Dear Devs: Please add Frontlines and Last Stand to Dynamic Conquest missions!

Theres been lots of talk around here about big DC overhaul coming at some point. But I think easiest, short term way to really shake up the gameplay *in the meantime for DC is with the simple addition of mixing in Frontlines and Last Stand missions.

Defensive missions during conquest in its current form, gets especially boring about mid way or so through the campaign. I don't see the point in having 3 - 5 capture points to defend when theres not downside to letting the AI capture them. This just leads to meta being to concentrate your forces around one or two points to defend. This turns late game DC defensive missions to feel like an easier, watered down version of Last Stand and a bit dull. This is why I stopped purchasing the friendly AI defensive upgrades, because if you do concentrate your forces, the enemy AI will spend the entire match getting distracted by the friendlies - leaving your positions almost entirely uncontested.

Add Frontlines (both offensive/defensive) and Last Stand missions to Dynamic Conquest and make losing points in defensive missions for Conquest actually matter. This would really revitalize the game mode .

Modded map recommendations for Hotmod/West 81?

Getting back into the game with Ultra Hotmod but I want to add some more maps that fit the theme. Seems like maps for these mods are super scattered and a lot of them have been removed. Anyone have any map pack recommendations?

I need to rant about inappropriate, "performative laughter" at the theaters.

Look, going to the theater is supposed to be a communal experience. Where together everyone can laugh, gasp, cry, etc. with the film and thats part of what makes it great. But since COVID, damn near every movie I've gone to I've had my experience either nearly, or entirely ruined by constant, unnecessary "performative laughter". I'm not talking about laughing at a joke or a funny scene, im talking about either the whole audience or usually one or two dudes straight up belly laughing at seemingly every line of dialogue, every pause, every cut, or anything that is even VAGUELY humorous or ironic.

My worst experience was the re-release of Brokeback Mountains in theaters last year. My partner didn't want to go with me because he knew the audience would be unbearable and sure enough he was right. Everyone was laughing their ass off at every damn scene in the movie. Like I get it guys, this movie went from being laughed at when it came out, but now time has passed and the movie has been memed to hell online so that means every scene is actually a comedy now! Look I'm in on the joke! We went from two gay dudes kissing is funny, to.....two gay dudes kissing is funny. But It's okay because we're laughing with the movie this time! There is literally nothing in this movie that elicits such strong humor but apparently its not cool to be sincere about things anymore and treat anything seriously - i need to let everyone know that I get it.

David Lynch screenings at rep theaters have built up a reputation for inviting the worst offenders of this, where no one takes anything seriously and Lynch's transgressive, and uncomfortable style is actually secretly supposed to be taken as a comedy throughout the entire runtime. LIKE WE GET IT, YOU'RE JUST SO IN TUNE WITH LYNCH'S STYLE THAT MULHOLLAND DRIVE IS ACTUALLY THE FUNNIEST FUCKING MOVIE YOU'VE EVER SEEN AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU NEEDS TO KNOW iT. To be clear here, Lynch's works are often very funny at times but my problem is people don't know how to discern whats actually humorous or whats actually trying to make you uncomfortable. This just leads to so many people laughing throughout all his movies especially during very inappropriate scenes and turning the entire thing into a farce.

Again I'm not saying everyone needs to be completely silent at all times, or that the uncomfortable laughter every now and again isn't called for. But people talk about audience behavior at theaters going down the drain with phones, talking etc. But personally, my biggest problem is having damn near movie I go to have at least one slack jawed loud mouth honking like a goose and slapping his knee at every god damn line of dialogue as if theres a punchline because its seriously ruining the theatrical experience. And once one or two people do it, it invites the entire theater to treat the whole movie as if its a comedy special.

> At least in my own experience, moments of intimacy, tenderness, and silence are becoming broken up by shouts, jeers, and laughs more and more often.

"Don't greet dogs on leash" "Don't bring dogs to the park" so how are you supposed to socialize your pet?

I have a 3 year old Akita/Shepherd mix that adopted a little over a year ago. He's a wonderful dog, quiet, relaxed, never barks, never growls, never bites, doesn't even lick! He's great with kids and people, and even (mostly) good with my partners cat. Where he's not perfect is his mixed behavior with other dogs. He is in now way aggressively mean, but given that he is part Akita, his greeting method is too domineering. That is, he likes to get up in other dogs faces upon greeting and "test" them. Usually this just ends up in him wanting to play, sometimes he's unbothered and smells them accordingly, other times he just ignores other dogs entirely.

