Bit of context PC was bought from a family friend with no issues approx 4 weeks ago started fine but with only 8gb of ram couldn’t run a lot then started to crash and BDOS errors to the point it was happening after every start up. Followed chat GPT troubleshooting and then a friend who works with pc’s said just reinstall windows but I now cannot. Here is a summary of all the things I have done. Any help would be very very very greatly appreciated!!!!!
I have listed chronologically all of the issues and repairs. Again any help would be fantastic from everyone.
>!The important error history!<
The errors we’ve now seen across the whole investigation include:
Unexpected system restarts
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x7E)
ntfs.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50)
Previous LiveKernelEvent 1A8
NVIDIA driver-related crashes/installation issues
Windows Recovery/Quick Machine Recovery loops
BitLocker recovery/boot issues following the earlier BIOS changes
Where that leaves us
The biggest finding is that the problem predates the current Windows installation and has now occurred during multiple clean Windows installation attempts.
We’ve therefore moved away from:
“Corrupted Windows installation”
towards:
“Something at the hardware/firmware level is intermittently corrupting or crashing Windows.”
The remaining hardware suspects are primarily motherboard/PCIe, CPU/memory controller, GPU, PSU and RAM, with the SSD currently looking considerably less suspicious based on the checks we’ve performed.
And importantly, we have not found evidence that the 931 GB or 238 GB storage drives are the cause, and we have deliberately avoided formatting them.

What we did
Result
13 July 2026
BIOS changes caused Windows/BitLocker boot problems
Investigated BIOS after enabling Secure Boot/fTPM for Windows 11
BIOS/boot configuration became unstable; BitLocker recovery was repeatedly triggered
13 July
Secure Boot / fTPM issue
Checked CSM, Secure Boot, OS Type, PK state and fTPM
fTPM was eventually recognised as ready; Secure Boot/PK configuration remained problematic
13–14 July
BitLocker recovery loop
Checked BitLocker with manage-bde, including protection status and key protectors
Key protectors existed; protection status showed Off at one point; encryption was around 14.8%
14 July
Windows boot looked abnormal
Restarted after BitLocker changes
Windows eventually booted, but initial boot resolution looked stretched/pixelated
14 July
Fortnite/game instability
Investigated Windows/BIOS state following the BIOS changes
Game still froze/crashed, suggesting the problem wasn’t simply Fortnite
14 July
TPM configuration
Checked TPM/fTPM and PCR validation
TPM reported ready; PCR profile included 0, 2, 4
14–15 July
Secure Boot/BIOS configuration
Worked through ASUS BIOS settings including Windows UEFI mode, CSM, Secure Boot and fTPM
Eventually established a working UEFI configuration, but the wider system instability remained
17 Aug
PC suddenly restarting while sitting on desktop
PC was restarting without warning and returning to Windows lock screen
Established this wasn’t only happening during gaming/heavy load
17 Aug
Repeated BSOD/recovery environment
Windows Recovery showed Continue / Turn off PC / Quick Machine Recovery / Troubleshoot
Recovery options were investigated; Reset was avoided
17–18 Aug
Windows installation/recovery
Created a Windows 11 USB from Win11_25H2_English_x64_v2.iso on the SanDisk USB
USB successfully created and verified
18 Aug
Windows installer
Split the 7.1 GB install.wim into .swm files because FAT32 couldn’t hold it
install.swm ~3.9 GB and install2.swm ~3.1 GB successfully created
18 Aug
Boot USB
Verified EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI existed
USB was bootable
18 Aug
Windows Setup
Initially selected Windows installation rather than repair
Installation proceeded
18 Aug
Windows installation
Deleted the old Disk 0 Windows partitions when instructed, leaving Disk 0 unallocated
Windows began a clean installation
18 Aug
Installation reached ~75–80%
First major clean-install crash
BSOD: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x7E); ntfs.sys
18 Aug
Recovery/installer loop
Windows Setup repeatedly returned to the “upgrade vs clean installation” prompt
Established the installer USB was being booted again rather than a completed Windows installation
18 Aug
RAM investigation
Confirmed original crashes occurred with 2 × 4 GB, then tested 16 + 4 GB, then 16 GB alone
Crashes persisted; 16 GB alone was running at 2133 MHz
18 Aug
RAM slot
Moved 16 GB Corsair Vengeance from B1 → A1
BIOS detected 16,384 MB DDR4 at 2133 MHz normally
18 Aug
Second clean installation
Started Windows installation with 16 GB alone
Installation reached ~77%
18 Aug
Second major BSOD
Installation crashed
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50)
18 Aug
SSD/filesystem investigation
Checked Samsung 860 EVO with filesystem scan
Windows reported no filesystem problems and 0 KB in bad sectors
18 Aug
SSD SMART
Checked SMART failure prediction
FALSE for the drives checked
18 Aug
SSD/SATA
Disconnected/reconnected Samsung 860 EVO SATA connection
SSD was still correctly detected
18 Aug
