What a great pistol. Punches way above its price point.

What a great pistol. Punches way above its price point.
So I didn't clean it and went straight to the range... I know, I should have cleaned it, but I was excited!
It is the comp and ported version and I was running a CCI Speer 9mm 115 gr FMJ and did not extract a single one.. it went from a semi auto hand gun to a rack action gun .
When I threw in my defense ammo Federal Law Enforcement 9mm Ammo 115 Grain +P+ it ran flawlessly.. and holy shit this round normally kicks.. but it was flat and glorious.
I am assuming the fact I did not clean/lube the gun did not help, because when I got home and did clean/lube it is a bit smoother.
I also ordered the spring kit online, i am thinking with the comp + porting the room for errors cycling gets thin.
I was quite disappointed after my range visit, but after cleaning and lubing and a little reflecting I am ready to own a gun that might require tweeking.
I do love the feel of the gun, and shooting the +p+ was a dream.. I just can't trust it yet to be my bedside gun, but I am confident I will get there.Or I am drunk on copium... Time will tell
I now have 2. Excellent 2011’s!
I recently picked up my new Fusion Firearms XP 3C. I pre-ordered it but had some questions on how it fit in my small hands. Now that I have it, I am sharing some details that may help others make a more informed decision if anyone is interested in getting this. I also included pictures that I am hoping are helpful.
Please note that I have not live-fired this yet to comment on performance.
Model: XP 3C w/ ambi thumbledge (https://fusionfirearms.com/xp-3c-9mm-black-12)
Dimensions:
6.7 inches length, including the beaver tail, the slide overall length came in at 5.525
0.97 inches on slide width, 0.98 including the thumbledges
5 inches in height, 4.9 at the front of the rear sight
1.275 inches is the grip width, I think the website says 1.3 and that is accurate if you round up.
5.75 inches grip circumference, measured from just under the grip safety
2.2 inches from the bottom of the trigger guard to the bottom of the magwell
Weight:
30.15oz with no magazine, 31.5oz with an empty Glock 19 Gen 5 OEM magazine. For those of you who may not know, this model has a steel slide, a steel frame, and an aluminium grip. Unlike many other 2011/DS1911 models which combine a steel slide, aluminum frame and polymer grip.
Note on magazine compatibility: In addition to the Fusion OEM magazines, which seem modeled like the KCI Glock-styled magazines, I bought Glock 19 Gen 5 OEM magazines. Gen 5 specifically because those are also steel-lined like the Fusion OEM and I've heard that those do not give any issues. They fit great and seem to function well but I have not tested them yet on live fire.
Holster Compatibility:
Still exploring this. It does not fit the holsters for my Staccato C2. That said, H Kydex Holsters (https://hkholster.com/es-us) has a holster for this (both IWB and hybrid IWB with no light). I also saw on IG (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbwQ1CuoZPG/) that the QVO tactical 2011 holster fits and, with a note on the order, they can cut it to fit this particular model. Other than that I have not seen other dedicated holsters, or light bearing holsters that would fit this.
Subjective notes:
- Trigger pull: I have not measured (hence the subjectivity), but comparing with other pistols with 5+ and 3lbs of weight, this one feels close to a 4lbs weight out of the box.
- Grip texture: You can tell on-hand that the grip is metal, and the texturing is aggressive. It feels fantastic and, while I have not live fired this yet, I can tell this ain't slipping. I also have not carried this yet so I cannot comment on how it feels while on the holsters when you carry it around through the day.
- Handling: I have small lady hands, and this feels like a comfortable grip to me. I can access the magazine release without breaking my grip, although it would be slightly easier with an extended mag catch. That said, is more than I can say with other 2011/DS1911 models. With the grip being shorter, my tiny hands can still fit all my fingers comfortably with some space to spare. In combination with the grip texture, it feels really good in hand and I do not mind the heavier weight. I actually like that is heavier on hand. I carry a Staccato C2 with an extra mag on a T1C Apx holster, and although that one is slightly lighter, I do not think I will personally mind carrying this slightly heavier version. Specially, if I keep a smaller set up with no extra mag, which was my original intention.
- Smoothness of the slide: Buttery. Out of the box and without lubing it feels much smoother than my other 2011.
- Slide texture: Feels grippy, the pattern feels aggressive enough
- Thumbledges: Thubledges add maybe 1mm to the overall slide width. The texturing is similar to the one on the slide but on a broader surface. Perfect for resting the index finger while off the trigger. I actually ordered the model without these but was somehow "upgraded" to these. I don't mind it so I kept this model.
I have not seen many reviews yet so, after I test it, I'll do another post to share my thoughts and how it runs with different types on ammo and different types of Glock-style mags.
Cheers!
UPDATE: Measured the trigger pull and it came out consistently at 5lbs, out of the box before any live firing.
Fitted a DSC Gunworks x Red Dirt USA Staccato ST Trigger - F1 size to the XP about a year and half ago. Runs great and absolutely slaps. Ive since installed the Prickle dot grip.
This thing just keeps getting better and better. Now to land a comp barrel and get some porting done....
Waiting on my XP Comp to get here and I've been looking around at accessories as I like to tinker. If I look on the FF site, I see the assembly for the XP Pro to add the comp or the monoblock, but is there just a sight block attachment to replace the comp on the XP Comp? the gun description on the site mentions "For added versatility, sight block options are available for those who want to run without the comp but maintain forward weight for balance in competition" and maybe I'm missing something.

How to Get Started
Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/FusionFirearms amazing.
Hello folks
Ok. Help me decide. I’m about to buy my first 2011 (semi experienced shooter). Decided I wanted something in 9mm with a comp. Done the research, watched all the guntubers, and I’m down to a Fusion XP Pro Comp or an Alpha Foxtrot Romulus Comp. If it matters I live in a compliance state so 10 round mag availability is necessary.
I’ve not been able to shoot either as there are no rentals anywhere near me but I have held the XP and it’s fits my hands well
I don’t own any Glocks so the mag compatibility isn’t a factor
Why the XP over the Romulus?
Would love to hear from anyone that has/has shot both
Thanks!
TLDR: I’m just a customer who really likes this gun and this company. The XP Comp has seriously impressed me, and I’m excited to see what Fusion does next.
I’ve only had my XP Comp for a couple months, but I did A LOT of research before pulling the trigger. I spent about half a year renting and shooting 2011s, watching forum discussions, going down the YouTube rabbit hole, comparing different manufacturers, etc. Eventually I decided I wanted to take the leap into something a little more serious without jumping straight into the most expensive options.
And being in California… well, you guys know the struggle and even if you don’t you ve heard of it. Getting into anything firearms-related here requires practically becoming a part-time lawyer.
But I finally got my hands on an XP Comp, and I’m honestly still blown away by it.
I’m at roughly 2,000 rounds over two months now, and this thing has been an absolute workhorse. I originally found myself saying “for the price, this thing is incredible,” but honestly, I’ve gotten to the point where I’d love to put it head-to-head against some of the higher-dollar 2011s and see how they stack up with shooters around my skill level.
I’m definitely not PewView 😂, but I think that’s actually part of what makes this fun. I’m just a regular guy who bought one, shoots it a lot, and genuinely enjoys it.
I also can’t WAIT to get my hands on an XP3C as a carry option, so I’m really glad to see this subreddit/forum back up and running.
Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s builds, experiences, and yes — even the failures. Having a place where owners can actually talk about what works, what doesn’t, and how these guns perform over time is huge.
Fusion, keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve got a very happy customer here. 🤙
