Crashing in Sanctuary starting New game

Is it simply too many mods? One of the paid creations? Disorganized load order? Too many leveled list stuff?

I already uninstalled and reinstalled Fo4 after deleting save data, cleared and rebuilt my system cache, anything else I should do?

Just wondering how you all are modding the game without it crashing every 2-5 minutes

Pretty much the title. The amount of crashes trying to just get even a small handful of mods is just ridiculous.

Is there something I should avoid? Something I don't know about or is there just nothing we can really do about it? Skyrim does the same thing, but nowhere near as often as FO4.

I did a quick Google search the other day and saw that certain creations, like Neon Flats tend to corrupt something...I'm not sure what the exact problem is. If that's actually the case, should I not use paid Creations and normal mods? I actually like a lot of the paid ones I have, so it would kinda suck to not be able to use any of them besides the ones a few mods require, like the ones everyone got for free with the anniversary update I believe.

Someone has to know something. Or I guess I'll just deal with it as I'm sure a lot of us always have. Any help or insight would be very much appreciated though, since it really makes trying to do anything impossible.

Fallout 4 Leveled Lists Injection crash solution PS4 / PS5

So I see alot of players having issues with ll injected weapons but I don't have that much issue with them.

Maybe because I use a mod called DDLL

Distributed Dlc Leveled Lists by otellino.

Introduction

Distributed DLC Leveled Lists, or DDLL, is a script-based mod for Fallout 4 that dynamically distributes all the weapons from official DLC that the player currently has installed throughout the base game. Being script-based, DDLL has the benefit of not requiring the player to create or use merged patches, rather it injects items into appropriate forms and at appropriate levels at runtime. DDLL also has the benefit of not requiring specific DLCs or Creations - it works dynamically in the background, adapting to the player’s currently loaded content.

It has 3 modes standard, wacky, unhinged.

it's a tiny master file and it makes the game so much more unpredictable. You never know what the next mob of enemies are going to wear or equip.

I just wish otellino updates this fabulous mod to anniversary edition but strangely I see vendors sell 12.7 weapons which are from Sea Scavengers cc that are not supported by this mod.

Recommended mods:

Tumbajamba's armor collection; mm, gunners, synths etc..

Weapons of the wasteland series; I use all of them except revolvers.

Combined arms and expansion: I don't use this mod but its a very cool weapons mod, adds 17 high quality weapons to LL but I read it has some texture issues.

Second solution: stay out of the leveled list injection range

Crashes only happen when the enemy npcs spawn with LL weapons with different customisations. Armors don't have that much impact. The range is between level 5 to level 30.

You can test it at beginning of the New Game. After existing the vault using Cheat Terminal put your level to 75, teleport to boston library move to boston commons. ( I cleared the whole boston from enemies in 2 hours without saving and without Crashing, entered and exited combat zone, goodneighbor, DC etc.. I didn't even use fps plus, smooth as butter 🧈 )

Use Enemy Scaling Revamped mod if necessary. It might help but makes enemies so much stronger.

I wish this announcement was for happier things like new mods that work. Unfortunately, it is not. Our community member Cryptic is being harassed after calling out a Toxic Fake Porter known as GeoFox. If any of you have been modding Fallout 4 long enough to remember the burncycle incident 5 years ago, this is very akin to that with much more broken mods, anti-Semitism and false pedo calling.

The user GeoFox was/is uploading in mass broken ports of mods with no permission to do so. This is very detrimental to the end user who untimely will have their entire load order ruined when this persons account is banned; which has been several times by now. They keep making more with similar names as fast as Bethesda bans them.

As players we must remain vigilant and report each and every one of these mods.

Their PSN should also be reported to Sony for illegal activities on the Sony network. The simple use of anti-Semitic remarks and NSFW images with NSFW mods being uploaded to an SFW platform automatically qualify this user's PSN banned. The more reports, the faster they will be banned by Sony and hopefully stop this entirely in perpetuity because Sony can lock them out of their PS itself based on serial # if the offence is too severe, which this is imo. Racism is very strict within Sony guidelines and your console itself can be locked out of online use indefinitely.

Cryptic seems thus unphased by this and like myself wishes mental help for this person. This type of behavior is not something a normal mentally sane adult would engage with and if they are a minor their parents should seek them council. Cyber bullying is severe and unacceptable even if the receiver seems unbothered.