I'm trying to train my dog to be more consistent with his behavior and overall be more calm upon meeting other dogs. But so much advice I see is always "Never go to the dog park because it enforces the idea that all dogs are play time" and "Never do leash greeting because its a bad way for dogs to greet". So how exactly are you supposed to get your dog to socialize and improve their social skills, especially in a city, when you can't have access to a consistently controlled environment?

Its been nearly 10 years since the Discovery 5 launched - how have they held up?

I've been looking at one of these to replace my car with for some time now. I've always liked the look of the LR4, but finding one that doesn't have a ton of miles *and* has been maintained properly for the major failure points, is hard to come by. So the Disco 5 with the SCV6 has been looking like a better option despite the styling woes (nicer interior, better ride, ACC, 360 cams etc.).

Outside of the windshield leak, typical JLR issues (software and electrical nonsense), and usual truck maintenance (bushings, control arms, brakes) - these *appear* to be holding up well? I haven't read much of note online with regards to major engine failure points of the SCV6 like the Land Rovers of old. I'd like to hear if from owners/techs on their thoughts of how these vehicles have held up - anything worth mentioning?

Hotmod help: can't move the two man deployable recoilless rifles?

For some reason every time I try to move the recoilless anti-tank rifle in Hotmod the game gives me the "vehicle immobile" message. Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Dev confirmed to be a bug

Whats the point in having 5 capture points on dynamic conquest defense?

I don't see the point in having so many capture points during defensive missions in Dynamic Conquest. It's so much easier to just defend one, maybe two points, to gather your forces around as opposed to being spread thin trying to defend an absurd amount of points.

Maybe if losing capture points actually came with meaningful risk, I could understand. But in it's current form it just seems entirely unnecessary. I hope in the future the devs bring the other game modes like Frontlines and Last Stand to the defensive missions to shake things up a bit because defense on conquest is kind of a cake walk.

Confirmed: Boeing IMAX in Seattle no longer showing features

This'll probably sound like a lot of made up bullshit, and it's certainly hard to believe, but it's from someone who applied to work at the theater (now officially called "IMAX at the Center") and made it to the interview stage.

The theater won't be showing features. Or, at least, they don't currently plan to. It also won't be possible to purchase standalone tickets for it (you'll only be able to watch movies there if you add it on to a space needle ticket). The only shows they'll be screening aren't even IMAX documentaries. It's two documentaries: a trimmed down version of Deep Sky and a documentary about Dale Chihuly that's not even finished. When questioned as to why they wouldn't screen features the answer was simply that "features don't make enough money to support the costs of the licensing". Boeing made 2/3 of Pacific Science Center's revenue. Space needle's head of HR was unaware IMAX is a corporation. I don't think the IMAX corporation is going to want to touch that theater with a ten mile long pole. There is also as of now no set reopening date.

DISCLAIMER: This is only the current plan as of late April 2026. It was only told to me through a good friend of mine, so it may be incomplete info. I made this post because I think even the small chance that folks on here may band together and complain enough to change Space Needle's minds, would be better than doing nothing at all. I do not condone any hateful words towards any involved parties.

This genuinely, honestly and truthfully sucks. I loved that theater. My top cinematic experiences happened there. And Seattle isn't going to take this lightly once the news really drops. I fear that theater will close within a year. I honestly hope someone comes up with some sort of call to action to protest this in some form, it's so beyond obvious that the Space Needle is woefully misinformed on what they've just decided to do.

Defusal is really buggy

Defusal is back as a limited time mode and im really enjoying it but it is sooo buggy.

  • When an objective explodes the it seems that whoever planted the bomb it counts against you as a team kill, so if your teammates get injured in the gas it reflects back on you. Even AFTER the round is over, i have died on the other side of the map because of this.

  • Bug where the countdown just stops working

  • Never experienced this before but there seems to be a server desync or maybe a hitbox issue(?) where your bullets just straight up do not register. This has only happened in this mode but there have been a few times where im dumping ammo into someone 2 feet away who is either planting, or standing or laying down near the bomb and none of my bullets register. No I'm not lagging, no server packet loss warning appears, no ones ping is crazy high.

Please for the love of god can the devs do any QA for this game?

I feel like the very large dynamic conquest size isn't that large, and i'm forced to specialize my unlocks. Every time I play DC I feel like im forced to focus mostly on heavy tanks and heavy anti-tank guns since the enemy gets access to them fairly quickly, meaning I can't invest as much into all the different troops, arty, call ins, etc. by the time the DC is over.

Are there any mods that make Dynamic Conquest a little larger?
