First Time Playing MACE and Just Met the Soviet Battle Bus

First Time Playing MACE and Just Met the Soviet Battle Bus

I just got the game and I'm still learning in skirmish mode, but the land-Potemkin was the absolute last thing I was expecting to see roll up. I mean what's the counter to this??? I'm letting two heroic AIs slug it out while I mainly play a support role to learn how the units play. This game's also a great Battlefield-style shooter with a good first-person mod, I'm absolutely loving it so far.

Operation Cobra.. God Damn

New player here

Went through first two USA missions for liberation relatively well, and now I’m on this one

Holy shit am I not prepared

Got the first 3 points really well, just used my observer to shell the AT guns and moved in with infantry and vehicle to mop up.

Now on my way to the fourth point, I take out a few of the anti tank guns surrounding it and take up positions ready to attack.

BUT whenever I destroy this one specific AT gun, the Germans fucking divert all their forces on the Eastern Front and the surrounding areas to come fuck me up. And they are great at doing it.

The second it’s destroyed, I get absolutely pummelled by artillery that I can’t see the origin of, but definitely out of reach from my mortars and observer which usually takes out most of my infantry in 3 shots because apparently Germany discovered GPS guided shells during the war

Then a shit load jagdpanzers come out to play and I can’t pen them from the front with my anti tank or my tanks for that matter, and if I go and try to flank them from the sides, I end up in Vietnam because the trees and bushes start shooting at my tanks with anti tank guns or there will be another tank hidden nearby.

My anti tank guns? They don’t exist. The moment they fire a shell they get destroyed by pinpoint artillery or the Jagdpanzers delete them. My AT infantry? They already died in the first artillery bombardment.

Honestly, what do I do? I really like this game but sometimes it feels impossible which is obviously a skill issue on my part.

Do I pull all my units back and try to defend in a different area and trigger the German counter attack by destroying the AT gun?

Does the counter attack stop? Or will it only stop if I capture the 4th point?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Admiration of this masterpiece

I've been searching for quite a while for an RTS that hits hard, is involved and detailed. I even bought Broken Arrow a while back. Even though I enjoyed it, it just didn't feel right for me.

I saw GoH a while back on YouTube and thought that it looked fun but didn't buy it straight away as I was unsure and didn't want to spend money on another RTS that I'll play for 10 to 20 hours then never play again.

The steam summer sale comes around and what's on sale GoH. I thought why not, I'll give it a go. After 10 hours I was hooked and bought all the DLC.

I'm in love with this game and have finally got on to my days off so I can spend a damn good amount of time getting used to it and learning what I can do.

Thank you to the developers and this community for being so involved.

See you on the front lines!

I added Girls und Panzer sounds to GoH

I bought the game a month ago and I've had a ton of fun playing it! After trying many great mods by the community, I decided to try making a mod myself and this is the result!

You can find the mod on Steam Workshop, the name is Girls und Panzer Sound Overhaul! There's also some other GuP-themed mods made by others, like the tankery skirmish conversion (which I use in the making of this video for the tank-only battles) and the tank skin mod.

Hope you enjoy the video, I had so much fun making it xD

British small arms

Hey everyone!

I just bought the Finest Hour DLC, and while playing multiplayer, I noticed a huge lack of certain infantry small arms. I was wondering if there is any way we could fix or address this.

Personally, I want SAS and Commandos to be armed with more than just standard Thompsons with pistol grips. They should have more unique loadouts, especially using the specialized gear that we already have access to in Conquest mode.

As a huge Commando fan, I would really love to see these specific weapon models integrated into their multiplayer kits
This one:

We could also introduce a new Commando squad called "raiders" — a 4-man team armed with suppressed Stens. In my opinion, this would be way better and make much more sense than the current squad setup that just bundles together a mortar, a sniper, an SMG gunner, and a rifleman

or that one

Also, here are these two pistols from the screenshot

We have these machine gunners in multiplayer, but I would really love to see them appear much more often.

Just got the game and daaamn... I knew it was deep, but I really wasn't expecting it to be laying-down-suppressive-fire-while-your-guys-run-to-rescue-their-heavily-wounded-comrade-and-carry-him-to-the-back level of deep.

Destroyed KV-2

I achieved this feat on the 3rd day of the operation at the latest, destroying it with a single AT grenade. I'm proud of that photo to this day

”preparing to destroy enemy garrisons” - cold supper

best and most immersive game ever. :D

Sure the controls, complexity and huge amount of micro-managing is a bit hard to learn but its all worth it.

Never have i been able to switch the mg on vehicles (which blew my mind) or just do so much stuff, its almost like project zomboid but WW2.

The cold supper mission was quite hard at first but now seems very nice and is a fun type of hard.

i lost my first sled to an AA truck, then overwhelmed before destroying a pz2, so i fled back and searched for tanks or unmaned vehicles, only finding the Zis-5 and brought it back.

the Panzer 3 though was a pain in the ass, bc artillery was shooting infront of me and it took about 6-7 repair kits to bring it to a good enough state to drive it back, but it was worth it.

all i got left is the lutenant, a partisan and two soldiers, each with mp40's, mg 34's and tons of ammo and grenades to give a final push.

though i would appreciate some advice related to controls and how infantry managing works.