In the meantime report as much as possible and enjoy the safe mod uploads from your trusted mod authors and porters <3

Face/hair mods?

I love that we have CBBE now, but I was wondering if there were any good hair or face overhaul type mods? I have the environment looking good but the characters are still a bit outdated. Some good scar textures would be nice too.
I haven’t played on PC so I am not sure what is available to port.

Fallout 4 PS5 – Tested Immersive Survival Load Order (42 Mods)
Hey everyone!
I wanted to share my Fallout 4 PS5 mod list and load order that I created for an immersive survival roleplay experience.

This setup is made specifically for PlayStation 5. I have not tested it on Xbox or PC, so I cannot guarantee the same results on other platforms.

I spent around three weeks creating, testing, and adjusting this load order. I tried different arrangements, compared different recommendations from the community, and changed the order multiple times until I found the setup that worked best for my playstyle.

The goal of this mod list is to create a more immersive and realistic Fallout 4 experience:
More challenging and tactical combat
Better atmosphere and exploration
Smarter enemies
Slower progression
Stronger survival feeling
More rewarding exploration
A better roleplay experience

Visually, this setup also changes the atmosphere of the Commonwealth quite a lot. Combined with the weather, lighting, environment, and survival-focused changes, the game feels much darker and more atmospheric, with a feeling closer to games like Metro or S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I know that load order recommendations can vary a lot. Some people recommend placing AI mods higher, weather mods lower, landscape mods in different positions, and so on. After testing different approaches, this is the order that gave me the best results.

I have tested this setup extensively and it has been running very well for me on PS5. Performance has been stable, including in Boston, which is usually one of the more demanding areas. I have not experienced any major performance problems.
I did have some instability during testing that seemed to be related to QWAPA, so keep that in mind if you decide to use this list. After adjusting the setup, the overall stability improved a lot.

Of course, every Fallout 4 installation can behave differently, especially with modded games, so always test it yourself and keep save backups.

Optional Paid Mods / Creation Club Content

A few mods in this setup are paid Creation Club/Marketplace mods. They are not required for this load order to work, and you can still enjoy the setup without purchasing anything.

However, if you want the full survival and immersion experience, these are the two I personally recommend:

#17 Less Irradiated – Reasons to Explore
This is my biggest recommendation. It gives you more reasons to explore the wasteland and makes areas feel more meaningful instead of just places you quickly pass through.
#3 Minutemen Survival Caves – Survival Shelter Network
I also really like this one because it fits extremely well with a survival playthrough and gives you additional options while exploring.

Everything else is optional. You absolutely do not need to buy anything to enjoy this setup.

Playstyle & Purpose
This setup is designed around a realistic survival roleplay experience.

My planned playstyle is a stealth sniper build using VATS when needed, but also playing without VATS depending on the situation.

Some mods make the game much more dangerous. For example, with increased headshot damage, getting hit in the head can be deadly, especially early in the game. Combat is much less forgiving and requires more planning.

Radiation is also much more dangerous with Radiation Overhaul installed. The wasteland becomes a much more hostile place, and contaminated areas require preparation, proper equipment, and better resource management. Radiation is no longer something you can simply ignore — it becomes a real survival threat.

At first, Double VATS Range might sound extremely powerful, but with Smart AI installed, enemies can detect and react from much farther away compared to vanilla. This makes the combination feel much more balanced.

I will also be traveling with Dogmeat, which is why I included two mods that improve his experience.

For my character, I chose the female protagonist because I prefer that for roleplay, and because the related perk can also be useful since many enemies in the game are male.

My Goal
This is my first Fallout game and my first Fallout 4 playthrough.
I wanted to create a setup that makes the Commonwealth feel dangerous, immersive, and worth exploring.

My plan is a 300+ hour roleplay playthrough where I take my time and experience everything:
Base game content
All DLCs
Settlements
Exploration
Side quests
Survival gameplay
I would love to hear feedback, suggestions, or improvements from experienced Fallout players.

I’m redownloading fallout on the ps5 and heard there’s lots of good new mods was wondering if anyone had any recommendations I was wanting to have a nukes world overboard character in a zombie apocalypse so any mods that help with that or any good new weapon mods would be appreciated thanks
