Forex fees are insanely high for no reason. Complain

I started investing with freetrade back in 2020 in an ISA account which I used to pay for (no need to pay now, but with other providers never needed to pay).

I chose Freetrade because it seemed like an honest broker with no commissions, low fees, and despite you having to pay for the ISA I valued the transparency of the app and the fact that they didn’t “go down” during the GME fiasco.

Built my portfolio to a very sizeable amount, and I’m now considering leaving because their forex fees are INSANELY high. 1% if you’re on the free plan. And if you pay they’re still higher than other brokers… which you don’t even need to pay.

So I’m writing this to ask FreeTrade to re-consider their forex fees as I know I’m not the only one with this sentiment, and if they’re not reconsidered I’ll be migrating my ISA else where and give the same advice to my community. I know in the grand scheme of things, a few accounts with a few millions are worth nothing for freetrade. But I hope people can realise how stupidly expensive 1% is.

When will we see more Gilt offerings?

When Freetrade added Gilts to what they offer, they had a limited offering of 9 different ones. That was over a year ago and TY25 and T26 have now matured, so they only have 7 left. Two more are due to mature in 2028, with no news about adding any more. Even the AI assistant says no current plans to add.

Anyone else have gilts, anyone else want more options? You can request new funds via the help page, but not sure how useful that is. There are 70 different gilts and not expecting them all, but it would be nice if they replaced ones that matured and aimed to slowly increase the variety on offer. With so many different ones you would think those requesting will dilute demand by all choosing different favourite ones.

Please Freetrade can we have some more.

Freetrade index TER fees higher than official fund figures

Has anybody noticed that the TER data for some Vanguard indices on Freetrade are higher than the index provider's documentation states? For example, Vanguard emerging markets accumulation (VEHG) is 0.17% on the Vanguard webpage but the Freetrade app is showing as 0.21%. Similarly, Vanguard shows VWRP as 0.19% but the Freetrade app has 0.21%. Others seems to be correct, though, such as VHVG correctly showing at 0.12%.

Vanguard Target Retirement 2050

Hi everyone

I don’t really want to open a Freetrade account just to be able to see the list of Vanguard target retirement funds Freetrade offer, but I’m trying to find out if the Vanguard target retirement fund 2050 is available on Freetrade SIPP? Google is giving me conflicting information.

I can see of Freetrade’s website an article from September 2025 stating they do Vanguard TR but the 2050 is missing from the list.

Thank you very much.

Is Freetrade Fixing their UI ?

After the outrage from the horrible UI and brand update in Summer 2025.

Is there any confirmation that they will fix it, not necessarily go back to the old version, but at least clean up the app.

the app right now looks clunky, tacky, the monospace font looks shit.

I really like freetrade simplicity, no noise, an actual focus on just investing not any short term derivative trading.

But the app ui is so bad.

does anyone know if they will change this or update this?

New to the app - what is it like?

Hello all

I just opened a Freetrade SIPP, what’s the platform like to use?

This was one of the only SIPP’s that I found where I can partially transfer another pension into!

Why is the price not updating for an hour now?

Just trying to check the price for VUAG and it shows the price from yesterday. It’s been an hour and still showing the old price. I haven’t seen the delay be this bad before.

When you sell an ETF do the funds become available immediately to trade?

I’m looking to sell some of my position in VWRP tomorrow morning. I can’t find anywhere on the UI that states if the proceeds become available to me immediately to trade or if I wait to wait for settlement.

Does anyone know?
