Has anyone else had this experience? It's seriously ridiculous how well it works. Also does anyone know the science behind it?

They replaced the top right “book class” or whatever i forgot feature with a “classes” feature that only has videos. I cant even figure out how to book a class anymore? Or even view the schedule.

I'm going to join Equinox in NYC, just wondering what plan to go with. Definitely want access to more than one club, but saw these are higher tiers. I'd do it if worth it.

Moving to LA and may join. I’ll be living just south of West Hollywood. Which location is better? I won’t use the pool. Also is the remodel complete in West Hollywood?

Looking to get back into seeing a personal reformer coach but I’m confused about how the app works. It seems to want me to buy class options before I see who the instructors are and what scheduling looks like. Is there a different way to do this vs going through the app?

Has anyone done a deep dive on why the Equinox Sports Club gets intolerably hot during the summer? And how to get management to fix things?

I rarely complain, but it's been an issue for three summers in a row. This location is hot and humid. Even staff are audibly complaining about the heat. The elevators constantly break and members are forced to walk up ~8 flights of stairs through the offices. Lately, every time I check in, there is an elderly person rightfully yelling at the front desk about the heat.

One employee said that the AC throughout the rest of the building is fine – it's just a problem in the Equinox Sports Club. Management said they could not plug in portable ACs to temporarily deal with the problem because of their "vendor" ... what does that even mean? Go to Home Depot!

Why can i hear your music through my noise cancelling headphones with the volume nearly maxed out? If someone chose to come without their own music im sure they’ll be ok without your music.

As the title says, I signed up for a membership about a week ago. I was excited in the moment to sign up for a luxury gym near my new job, but I was stupid and didn’t notice how the classes I initially signed up for do not fit into my schedule at all.

I’ve been back in forth about trying to make it work, buttt I’m kinda on the end of just wanting to cancel.

However, I’m aware of their 12-month commitment rule as part of their membership agreement, but get this, I wasn’t even prompted to sign anything.

I asked all the questions I wanted to know, but literally the sales rep just put in all my credit card info and called it a day. I wanted to say something, but I thought to just keep quiet incase I didn’t really like the gym.

Any thoughts? I’m not sure if I should attempt to cancel. I don’t know what they might have on their end. The only thing I DID sign was the liability waiver before entering the gym when given a tour. UNLESS that also had the membership agreement lmao??? Of course I just signed it without looking because I was told it’s just a liability agreement. So unless they secretly throw in the membership agreement in there, that’s on me 😩

Just ask him out on a date so we can use the machine you’re “resting” at.

Someone explain please. Is everyone deaf? Is this a very expensive social club and not a gym?

Not sure if it’s an age thing (I’m mid 20s) but I thought it was normal to wait 1-2 minutes between sets for weight lifting?

I’ve now had 4 different people (age 55+) at UWS locations complain that I’ve been on a machine or bench for too long - but usually I take 5-7 mins for my entire exercise. I also make it a big deal to not use my phone in between sets.

I always try to be polite and respectful, asking if they want to work in with me, but to be honest I’ve had some pretty rude interactions.

What is the appropriate amount of time to be at a specific machine?

People seem to be really confused about what’s normal in the steam room, I for example wear a towel everytime I go in, it seems that’s not the norm, today I saw someone completely naked not a towel in sight in the steam room, he got up and took a cold shower and I was really concerned. On my way out I even asked management if that was allowed, they said towels are worn at all times in the sauna and steam room, two other people opened the door and came in and then immediately left. I sometimes will take a cold shower and pee in my towel, but definately not naked

I’m already an equinox member, I want to see if Hudson yards is worth the destination membership, I asked and they said I have to pay $100 at the desk. I just want to try it out for a day for free, anyone know how I can do that?

I overheard a woman complaining to a manager about another member taking selfies in the locker room/sauna area while other people were naked around her. I remember thinking, that’s insane, but also figured it was one of those things that would never happen to me and probably doesn’t happen often lol.

Well, guess what happened today…

I finished my class and went into the sauna. I was laying down there with my arms up covering part of my face/eyes, not really paying attention to anyone around me. For whatever reason, I looked up for a sec and saw a girl holding her phone up, recording a video WITH ME CLEARLY IN THE BACKGROUND. The second I looked at her, she quickly lowered her phone and put it away.

And yes, I was naked.

I was honestly so shocked that I didn’t even know how to react in the moment. The fact that she immediately hid her phone when she realized I saw her makes me think she knew exactly what she was doing, and I’m not saying she was purposely filming ME, but still… a very shit situation.

I immediately put my towel around me, left, and went to the showers and back home.

And because I know some of you will ask:

-why didn’t I say anything: idk. I just feel like people are crazier and crazier nowadays and I really don’t like confrontation or having someone get crazy or deny what i’m saying so I just left.

What really frustrates me is that this is a very expensive gym. How are there not stricter policies and enforcement around phone use in locker rooms, saunas, and other nude areas? It seems like the most basic rule imaginable: no phones in spaces where people are changing, showering, or sitting naked. SPECIALLY IN A SAUNA WHERE YOU CANNOT HAVE A LITHIUM BATTERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else experienced this? Did you report it? And did your equinox actually do anything about it?

EDIT: I did report it to management. They asked me what she looked like (which was difficult because, honestly, she looked like every other girl in there), apologized for what happened, and that was pretty much it. They didn’t explain what, if anything, they planned to do about it.

The point of this post isn’t to vent online and then do nothing. I’m curious to hear from people who have dealt with similar situations. Did management take it seriously? Did they actually follow up or enforce any consequences? I’m trying to figure out whether this kind of response is normal or if I should be pushing for more action.
