You can hate universe 0 but you can't hate these scenes

Even though this story arc is hated due to how it was handled, the rushed pacing, and certain choices, I find it to be a very important part of the story—one that offers a great deal from a narrative standpoint. Despite the issues, it contains some of what I consider the best scenes in *Edens Zero*. What do you think?

I wanted to ask something about S1E16

https://preview.redd.it/lwlvw5t08oah1.png?width=1586&format=png&auto=webp&s=45fda3a5b3bcc3bf3104b2a8d460e94d1fcc2c7a

[SPOILER FOR ANIME S1E16]

>!Did anyone of you find this episode unintentionally funny? Like sure its Hermit's backstory. And its a sad one.!<

>!But the opening scene of the giant doom cannon pointing directly at the robo only planet full of poor decrepit robots... Then the Professor having a long nose like Pinocchio, because Pinocchio lies... Then the fairly standard scenes of "unity" and "friendship" that in other stories setup loss and betrayal... then the (almost universal) setup for a backstab that the robot researches got... and all this start to finish was under the 12min mark of the episode!<

>!All this was sooooo predictable that when the planet blew up, I started laughing. I felt weird initially, but then the anime threw this (pic related) scene at my face, It was like the animators (not the writer) know that this was so damn predictable and fucking hilarious, so they are laughing with us. "Ha fuckin dumbass could not smell the gunpowder until the trigger was pulled".!<

>!I am not impugning the writer, I'm just saying that this was so bloody predictable that it had the opposite effect on me. I laughed instead of feeling for Hermit.!<>!!<

Do you think Edens Zero was treated unfairly?

I think true fans of *EZ* share this sentiment. On one hand, having a famous creator makes the series instantly recognizable; on the other, if that creator has a somewhat tarnished reputation, the series risks being dismissed or judged harshly after just a few chapters without being taken seriously. Furthermore, we have to admit that Mashima’s fanbase is deeply attached to works like *Rave* and *Fairy Tail*—with their medieval fantasy settings—and the shift to a sci-fi plot alienated many readers. Most *EZ* readers have a stronger emotional bond with *Rave Master* and *Fairy Tail*, and I don't blame them; even if Mashima creates a masterpiece in the future, I’ll likely always prefer *EZ* regardless—and perhaps my own perspective is colored by that bias. Unfortunately, even die-hard fans weren't entirely satisfied; the series' poor reputation and the author's desire to wrap things up quickly resulted in a rushed ending. I don't know if there are any surprises in store for the franchise or if it will eventually be re-evaluated, but in my opinion, the story and its narrative structure possess that special something that sets them apart.

Edens Zero: The Galactic Castaway. fanfic.

Hi, I've written a fanfic on Wattpad. It's an Edens Zero crossover with Star Wars is canon divergence, post-belial gore and 4 months after Exegol.

Although I don't speak English, I speak Spanish, but I'd like you to read it, even if it's translated into your language.

Synopsis:

Kyo Nakano isn't a war hero, a Jedi, or the chosen one of any prophecy.

He's a simple cargo pilot, or at least he was until a failed hyperspace jump left him stranded in an isolated region of the galaxy. A place with its own laws, strange powers, and a void filled with cherry blossoms.

After crashing on an unknown world, Kyo waited weeks for a rescue that seemed like it would never come. But what he didn't expect was that his salvation would come wrapped in the absolute chaos of the Edens Zero.

Now, Kyo must not only survive the dangers of the Sakura Cosmos, but also his new and eccentric "family":

A Maou with a somewhat aggressive concept of friendship, a B-Cuber obsessed with her channel's views, a sadistic doctor, a stoic ninja... all while trying to become the "tactical support" (and the only voice of reason) for a group that attracts trouble like a magnet.

To make matters worse, his body has awakened a strange Aether. But as they travel through the stars, Kyo keeps a secret in his pocket: some old Imperial code cylinders he'd kept as a simple "souvenir" from his high school graduation.

That trinket is the key capable of awakening a sleeping giant: an Imperial Star Destroyer MK2.

A war fortress that isn't there to replace the Edens, but to become the sword and shield that will protect the Edens Zero on its journey to Mother.

Is Kyo just an unlucky castaway? Or is he a piece of a puzzle Mother began assembling almost 30 years ago?

A story of friendship, found family, farcical comedy, culture clash, tactical strategy, and an epic space adventure.

Unofficial fan fiction, a non-profit work of fiction created purely for creative purposes.

Happy anniversary to the ending of Edens Zero.

*Edens Zero* ended two years ago with the final chapter, number 293; what is your relationship with this work, and how has it evolved over time?

Hermit sabotaged Arsenal [discussion]

The title is a bit clickbait because I don't think she actually sabotaged it, but bare with me a sec.

I was rereading the manga recently and a question came to mind: How is it possible that Hermit always helps Weisz build his suit technical and IT side, yet Arsenal always ends up draining too much ether gear from him to the point he can't use for a bit after a fight?

The same Hermit who (albeit unwittingly) managed to create a rector who wiped out a planet >!and create a Goddess through overdrive!<? Is it possible that she can't make something as "simple" as a superhero suit? Or at least correct it after the first use in fight? The same girl who knows much more than Weisz about the technical aspects of Arsenal as shown multiple times in the series? Somenthing doesn't add up.

And here comes my in-world theory: Hermit purposely nerfed Arsenal to prevent Weisz from getting hurt.

Knowing that Weisz was not an expert in these things yet but was acting by feeling on everything, there was a greater risk that he would get hurt with a weapon like that at its fullest power. And after what she's been through in her past, I don't think she wants one of her creation to hurt anyone again, so it was "better" for it to put its user in "a timeout" for a bit of time after one use by draining almost all his ether (Which is also convinient to the plot lol)

To confirm my thesis, there is the prototype of the U0 where Weisz himself says "I can't get it to its full potential without Hermit" a sign that he himself knows something or realized it while recreating the suit.

There could also be the possibility that she did it to "spend more time with him" and rebuild it each time, but seeing Hermit's character it's more likely that she did it to make him happy with the suit, yes, but in a safe way. This also explains why the suit, although customizable, gains power "slowly" over the course of the series. The more Weisz gets used to using it, the more Hermit "de-nerf" it.

So that's my take, let me know what you think in the comments :)
