I've been playing drums for a few months now and I'm joined a band with some other beginners we all love screamo and post hardcore music and I need to know what beginner songs to practise to get in the feel and just stuff I should know abt the music that separates it from other kinds

Trying to make a little informative zine about mosh culture in hardcore and want to call out bands that I think are doing cool stuff and still holding true to the old school emo/screamo ethic. It might be a little preachy. If you think I'm a fun hating herb let me be but I'd love to know of any bands still trying to be curmudgeonly to this day.

Been a fan of this sound forever and I'm planning to archive the early 2000s underground scene (hardcore/emo/skramz/metalcore/violence....). I've been using MySpace archives and a few other sites like discog, but I'd love to get some help from the old-school heads. Looking for the most obscure bands possible, local scene lore, some of the main venue and scans of old flyers or rare merch. Any tips on where to look?

Im going to my first screamo concert/basement show and im curious about the difference between the internet screamo and irl screamo community. Like irl are people gatekeeping bands and judging you for wearing a saetia shirt? Or are people more nice lol

i used to be big into the scene a couples years back but i’ve missed maybe the last 2 years of skramz shit, my favorite bands are jeromes dream, the spirit of versailles, frail hands, tears of avarel and i remember rlly liking versera before they broke up. and recs of what’s come out lately i need to catchy up

Hello for the past few months I have been working on writing songs with a buddy I met at a local diy show and since then we have found a rhythm guitarist and a bassist. We have written several songs which I think are very good but we cannot find a drummer I know a few however those 2 are both are in very popular local bands. I’m a vocalist if I were to describe our sound it’s kind of emoviolence/sasscore/blues kinda if anyone knows any drummers in the Chicago area looking for something to do just let me know (if anyone is interested I will send some clips and what not)