BIOS configuration
Established current baseline
CSM Disabled, Windows UEFI Mode, AHCI, fTPM Enabled, Erase fTPM NV Disabled, PBO Auto

6-pin PCIe power securely connected
18 Aug
GPU/PCIe
Checked Above 4G, Resizable BAR and SR-IOV
Above 4G Enabled, SR-IOV Disabled, Resizable BAR initially Auto
18 Aug
Resizable BAR test
Temporarily changed Resizable BAR Auto → Disabled
No improvement
18 Aug
Third clean installation
Tested Windows installation with Resizable BAR disabled
Crashed much earlier, around 30%
18 Aug
Third major BSOD
Same installation test
Again SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x7E) / ntfs.sys
18 Aug
Resizable BAR
Restored setting
Auto
18 Aug
CPU/BIOS
Checked Ryzen 5 3600 configuration
3.6 GHz, ~1.37 V live reading, PBO Auto

Established PC can remain in BIOS for a long period without crashing
I had newly setup windows 11 in my laptop and Ms store and settings are not able to access internet . I have tried 3 times clean install windows but everytime same results through a usb drive created through windows installation media. I have tried deleting and reinstalling ms store through some command from internet in powershell but nothing changes .
Windows update on setting says " **We couldn't connect to the update service We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesnot work make sure internet is connected"** even if all the time my internet is connected briwsing is possible downloading software is happening.
Its windows 11 25H2 from media creation tool.
Help me if anybody know the solution .
Thanks in advance.
My older dual boot Windows 10/Windows XP computer was working great. The CMOS chip died so I went ahead and replaced it. Unfortunately, I forgot to reset the BIOS to Legacy and tried to boot it several times, it tried automatic repair each time. Now it looks like I corrupted the Windows 10 boot record. It now continuously tries automatic repair and won’t boot. I tried and everything anything I could find on the Internet, nothing seems to work. I would love to be able to keep all of my files and just get it to boot again. Any help would be appreciated. For reference it’s a Dell Optiplex 755.
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a JYX microphone and I'm having a very strange problem with it on my desktop PC.
When I connect the microphone to the PC via USB:
My motherboard is an ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0, BIOS P10.60.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any idea what could be causing this?
Whenever I try to run a full scan, windows security(defender) stops working and the blue progression thing disappears when it's like 25 minutes left or 35 minutes as you can see in the image... I have updated everything... Windows 11... Please help...
I installed Linux as one of my friends suggested and I deleted win11, I now don't want to use Linux anymore and every single time I try to download win11 this happens, I have no idea what I am doing wrong, I installed the iso file from the original source, used ventoy as a tutorial said, I did everything correctly but for some reason this keeps happening I tried everything, and when I try to wimboot it goes to windows installer and it says I don't have drivers, can any1 help?

Hey, so, I've been on vacation with my family and I've been using my mom's laptop which has windows 11.
Thing is that I closed the bluetooth icon in the minitask bar (bottom right), because it annoyed me, but I DIDN'T unisnstalled it.
Thing is, that now my mom needs the bluetooth and the computer says that the bluetooth function does not exist in it, which makes no sense. I've downloaded the bluetooth manager from the microsoft store, nothing, it doesn't work. Now she's mad with me.
How can I "Install" the bluetooth function again?
i deleted the folder after a little bit of research online which said that it wasn’t required and can be deleted if it takes up too much storage. right after deleting it my taskbar had stopped working and i’ve tried plenty of fixes but have had zero solutions and i’m unsure if my pc is just ruined.
I did a clean install of windows 11 and forgot i had two boot on on different drives. Didnt know which was which so I booted i to the one on my HDD. Instant regret and restarted pc. Switch to the correct boot on my NVMe and now Microsoft wont sign me in because I dont remember password and they wont send me a verification code. What do I even do?
I dont know what build of windows 11 its running but I installed clean install from a USB I had used a year or two ago to change to windows 11 from 10.
Sorry for my french but my pc is said to be incompatible with W11, here are my specs:
Processeur AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core 3.6 GHz;
Carte graphique RTX 2070 super, (Gigabyte OC 3X 8G Geforce);
Mémoire RAM 2 x 8 Gb DDR4-3200 CL16 (T-Force Vulcan Z);
Mémoire 1 TB SSD (Voir les photos);
Carte mère Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (Avec adaptateur pour réseau sans fil).
Where can the problem originate, this is a 2020 build and this pisses me off :)
I am writing code on Windows, and I can't access the public endpoint for NUGET (a .NET package repository).
