Am I expecting too much?

I have wavy, coloured hair and can normally easily curl my hair with a regular curling wand and it'll last for days with only some basic hair spray on it on day one (obviously a little messier on days 2-3 but very much still there). Overall, my hair is in very good condition, it's about armpit length.

I purchased the new coanda airwrap after watching what feels like a million videos on YouTube of women with long hair (past chest length) achieve these insane, spiral curl blowouts that they'd claim would last ages.

I've tried following hints and tips like not touching anything until my head is cold, applying product (my hairdresser specifically recommended some items she normally uses for my blowouts in the salon - she does these with a regular round brush and hair dryer and would last a week if I didn't need to wash the roots). However, the style will not stay and some areas won't curl at all (just makes some sad weird S shape). I've experimented with more wet, less wet, more product, less product, brushing through with a wide comb Vs fingers... Has anyone else had this much trouble? Is my hair 'too' healthy (most of the videos were women with heavily bleached hair)? Am I expecting something this product isn't capable of? Any tips welcome.

What’s the difference?

I’m going on a trip and trying to decide which piece to take with me, and in general what each is used for? Do the ends really make enough of a difference to warrant taking both?

For context I have fine but wavy/curly hair that I use the Dyson to do “blow outs”

Any help will be appreciated, thank you!!! :)

Looking to compare!

Really just looking to compare this to someone else’s airwrap. My mom bought me this Dyson Airwrap around Christmas of last year. It seems good quality and works well. I’ve tried multiple times to connect it to the app and it doesn’t show up. I recently realized filter is spelled wrong, is it supposed to be like this?

How do I get my roots to stay straight when I curl my hair?

I have very thick, coarse, curly hair. It takes me hours to just dry and style. And even after 2 hours of using a flat iron, my hair is really puffy and still somewhat curly at the roots if that makes sense.

I bought the dyson last year thinking it would change my life. I really like to use it for quick drying and blowout looks after my hair is already straight. I’ve tried curling my hair multiple times, watched tutorials, tried different barrel sizes, etc. but it always looks awful. I can never get my roots to stay straight, even after using the round brush or smoothing brush.

Thick haired girlies please help!!!

Does this Dyson airwrap look legit? Having trouble telling 😭

Would you recommend a Dyson for a curly bleached hair?

I like my hair straight more so I use iron straightener all the time it causes breakage so I decided to invest in a Dyson but unfortunately some people are saying the brush will still cause breakage in my hair

Defects on new Dyson

Hello!

I just opened my pink Dyson airwrap i.d. curl today and was quite disappointed. It looks like someone has already used it and returned it.

The outer box was damaged as well as the wrapping paper around the machine, which is fine I guess (even though its not what you expect for 500€). The main problem is that the top metal part of the machine has some kind of discoloration (look at my pictures). Its not super obvious in photographs but IRL its clearly visible. It almost looks like its dirty (but its not, ive tried to wipe it off lol). Also, one of the attachments has some scratches. I guess it doesnt affect the usage of the machine but for that price it shouldnt look like that.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is this normal? Am I just overreacting (after all, it will probably get some more beauty defects after I have used it myself for a while)? Does anyone have any advice? Should I try to contact Dyson to get it exchanged?

Dyson Coanda 2x Uneven Gap

Hi everyone! I recently got a new Dyson Airwrap and noticed that the filter cage/seam at the bottom is slightly uneven/open on one side. Dyson support told me that slight movement/gapping is considered normal, but I wanted to ask other owners for comparison and peace of mind.

Does yours look similar, or is the seam completely flush on your Airwrap? Photos/opinions would really help. Thank you!

New Dyson Model Release

I would like to buy a Dyson but I’m not from a Country that I can buy it directly and return it if a new better model comes, so if I buy the Co-anda2x, that’s it.

My question is, do you guys know if they release a new model every year at the beginning? Or mid year? What’s the trend with Dyson and releases?

