When the game and the community encourages you to loot and repair enemy vehicles at the end of conquest match, but you will never join the dark side (cheesing the resources)

Every knocked out tank stands there as a reminder to our enemy who they're dealing with, instead of scrapping it for parts and selling it

Nobody told me hitting 30s would be so...FUFILLING

So, this is going to be a bit different from the "I'm 31, is it too late to rebuild my life" sorrow posts, as In thinking 23 was your prime year and if you didn't have 5 cars and 15 houses by then, you were a toast.

All my life I kept reading and hearing about people talking about the doom year (reaching 30s), like once you reached age 30 you were lined up and shot.

I was an awkward teen in my early 20s, late bloomer, awkward, shy, worried about everything, overstressed, clumsy. I feared the big 30 how my life would change

Then I finally fit the fucking big 30. I hit the big 31. Even the big 32.

Only thing I got from it - I became wiser, more confident, more focused and I stopped giving a shit about every fucking thing in the world. I wish I had all this when I was in my 20s.

Now, our parents lived a different life where it was normal to get married at 18, buy a house at 19 and have 5 cars by the age of 20. Those were different times. We measure ourselves by what our parents had in early 20s compared what we have in late 20s - nothing. Because we don't take into consideration the inflation and the higher cost of everything.

My point is, everyone in this generation feels if they don't have a house by 25 with at least 2 cars is a looser. That was the old way. The new way is our 30s. 30s are our prime years, it's where we make our mark. We aren't expired once we reach 30, we've just began to live life.

Does anybody remember ghost cars in SAMP?

So, the ghost cars in singleplayer have been debunked for years, they are merely cars placed on hills to spawn and roll down. They WERE placed there on purpose by Rockstar because they use different models than the cars that spawn in the traffic. Their models named "Glenshit" and "Sadlshit" are different from the models glendale.Dff & Txd and sadler.Dff & Txd.

Now, the year is 2008 and SAMP is barely a year old, and the SAMP version is 0.2.2. R1. Tons of features available now weren't available back then. Meaning no NPCs, no hiding nicknames, animations being barebones. SAMP was in it's baby years back then.

Yet, in 2008 I remember while driving around on the server I played, there were these randomly driven vehicles. You'd see a Landstalker driving around the docks, and naturally you'd drive over to the vehicle to see who's driving it, to see their nickname. But the moment you got close, the vehicle would stop operating

Now, I went over all the simple answers. Maybe the player was doing an animation so it appears that there isn't a player model driving the car and that way his nickname wasn't visible. Maybe his game crashed?

Now, I asked the Google AI to save me from hours of searching the web, and it thinks there were indeed signs of that back then, but I don't agreee I ever witnessed SP ghost cars in MP.

But I do agree with the second assumption that says that as a player would crash his car would just keep driving until it stops since there isn't a driver holding W. But I still remember these ghost cars driving these cars like singleplayer NPCs, making turns and obeying traffic.

Now, I know finding someone that played this game in 2008 is hard, but I'm wondering if anybody remembers these events occuring?

For the time back then it appears a creepy thing, but NPCs were introduced a year later in 2009 as train drivers, so we kinda got used to them. But what happened in 2008?

Restrictive police pursuit

So, I have this question regarding pursuits. I've noticed by watching pursuit dashcams, usually City PD starts a pursuit, has like 7+ units on it and once the speed reaches above 30 it's like instant TERMINATE. But the same CITY PD requested the help from the State Police/Highway Patrol, and the city police pretty much abandons the state police which has like 2 units "nah, y'all handle it".

Why is this allowed? Shouldn't there be a system where the staties decide to justify to pursuit and deputize the local PD in the area to help them out? Why is this still allowed?

Imagine you're a state trooper joining a city PD pursuit, you're surrounded by 9+ city units, and 2 seconds later the supervisor is like "we running over 40? EVERYONE, SHUT THAT SHIT DOWN AND RESUME PATROL", and suddenly it went from 10vs1 to 1vs1.

I mean, what do you even do in that situation? Call the park police?
