membership for 2 pets

i have a fi mini for my mini weenie, and we just got another pup this past month. we were looking at getting him a fi mini as well, but i'm wondering if we would have to pay for an entirely separate membership to do so? wanting them each to have one but paying $400 a year seems a little steep

Gifting old fi collars vs new sign up

I have to fi 3 collars after upgrading my dogs to 3+

My sister has a skittish dog that has run off 2x now.

Is it worth it to gift them to her or just advise her to sign up and get a new 3+?

I ask because she has to pay $99 for 6 months of service regardless but it she goes straight to fi she will pay the same to get new hardware for free.

I would really like to gift these and introduce someone to this service but it would not be in their best Interest and it appears these are now e-waste.

Am I missing something?

Best collar replacement options?

My dog somehow decided to pull her collar off of the charger and chew off the buckles 🙄 I was looking at replacement options, but really don’t want to spend $30 on a new collar. Has anyone been able to fasten their own or find something more affordable, possibly on Etsy?

Disappointed by Fi Mini after less than a week

I've had my Fi Mini since the 23rd June, it's now the 28th and there are a few things I'm not entirely convinced by. Just wondering what other people's experiences are.

Rundown of what's been going on in the 5 days we've had it.

- Seems to show her walks as normal for a bit and then suddenly bee-lining through a random field.

- One of our car journeys showed her fly off into the next town over and stay there until we got to where we were actually going.

- Mileage appears to be random majority of the time, could do the same walk 2 days in a row and it'll show a completely different km than the previous day.

- Today, it tracked her steps but didn't track the actual walk whatsoever. My phone was with me, the app was running in the background like it always is and I had GPS. The tracker however, did not and was showing as offline for the entire time. I turned on lost dog mode to see if that would help and it didn't load up even after 15 minutes so I just turned it off. That in itself is quite worrying considering it's meant to be able to locate your dog in an emergency..

I bought Fi because I'd been recommended it by so many people, and now I'm just left feeling a bit disappointed in it not even a week later. Especially as it's the most expensive subscription for this kind of tracker on the market.

Thoughts? I have contacted customer service but because it's a Sunday I'm having to wait (hopefully) until tomorrow for some sort of non-AI acknowledgement.

Any other GPS trackers that could be better? We have tried Tractive a couple of years ago with some major faults, we also tried Pawfit and that was also pretty useless most of the time 😭

Really poor tech support

Started a chat with the AI bot yesterday about an S3+ that doesn’t charge, had no reply, so gave the tech support number a call today. The agent said they only work billing and activations and I would received a follow up from escalations within a week. What a joke. We were forced to pay double when moving from the S2 into the new S3 subscription model and it came with lower level of support.

Anyone else getting this notification? I've had a Fi collar for about 2 years and never got this before.

Fi trying to charge me $99 to replace a torn silicone band

Long time Fi customer here-- I've been paying $99/yr since 2020, first for a Fi 2 series, which worked fine, albeit I needed to use a third party collar attachment. We bought this Fi Mini as an "upgrade" earlier this year at Costco, but within 5 months the silicone band has torn.

I first spent about 20 minutes with the chatbot on tryfi.com, before it ultimately told me that it's unable to do anything.

I contacted Fi customer service by phone about replacing the band, and after some emali exchanges, they responded:

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the damage to your
Fi Mini. After taking a closer look, we found that the type of damage
reported is unfortunately not covered under warranty.

For 1-year and 2-year prepaid Members:
You have two exclusive options to choose from - please let us know
   which option works best.
    1. Replace your Fi Mini for $99. Your current membership will continue
       uninterrupted.
    2. Receive a Fi Mini for free by renewing your membership term early.
Your new term will begin once your current one ends - you don't
lose any of the membership coverage you've already paid for.

Has anyone else had issues replacing their Fi band?

This is utterly ABSURD to me that they're trying to charge me $99 to replace the Fi band. The band cost what, 50 cents to make?

What the heck is going on here?

New owner, cannot get my Fi Mini to connect to my phone via the setup process. Is this a common problem?

I've hard reset both the device and phone and doublechecked bluetooth is active, but when I run set up it just refuses to pair

Held on to collar by a rubber band

The 3 series unit is held to the collar by a flimsy rubber thing. It's no wonder it fell off my active dog. It can't be located out there in the woods and ponds. The company policy is no replacements for lost devices even though it markets a poorly-designed product. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
