Yesterday night on the Fourth of July, a drunk dollar van driver crashed into our clinic at 8:55pm, nearly killing many. This video shows the corruption of the NYPD and the injustice done to Haitian businesses throughout NYC. We opened @familyhealthservicess in 2023 in hopes of being an anchor for our community. We've treated thousands and treated everybody who walks into our clinic like family. Please google us, read our reviews! The injustice done here last night cannot be overlooked. Please SHARE, SOMETHING IS HAPPENING BEHIND CLOSE DOORS THAT WE CANNOT EVEN COMPREHEND. HELP US BRING AWARENESS TO THIS MISCONDUCT FROM THE NYPD IN THE 70th precinct on 154 Lawrence Avenue, Brookyn NY, 11230 .
Sb: The driver was doing business dollar van with no insurance no plates here on Flatbush. Walks free.
Something is wrong here.
This must be investigated.
Helicopters flying south from Op-Sail to Coney are overhead today!
Post ‘em up!!

Update is the dog is in police custody at the 67th precinct in Flatbush. The next step is taking her to a shelter and being a pit bull she’ll likely get put down quickly. Please share this so we can do something
What other job pays you to stand around on your phone? (the woman took out another cellphone, probably a work phone, but still).

I'm putting together a list of bars/venues that host a weekly (or at least semi-regular) open craft night for this hobby-centric newsletter, and before I drive myself crazy looking at the calendars of every venue out there, hoping crowdsourcing here might help!
(Note: I have no affiliation with any of these businesses, paid or otherwise)
Do you know of any others to add to this list? Thanks in advance!!
So far I have:
Update: went back to check on her and a neighbor informed me that the police picked her up
Does anyone know whose dog this is? On Oakland Pl and Albemarle. Been around here since early this morning. Has a collar but I can’t tell if there is any identification. No one on the street recognizes this dog. It seemed like she was left on someone’s porch. I tried calling 311 and Animal Cares NYC but seems they won’t do anything if she’s not already contained / tied up. I’m worried because it’s getting hot with the heat wave coming this week. Someone gave her some water but she needs to be somewhere cooler.
Hey neighbors,
Setting up a local neighborhood chapter for a Muslim young adults group (ages 18+) right here in the Flatbush area to organize regular community gatherings and activities.
What we are organizing locally:
Everything we do is community-focused, local, and completely free to attend.
How to get involved: If you live in or around Flatbush and want to stay updated on our next local meetup, drop a comment below or send a quick DM for the group chat info!
Hi everyone. I feel aweful fo asking for help like this, but I'm in a tight spot and could use a hand getting through the next few weeks.
I've been working as a homecare worker for cash, and I recently lost that work unexpectedly. I'm an immigrant without a work permit, so cash jobs is all I can do. the good news is that this is temporary because I'm moving to Providence in September to start school. I'll have funding once I'm there. I just have to bridge the gap until then.
The problem is that losing my income this suddenly means I'm coming up short on rent in a few days, on top of needing to cover food for me and my cat. I'm about 700$ short of that amount, 500$ would due, but 700$ would buy me the breathing room to find new cash work to cover my August rent and my move to Rhode Island
If you're able to chip in anything, it would mean a lot. Thank you for reading either way.
Happening now at Woodruff Ave and Ocean Ave. The murals are being protected with plywood. I'm weirdly attached to the sad Batman they've got painted on the wall haha
Hey neighbors!
A few of us are organizing a new 18+ soccer club, and we’re trying to get some local players from the neighborhood involved.
We are building this to be a city-wide community, hosting matches at fields across Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn to make it easy for everyone to catch a game regardless of where you are commuting from or hanging out that week.
The Details:
To keep things community-first and respect the local subreddit rules, I'm not dropping external links or ads here.
If you’re down to play or want info on our upcoming games, drop a comment below or shoot me a DM! I'd love to get you connected to the group.

Where are we meeting to watch Panama's game tomorrow in NYC?
I usually go to Michelle's Cocktail Lounge but it appears that they have a 75 person limit for the game and American Dream Mall is a bit too far/expensive to make our way over....

Hey Flatbush,
I wanted to share an update with everyone who supported Daisy’s Cafe NYC over the past year.
Unfortunately, Daisy’s Cafe NYC has permanently closed.
Opening the cafe was a dream of mine. I started it with very little money but a lot of passion and a goal of creating a welcoming coffee shop for the Flatbush community. The support from neighbors, regulars, and local businesses meant the world to me.
Like many small businesses, we faced significant financial and operational challenges that ultimately made it impossible to continue operating. While I wish the outcome had been different, I’m grateful for the experience and for everyone who was part of the journey.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who stopped by for a coffee, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, or simply supported us along the way. Your support never went unnoticed.
This isn’t goodbye to Flatbush. I still love this neighborhood and hope to return in the future with another project.
In the meantime, I’ll continue my work through Brewed By Jose LLC, focusing on coffee consulting, training, workshops, and catering throughout NYC.
Thank you, Flatbush.

Hi there! I just moved into a great apartment in Flatbush, 4 bed 1 bath with a small kitchen/living room. I am living with friends from college. The apartment has two rooms much smaller and two rooms much bigger. One room is 8x12 feet, one room 8x11 feet with fireescape access, both of those rooms have small closets. The smaller rooms are 6x8 feet and 5x7 feet, both more dorm-room sized and WITHOUT closets. I have no idea how much to split the rent across the bigger and smaller rooms, especially with the small differences in size between the two small rooms and two big rooms.
Rent is $3860. Right now we are doing
biggest room - $990
big room - $990
small room - $900
smallest room - $800
I dont think this is exactly fair, I think the small room should pay a little less and the biggest room should pay a little more, but is $200/month a fair enough price difference from the smallest to biggest room? should it be more or less?
