Back to work tomorrow! Spent a lazy day around the house. Got a few things done, but it's HOT π₯΅
Exactly 3 weeks from right now, I'll be on my way to Los Angeles π I absolutely cannot wait. Definitely looking forward to this trip.
Dinner tonight is a home made lunchable π I got extra lunch meat at the deli, so I'm having some smoked turkey, pastrami, Genoa salami, and corned beef with some cheddar and Swiss on Ritz crackers with some spicy brown mustard π
Why do some goodwill close there restrooms for their customers? Ross doesnβt have their restroom closed nor does Marshals! Goodwill need to operate like a department store and treat customers as such or just be another shitty thrift store
what do they even mean by this?
Got a lot done on a day off! Got ALL the boxes finished! So pay attention to your DM's, box people!
Not a lot other than that. Just making progress as my vacation crawls closer and closer π
Dinner tonight is fried chicken cordon Bleu π I took some chicken breasts and pounded them flat into cutlets. Then seasoned and breaded, then shallow fried. I took some grated Swiss and made a mornay sauce with a roux and some warm milk. Then I took some deli ham and warmed it up in some dill butter in a pan. Then piled it up! Fried chicken, Swiss cheese sauce, then ham on top π added some green beans and potato wedges on the side
A video while I'm making dinner π an appetizer before the main post
Finally found some in my size, new with tags, and a fantastic price!
Shitty way to end the week!! Had 2 call outs on a day we had 104 donors and $3700 in sales. I never stopped all damn day.
I did, however, get to witness EPIC simp karma, however! π€£π So my annoying former coworker had one guy in particular that would follow her around like a puppy. This is the guy that got incredibly, over the top mad when he figured out she didn't work here anymore. So much so that he called and complained π€£π
Ever since, whenever he's drug his loser ass in, he asks us about the annoying one, like any of us knows or cares. Then he proceeds to bitch about how the store isn't as "fun" without her. Every. Single. Time. Today was no different, skip for one thing!
Today, the doofus lost his motorcycle key somewhere in the store π€£π he spent the last 2 hours we were open crawling around on his hands and knees, searching under the clothes racks. Going into near hysterics over it. Spazzing out more than I've seen someone in awhile!
And the single biggest fight of my life is occurring at the same time.
The fight to keep myself from laughing so hard I piss myself π€£ππ€£ππ€£π
545 comes. The 15 minutes till closing announcement. If I thought he was panicking before, boy was I wrong! He whirled around the store like a tornado π€£π
10 minutes till closing. He's near tears at this point π€£π how this grown ass man has no backup key is a testament to his uselessness.
5 minutes till closing. He starts screaming "FUCK!!!" over and over again and throws a literal tantrum. Stamping his feet, jumping up and down, throwing his hat, cursing in no particular sense or order, just a full breakdown. He does this all the way out the door.
Then he stands in our parking lot and starts screaming at his motorcycle like it's a person. Like it's gonna answer him π€£π then he slams his motorcycle helmet on the ground, and walks away towards the gas station.
So I go about closing the register and everything like normal. It takes about 20 minutes to close, turn everything off, and get ready to leave on a Sunday. So we finish up, turn on the security system, and leave.
He's still in the parking lot. He hasn't called anyone. He's just sitting there, staring blankly out into the distance.
And it couldn't have happened to a more deserving asswipe.
Dinner tonight is air fryer corn dogs π
Had an average day. 92 donors and $3300 in sales. No real headaches, though. And the new registers seem to be settling in just fine.
Now! Onto what we found in a purse! ππ€£ Along with Aerosmith concert tickets and various receipts from 1992, we also found a long forgotten stash of booger sugar ππ€£
That smell is UNMISTAKABLE to anyone who has. I have a pic if anyone would like to see! DM me, because I'm positive the auto remove will not allow it on the post.
Dinner tonight is a classic from my time in Buffalo. I've been craving a sandwich so epic, so absolutely complete and perfect, that I'm actually quite shocked it hasn't become more popular everywhere outside of New York. I'm making a stinger tonight π a stinger is a classic cheese steak, then topped with Buffalo chicken fingers and ranch dressing, then lettuce, tomatoes, and peperoncinis ππ I'm using the same sandwich steak from last night, only adding American cheese, fresh air fryer chicken fingers dunked in Frank's red hot with some butter melted into it, home made buttermilk ranch, and all the veggies π

I guess if you know you knowβ¦ My grandma came home in thisπ¬
browsing today and this caught my eye. really thought it was a design choice at first but then it MOVED. Immediately took it off the rack (I didn't have a plan, bird brain took over and just said "acquire reptile.") I spent several minutes gently turning the garnet to catch the lizard, had it in my hand for a brief moment, then it jumped and scurried under furniture.
here's the conundrum, i'm no herpatologist, but i'm 70% positive that that's a leopard gecko. it wasn't much bigger than maybe my thumb? I do not live (southeastern Appalachia- US) in an area where they are native. (thought it might be an eastern fence lizard, which we do have, but again, not a herper) I know there's not alot i can do now, 4 hours post gecko discovery, but i am worried that someone's baby is lost in Goodwill. curious as to how this even happened?
I dont usually look at the bikes because they are always trashed. Just happened to walk by and see this Cannondale. Its in really good shape. Brand new tires also. The lady said a gentleman returned it today because it was too big for his son. $75 and it was mine.
