Jim eventually realised the bellows had a hole in them!!! See below for great recipe for dessert.

While this is a joke - we had cooked sourdough pancakes. In the metal tray Jim heated up apples and oranges with brown sugar, vanilla extract and mead ( honey wine). Served with double cream. Could use brandy or whatever you choose. So so simple and really lovely. If you can get the coals hot enough!!!

Ty Canol campsite - Newport , Pembrokeshire! A truly lovely place.

Heard about this place through m daughter whose parents run a pub in the town. Three fields. We chose the top one. Bit of a walk to the loos but there were only a couple of people all week. Slow posting as there has been a lot going on including my 70th birthday party. Would definitely go to this campsite again. Post some pics in the next days

Volunteered a few weeks ago at Woodhouse farm. Returned to put up the lean to shelter we made.

Over the last weeks we cut and prepared a lean to shelter fit Woodhouse farm. Had a day last week setting it up. Pretty pleased with the result. None of us had done anything like it before.

First tryout of the new tent. 6x4 metre DubPod with Annex. Half price off e baby. Brand new in box.

Guy won a split screen vw camper, tent and stove. Didn’t want the tent and stove. Brand new in the boxes. Fantastic bit of kit. No more scrabbling out of the door like the old bell tent. So much space inside because of the door layout. Actually designed to connect to vehicle. Celebrated with a Dutch oven roast duck. r/ old campcookcadtiron

Simple short rib stew padded out with brisket. Used a rub as on the video. Thickened up at the end with cornflour. Friends arrived and never took the final video. It was delicious so I’ve shared it anyway. Love cooking outside. r/oldcampcookcastiron. Loads left for the freezer.

Hard days work followed by wood fired cooking. Nice cold glass of beer went down well. Roux was half cups of red wine and balsamic vinegar with couple of teaspoons of honey. Lovely!! Chops marinated for two hours with lemon juice, garlic and rosemary. R/oldcampcookcastiron.
