Still apartment hunting and came across a couple options, all seem to have mixed reviews which is understandable but overall excited for the move. Any recommendations for moving to the area I should know of? Areas to avoid living in, general cost of living, what to be prepared for, what the cultures like etc. I look forward to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Hi guys, I need help. My anniversary is coming up and I want to do something local but special. We are both from here originally and wanted to do something to kind of celebrate that… we do our best to love where we are, even if it’s not where we’d love to be. Things we have talked about are a romantic intimate wine and oysters or charcuterie with a nice view (beach, restaurant, water, a towel on the beach at night), a *nice* sushi spot with ambience that isn’t the same old experience (we are huge foodies, and have tried most spots), we also toyed around with getting a hotel room on the beach at Sanibel or fmb - but being locals we can’t afford to stay at all the spots lol. I would love to hear any ideas. Bonus points if we can either be close to home in the cape or in a hotel for the secondary celebration, if you catch my drift. We are trying to keep it semi affordable but also want it to be special so we could splurge a bit - we were considering $250 hotel rooms. I’d love to hear any ideas or suggestions!

I’m trying to find current info on the water quality at the causeway island. Everything I see is from over a week ago.

New to the area and looking to join a street hockey league. Anyone have any recommendations on where there might be a league/pick up played? Thanks!

Just seeing if anyone’s got anything going on for the 4th today or tonight and wouldn’t mind an extra person joining. I’m down for pretty much anything BBQ, pool, hanging out, fireworks, bar, whatever. Just looking to get out and be social for a bit. My company is transferring me to the area next month and I need to figure out where to look for a house. I have a young family, so safety and decent backyard space are our main priorities. Any areas we should focus on or completely avoid?

taking my mans out for a normal date night. nothing fancy but looking for some place with a nice atmosphere and most importantly delicious food. i get easily overwhelmed when i try to pick out a place. he is an amazing cook and he will love anything if it’s done right, whether it’s an authentic dish or something with a creative spin. we are both fm natives but I’m not nearly as much a foodie as my better half. tysm

EDIT - tysm for the replies! We ended up going to Orange Pepper next to Mona Lisa which was 11/10 date spot could not recommend enough, it used to be called thai gardens and I wasn’t *crazy* about the old establishment but this place was amazing.

This place is such a crime area. Auto insurance is up because of theft here. Dirty streets, store fronts. Place has no class whatsoever. Lee County in general is the pits.

I have a 4 month old black lab rot mix puppy now but she will need to be groomed eventually anyone recommend a good dog groomer that does the works?? nail trimming everything etc for a good price? Thank you

So I've been out of work since last november despite applying & contacting hundreds of places across lee county, with no luck. I am very hard working, reliable, punctual, and willing to train & learn. I would ideally like to get into the property management industry as a leasing agent or alternatively as a receptionist as my primary background is in Administrative type work. But I have some prior retail experience as well.

I am available Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm and Weekends 9am to 3pm, if I do not have a job in the next month or two I could be potentially homeless, and am desperate for a job at this point. If ANYONE could provide a lead, reach out with an opportunity, or ideally speak to their leasing offices for me, that would be incredible.

Hi all! I (22F) may be relocating to Fort Myers from up north pending a job offer at a university. How is the area for young professionals? Are there any specific apartment complexes I should look into or stay away from?
I know I’ve seen quite a few posts about how the area isn’t the best for young professionals but I’m really excited about this position and want to make sure I’ll be happy there. I won’t have any friends or family in the area so I’ll be starting all new!
