I recently got into emulation and I got a little to carried away and filled up my drive really quickly and so I’m looking into external hard drives but I just had one question, would it be possible to copy all my emulation data (roms, bios, emulators (I used DS,Pcsx2, and rscp3)) to the external hard drives?

I’m completely new to the whole emulator scene, so apologies if this is a basic question.
I grew up playing on a Sega Mega Drive 2 and recently got hit with a wave of nostalgia. I’d really love to go back and replay some of the games I used to enjoy, but I don’t have the console anymore, just my PC and Im running Windows (if it matters).
I’ve heard that emulators are the way to do this, but I honestly have no idea how the process works. I have 3 basic questions just to know if its worth even trying:
What emulator should I use for Mega Drive/Genesis games?
How do you actually get the games running?
Is it complicated to set everything up for someone with zero experience?
I’m not super technical, but I can follow instructions if needed. Just trying to understand how difficult it is and where to begin.
Any advice, recommendations, or beginner-friendly guides would be really appreciated!

I wanted to replay dmc 1 on the hd collection on rpcs3, but the game keeps crashing when building spu shaders. I tried to reach out to the rpcs3 subreddit mods, but they muted me. Does anyone know how to fix this problem, it would be much appreciated

Apparently LDplayer has been exposed and has been recording screens. I can’t find any conclusive evidence that this is only for LDcloud/OSlink but for the sake of being safe, are there any android emulator alternatives? How safe is bluestacks?

I have a Problem on my Gameboy advance Emulator (Im using VisualBoyAdvance) when playing my FireRed ROM. When I try to save the game, a error message appers on my pc, I already changed the save type to "Flash 128K", before there was a different Message ingame when I tried to fix and i also deleted and reinstalled the ROM and it didnt help.
The Message is "Error creating fileE:\All Kinds Of Games Emulators+More\GameBoy-GameBoyColor-GameBoyAdv-GameBoySP-Emulator(s)\VisualBoy Advance Emulator(s)\VisualBoyAdvance Emulator\Battery\Pokemon - Fire Red.sav"

I haven't seen anyone asking this, but I am wondering which one is the best as I have been testing both Playnite and Retrobat lately but I am not sure which one to go with.
So, I am currently unable to boot splatoon on ver 11.0.0 to play side order, I am using ryujinx and keep getting a black screen on boot, I have left the game on for a total of 17 hours to see if by chance it could work, but it won't, ver 1 all the way to 9.3 work. Does anyone have a solution? I can't go back to ver 9.3 because I no longer have the file.
So i'm wondering is it simple enough to start and does it pay off in the sense that it feels good playing on pc?
Do i need a controller or joystick?
(keep in mind I am just a beginner in emulation)
I thought the emulator needed an update after I saw my version (1.3.28) was older to the one on the github page (at the time of writing this 1.3.294). So, how do I upgrade to this latest version recently released on github? Or Is it necessary to keep on updating it to the latest version? please fill me in with your knowledge fellow people.
I’ve been playing base ACNH on Yuzu and more recently on Eden with no issues. However, the base ROM is v.1.7 so when I tried updating to 3.0.0 or higher, my game won’t load and just stays on the launching screen forever. I updated my keys and firmware, restarted pc, removed pipeline and something else like custom configurations. But still nothing, if I uncheck the updates under configure current game then it runs totally fine. I downloaded the updates from nx. Can anyone help me? I’m running out of ideas!
Hola, hace poco me compré un portátil TUF. Sus especificaciones son: Ryzen 5 7535HS, RTX 2050, 16 GB de RAM y un SSD NVMe.
He estado teniendo problemas de rendimiento con los emuladores, especialmente con Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom y algunos otros juegos de Switch.
El problema empezó cuando probé Cemu. Breath of the Wild no supera los 40 FPS y a menudo baja a unos 25 FPS, lo que no parece estar relacionado con la compilación de shaders. Me pareció extraño porque he conseguido que funcione a 60 FPS en portátiles menos potentes, y he visto sistemas con las mismas especificaciones alcanzar esas tasas de fotogramas sin problemas.
Algo similar ocurre con Tears of the Kingdom. Aunque sé que es mucho más exigente, apenas consigo unos inestables 30 FPS, muy por debajo del rendimiento que reportan otros usuarios con hardware similar. Lo extraño es que el portátil funciona exactamente como se espera en juegos de PC nativos, incluso un poco mejor después de configurar G-Helper.
He probado prácticamente de todo: optimizar Windows, ajustar la configuración del emulador, modificar el comportamiento de la aceleración de la CPU con G-Helper e incluso realizar instalaciones limpias de Windows 11 y Windows 11 LTSC. En el mejor de los casos, solo gané 2-3 FPS y un poco más de estabilidad.
Hace unas semanas, necesitaba instalar Windows 10 en otra partición para algunos programas de la universidad. Solo instalé los controladores básicos del chipset y la GPU, junto con algunos ajustes sencillos del sistema. Por curiosidad, probé Cemu allí, y Breath of the Wild empezó a funcionar inmediatamente entre 54 y 60 FPS en modo de energía equilibrada, manteniendo casi 60 FPS estables la mayor parte del tiempo. Tears of the Kingdom también mejoró significativamente, alcanzando alrededor de 45 FPS con las caídas ocasionales normales para el juego.
Desde entonces, he estado intentando averiguar qué causa el problema en mi instalación principal de Windows 11. He probado diferentes configuraciones e incluso restauré todo a los valores predeterminados, pero el rendimiento sigue estancado entre 40 y 45 FPS.
¿Alguien ha experimentado algo similar o ha encontrado una posible solución? ¿Es este un problema relativamente común con Windows 11 y los emuladores, o simplemente obtendría mejores resultados usando Windows 10 o Linux?

Hi, I have a question about how to set up emulators on different systems.
At the moment, I’m emulating games on both a PC (an old laptop I’ve installed Linux on) and a Retroid 4 Pro, and I was wondering if there’s a specific website/discord/subredit that lists the best settings for the different systems. Something like: ‘To emulate this console on this system, the best emulator is X and the best settings are Y.’ or something like that.
The little I found back when I was setting up the Retroid was in the subreddit r/retroid and some youtube videos but now that I want to set up another system, I was wondering if there were any centralised configurations available anywhere.