Thanks all!! 🫶🏻

How to get blowout look with airwrap

Hello!
I have 2b course thick hair and have been using my dyson airwrap origin to give my hair a blowout look. Having naturally curly and frizzy hair plus living in a humid country, i realised that my hair curls within minutes after going through the anti-snag loop brush multiple times to get a smooth and straight ish look.

I have tried doing smaller sections, adding tension and doing slower yet my hair curls (though neater and less frizzy). Didnt have this issue with a flat iron or salon blowouts. What am i doing wrong?

I found the fix for frizz with the Dyson Airstrait

After a year (!) of trying to fix frizz with the Airstrait, I finally found the solution!

Try tucking the airflow a bit inwards. So when you're holding the airstrait and air is blowing down, turn it in a tiny bit so it's almost tucked inwards. That helped cut down 90% of the frizz for me, but I still got it on the top of my head.

And then I found the solution for the roots too - don't dry the roots! It was the heat that made it worse. I'm a bit annoyed about this - all the solutions online told me to dry them more, but not touching them at all was the solution.

And as a reminder - the slower you go down the hair, the better it is.

I really hope this helps someone as I tried dozens of different things. A list of things I tried:

  1. Color Wow spray
  2. Argan oil
  3. Bumble and bumble hair oil primer
  4. Drying roots with a hair dryer first
  5. Dyson supersonic flyaway attachment (this helped a bit)
  6. Using my regular straightener afterwards (this didn't help with my roots)
  7. Experimenting with Cool shot/ boost etc
  8. Hair dryer sheets for the flyaways lol
  9. Metal comb for the flyaways (in case it's static)

Insane! I spent so much time and money on the fix haha. I loved my Airstrait, but leaving the house, I looked weird with all the tiny hairs flying straight up. I wasn't sure if the effort I was putting in was worth it, when the top looked so weird...

Really really hope this helps someone :D

Unable to retain blowout (straight) look

Hi everyone. I have hip length wavy hair. I bought a new dyson airwrap and have been using it to achieve the "90s blowout" look. I'm new to heat styling so I've been using the loreal extraordinary oil serum, and I've tried this about thrice now. This is always the result in a few hours/the next day.

I also noticed that my hair does not seem to get completely dry. I use the dryer attachment until my hair is almost completely dry. Should I be drying it for longer? I know it's not a straightener but the blowout look is what Is like to achieve.

Believing it's a product issue, I've ordered the Redken One United Spray. Thoughts on that? Please help!

Airwrap i.d. multistyler box no room for diffuser?

I have the Airwrap i.d. multistyler Curly + coily. This is the one with the big (2 part) diffuser. With the pretty box and handy travel bag. But the diffuser doesn't fit in either of those. How do you store it?

Just confirming this is actually the large one?

I can only find dupes of the large size round brush, with be exception of this seller. Integrity Tech generally sells OEM stuff. Before I buy it, is this really the large size? Not the small that comes either the kit?

My Dyson finally died

After 6.5 years my og dyson airwrap stopped turning on. I’ve cleaned it, took it apart and cleaned some more, no luck it’s not turning on in any outlet I try. I want to replace it, but so many new versions have come out since I got mine, wondering what the best model is now and if there are any sales I should try to hold out for?

Small round brush out of stock?

I’m looking for the small round brush for my airwrap id. I have short hair so the round brush that comes in the box doesn’t really do much when blow drying. Why isn’t it available for airwrap id? And are the third party ones on Amazon or aliexpress safe?

Airwrap Died - Warranty. Expired... If you gave your airwrap for something else, what do you recommend?

Title

Giving up on my airwrap, mine kept overheating and costs too much to replace... yes next time I'll buy it from Costco. What competitor is just as good?

Just received from Amazon. Is this used?

Got this as a birthday gift for my mom, we opened together and "broke the seal" on the stuff like usual. But to me it looks used?
