We’re back?… we’re back!
TLDR: I’m just a customer who really likes this gun and this company. The XP Comp has seriously impressed me, and I’m excited to see what Fusion does next.
I’ve only had my XP Comp for a couple months, but I did A LOT of research before pulling the trigger. I spent about half a year renting and shooting 2011s, watching forum discussions, going down the YouTube rabbit hole, comparing different manufacturers, etc. Eventually I decided I wanted to take the leap into something a little more serious without jumping straight into the most expensive options.
And being in California… well, you guys know the struggle and even if you don’t you ve heard of it. Getting into anything firearms-related here requires practically becoming a part-time lawyer.
But I finally got my hands on an XP Comp, and I’m honestly still blown away by it.
I’m at roughly 2,000 rounds over two months now, and this thing has been an absolute workhorse. I originally found myself saying “for the price, this thing is incredible,” but honestly, I’ve gotten to the point where I’d love to put it head-to-head against some of the higher-dollar 2011s and see how they stack up with shooters around my skill level.
I’m definitely not PewView 😂, but I think that’s actually part of what makes this fun. I’m just a regular guy who bought one, shoots it a lot, and genuinely enjoys it.
I also can’t WAIT to get my hands on an XP3C as a carry option, so I’m really glad to see this subreddit/forum back up and running.
Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s builds, experiences, and yes — even the failures. Having a place where owners can actually talk about what works, what doesn’t, and how these guns perform over time is huge.
Fusion, keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve got a very happy customer here. 🤙
Comp cleaning
Bro HOW do you guys clean your compensated areas in the barrel? Did a full strip at 1000 rounds and it took me so long to get the fouling down. Felt like I needed a pickaxe and a gallon of CLP lol.
I’m sure there’s an easier way than what I did please help for next time.
Can’t stop shooting this
1300 rounds down and not a real failure yet! I love this thing. Ignore the bad shooting I just wanted to go fast till the end there lol.
Fusion Firearms XP Comp & Holosun 507 Comp optic mounted
Dry Fire fun
So I picked up these magnetic USPSA 1/6 scale targets to practice at home and I gotta say… it’s been a LOT of fun. My wife also enjoyed being a RO for the night 😅 Photos of the targets below!
Let me know if you guys are interested or have any tips for practice. This is new for me I really was just having fun this go around
This is an issue
TLDR: The C4X is good but it’s not worth it.
Bear with me I want to rant about this cuz to me… this C4X was a good shooter, but in the context of paying $4000 dollary doos it’s horrible. I’ve shot a handful of 2011s now and I’ve been able to understand the price for all of them but THIS to me is a big problem. Staccato pushing the line on how far they can charge for their name is ridiculous. When I shot the C4X I actually said out loud “That’s it?” A carry size pistol that shoots like a full size is great but not $4000 great. If you have one I’m not necessarily trying to yuck your yum but I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around this. The C3.6 shot VERY similarly for nearly half the price. Add to the fact that if you live in a state like California (which is where I reside) the tax on top of it is another pistol. Please rent it for yourself and see but this can’t be the new “standard” like I’ve read for the last couple weeks now
What do you think? Am I too harsh or you guys share a similar experience?
Family Time
Grateful for bonding over how bad we all are lol. My sister shot 3 mags and said “this is not for me” 😅
Get you some time in with them if you can
Practice Advice
I’m getting ready for a classifier I’m shooting in August and need some help for what I can do to prep. This is about as fast as my local range lets me shoot and what I have available regularly around me. Action starts around 20 seconds if you want to skip to that.
Anything I should focus on more than others?
Context: I shoot left handed. I had a hard time not bumping the safety during reloads hence the slow time between mag changes. I can’t draw from the holster at the range so I have to practice that at home. I start in low ready. They do let me have mag changes from the holster at least so I’m going to start bringing my 140mm ones for that. I had 2 mags in my pocket for this since I didn’t bring my belt.
Using a fusion firearms xp comp (I have a monoblock I’ll use to be in LO).
My worst fear…
Brothers.. it is possible a gun can shoot too good. My experience is being ruined for my other handguns now it is just… SO easy to shoot this thing compared to everything else. I don’t even wanna stop shooting ohmygoodness PRECIOUS LAAAAWD (I was singing I was so impressed lol)
Now I have to see about a carry model cuz I’m in love with the 2011s
Kimber 2k11 CA Variant
Here to join in on the reporting of the 2k11 coming to California! Excited for it and already trying to justify why I need one 😅
There are many like it
But this one is mine. Can’t wait to put shots down range with this bad boy! Also got the monoblock for LO in USPSA. Got my classifier in August so plenty of time to practice
Just a tease.. Range Time

Yay or Nay
Guys I Know… AI.. but it gave me the visual.
Thinking of doing an FDE/bronze build but not sure how to go about it without doing too much. Might be overthinking it but I always wanted a shades of brown setup
Keep it as is or go for new look
Slowly but surely
We’re getting there! I tried my hand in painting an optic to match the rmr FDE/bronze color but I’m back to the drawing board with that one. Didn’t come out how I hoped. Now I need to stipple, rework frame, and pray to baby Jesus I get the right color combo for the red dot.
Upgraded to fiber optic suppressor height sights, installed TTI magwell and baseplate, installed aggressive arms copper pins. Been a lot of fun turning my first handgun into this beaut
How to sell firearms from California
So I’m looking to offload some guns and parts I don’t use or need. I know gafshub is a thing but I realized I’ve never actually sold anything from our state just bought. Reading up on the laws I have to do local face-to-face or FFL transfer even when selling outside the state (if it sells out of state)?
Looking to get insight from anyone who’s familiar with the process. Also looking to sell ammo which I assume is a similar process
New to Competition
Hey all. I been shooting for a decent amount of time and been itching to try my hand in some matches. I have USPA, IDPA, and 3-gun available near me so I’d love to try my hand in one or all of em but need help getting started.
I’m vaguely aware that there’s different groups depending on what you’re shooting (I have a Glock 17/34 & a Fusion Firearms XP Comp w/ a monoblock that I’d use) but I have a variety of guns I’d try depending on recommendation or rules.
What gear setup do I need though? I have plenty of mags and CCW setups but nothing for competition. Im wrong handed as well so that limits some of my options through companies. I’m also a big guy getting smaller if that matters. Down 40 pounds but still a lot to go.
Appreciate any info you guys can dish out!
We’re gonna need a bigger boat
Seriously I have zero room left in this cabinet between the rifles and parts, mags, ammo, etc. Might install a shelf where the light sits but that’d be it.
Love it though. Has everything I need and is a slight deterrent for some overspending 😅
Now we wait
Of all the ones I’ve waited for, this is gonna be the longest! First “2011”
Some Training in Utah
Was on vacation in Utah for a friend’s wedding and took the opportunity to do a training class with a retired USPA pro. Lot of great tips and training got to take part in. Happy for the help and it was a ton of fun!
Skip to 2:22 for the not California fun 😅
Enjoy.