When I go to the API URL in the browser, I get "ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH", when I expect a json file, or some HTTP error.
I used SSLlabs test to see what is supported, and Get-TlsCipherSuite in powershell to see what my machine supports. Both sides support TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 and TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384
Windows registry `HKLM SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols` has no subfolders, Windows 11 supports TLS 1.2 and 1.3 by default, idk if the keys are needed.
EventViewer shows multiple errors with "Schannel" source, for many different client processes:
```
A fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential. The internal error state is 10013.
The SSPI client process is OneDrive (PID: 33100).
```
My app is published on Azure Marketplace, and *somehow* that account keeps getting added automatically to "Accounts > Access Work or School" in Windows, idk if that can have an effect.
What else can I check or disable on my machine to restore nuget access?
So i have this drive that has an install of windows 10 from 2016. Im trying to get around the passwords. I know about the utilman work around, but that requires recovery mode or safe mode. Whatever it may be, i can't get into it. There isnt a power menu button anywhere.
I think I could boot ubuntu to access the files, because that's ultimately what I'm trying to do. But, my ubuntu USB is busted and I dont have a chance to make a new one for a while. Would it be even worth it to side boot? Would the files are encrypted? Id not, ill just side boot Linux when I can. I am out of ideas.
If I can use the utilman exploit, I would prefer that, but if anyone has any other ideas, I'd really appreciate the help.
So I might be asking a few dumb questions but I feel I just need help with this.
So I bought a windows 10 license key many years back for my at the time nee built PC. Ive upgraded to Win11 last year guessing that the same key is merged.
Now the issue is my dumbass when installing windows, used a microsoft account that isnt really active other then spam emails etc, (I've had the account since I was 12 lol) this account is an administrator account and I use it for my laptop aswell.
So the main point.
Is the license key attached to my old Microsoft account ? If so, how does one check?
Can I transfer the key to my current (Newer) account?
Can I use my current account as the main sign in on my PC and laptop, and completely remove my dated account. Would I have to set my current account as administrator aswell for that to work?
An question I can answer is yes I have access to my old Microsoft account. Just recently its been spammed with scare emails saying my account has been compromised lol thus is why I want to get the key transferred.
Sorry for the dumb questions, just my anxiety just is making me feel confused when looking all this up.
Thanks!
I use window 11 on my ryzen 5 5600gt but you can see that even without any app open window only window use around 5.1 gb on my 8 gb ram on this how can I fix high window usage because ram price are too high too buy another on I already do some that taught on yt but its not work so please some suggestion to fix this
I’m not sure what else to say about this. I tried going to the Windows support number only to meet an AI that talked in a circle for 30 minutes instead of actually helping me. I talked to one of my friends who is trained and such and basically got "Yeah, everything is fucked”
at the start of the morning I woke up to the laptop, despite having automatic updates or just generally updates even turned on to happen; it was auto-updating. I could not stop it from happening, and when I finally managed to get my device to turn back on, I literally could not do anything after I logged in for at-least five minutes. I couldn’t click on any of my apps, as well as not being able to even close out any apps that I have that auto-start. I can't click on the taskbar to open up task manager to try and figure out what is happening. It has progressively gotten worse to the point where I literally cannot even type in the login screen; I cannot even put in my password at all. I am stuck here, staring at a laptop that does not fucking work anymore, consistently getting Microsoft support that does not help or tells me to go to the website that also has not fucking helped me.
Before anyone suggested it, I had tried multiple times to boot into safe mode or security mode or whatever the fuck it’s called with the multiple methods I’ve been told and the ones I looked up, and it literally just won't.
I keep getting this error while isntalling windows 11, i installed windows a few times in the past and i had no problem. Now im doing it on an older pc, but nothing is working out, The motherboard is an asus h110m-a with the newest bios update installed, i just changed the cpu too, its an i5-7500. I already tried evrything enabled/disbled csm, i installed the required windows 11 sata driver for the ssd but when i select it ist says error installing driver, so it doesent worked etheir. In the cmd i can see the ssd and everything reconises the ssd except the windows installer. Please help if u can as soon as possible, Thank you!
Today, after performing normal routine checks for updates to the apps I have installed on my PC, I noticed that after running the WINGET UPGRADE command, the command returned an update for the MICROSOFT UPDATE HEALTH TOOLS package from version 3.74.0.0 (installed on 16/01/2026, with Windows 10 itself), to the apparently new version 5.69.
I would like to point out that to date WINGET has NEVER suggested updating this application.
What should I do? I know it's a silly question, but what happens if I don't want to update this application?
Will Windows figure it out on its own and will it disappear from WINGET's update suggestions, or does this application have to be updated?
By the way, I'm on Windows 10, 22H2 build: 19045.7663 (KB5120249).
