Hello, wise Reaper power users.

I love the workflow of opening an audio sample and running MK Slicer to create slices at a handful of transients, then arming midi input in that sliced audio so I can trigger the slices using a midi keyboard. (Arpeggios are super fun to experiment with.)

Now I want to do the exact same thing, but using a video file instead of an audio sample. In my head, if I get the right number of transients and trigger it nicely it will be possible to make something that looks a little bit like Upular (or at least be the beginning of something that I can tweak..)

Sadly, MK Slicer only seems to support audio samples rather than video. (Or rather, it slices the audio and ignores the video).

Is there another plugin that works in a similar way and would let me decide what to do with each midi trigger in a video clip? Or a combination of plugins I can bodge together?

First I mix two parts shredded paper & cardboard with one part coffee grounds (from my local cafe) and one part sawdust, plus whatever charcoal I have kept from burning wood in my stove.

Next I soak it overnight, then whisk it with a drill mixer attachment. I like to then leave it overnight again and mix it once more, to create a softer mix.

A briquette maker squeezes out the water, then just stack them in the sun for a few weeks.

The mixture can be tailored to whatever you have to hand. In the past I’ve gone for equal parts cardboard, coffee grounds and sawdust and that works fine too.

When burned, it’s very similar to wood in terms of heat, burn time and ash content. (Definitely not as good as oak, but better than pine!)

Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to the Cairngorms. Absolutely stunning scenery, and great company for a 3 day adventure. Camping on Loch Avon and waking up to sunshine was a real highlight.

Following a recent tumble (photo 1) I gave the clutch case a light brushing with a wire brush and a scotch-brite pad (photo 2) yesterday. Today, I took the badge off and gave it a more thorough sanding with some 100 grit wet&dry sandpaper (photo 3).

Since there are still some pretty deep scratches I think I’m going to have a go getting them out with some coarse sandpaper (maybe even a file? Dremel?) and work up to the scotch-brite again.

I’m safe to do this, right? I’ve never taken the case off so I’m not sure what the construction is like. It’s not going to surprise me by being paper thin?

I have a replacement badge ready to go on too.
