of flavoring in regards to the marinade, glazes, spices and seasonings. Because I'm truly interested in real answers regarding my inquiries and how to perfectly achieve my goals to their best outcome possible.
Second sale item worth it?
Bought this at Winners and didn’t realize it was a seconds item. I’ve found the imperfection (I think) - is this still safe to use? It’s not a chip, but it’s like a small bump/imperfection in the enamel.
Dutch oven scratches
Is this still useable or is it toxic? Backstory: my sister came to town and baked bread in this cut did not put any parchment paper or flour on the bottom so it stuck horribly. She apparently used a knife to get it unstuck (which I didn’t know about…). I’m sad because I love this thing
these spots look different from the usual black protein stains and i'm having a lot of trouble telling if these are stains or damaged enamel/early signs of rust. give it to me straight :(
I would appreciate some help and advice. Today I discovered cast iron pot in local supermarket. I don't have any experience with this. Is this actually the duch oven? Is it any good especially for baking bread?
Chip or Rack Mark?
The age old question… I recently received my first Staub, as a gift- 7 qt. Cocotte, brand new from the factory. It came with this suspicious-looking divot in the lid. After searching this sub, I concluded it must be the inevitable and innocuous “rack mark.” However, after cooking with it once, the spot immediately rusted. There are also these odd small bumps/nodules along the inside of the lid that seem a bit off. Does these seem like grounds for a return/exchange? Even if these defects are definitely grounds for an exchange, would it be worth the hassle of shipping, or are these kinds of defects to be expected from Staub these days?
