Long day. $3300 and 106 donors. And it was hot today! Mid 80's. And the heat brought irritation with it!
Started the day off with a crazy woman at the gas pumps. She was parked at a pump, yet pulled out right in front of me to take the pump I was pulling into. Why? Because she realized her gas tank was on the other side. This was my fault, apparently, somehow. She got out running her mouth. In my mood, HUGE mistake. I yelled at the cunt, LOUD. Completely called out her bullshit and literally told her to STFU. And she did, surprisingly 😂🤣
Got into town to work, and an oversized load was blocking the street to work. Again, in my mood, I don't give one solitary fuck. I just drove through and around their nonsense. I'm sure they weren't happy about it, but I really, REALLY don't care.
Work itself wasn't bad. Right up until the last 20 minutes.
First, we get a homeless couple trying to steal. Then trying to convince me that I should just give them stuff. They were escorted out, but hung around in the parking lot making a scene to whoever was looking. It wasn't me, again, don't care....
Next up is Mr boomer trying to donate a truck full of crap 15 minutes after we've closed the donations for the day. He kept trying to do the boomer gotcha thing. First was he didn't see a sign. I pointed. Next was the hours weren't posted. They were, in fact. Next was he was just gonna leave them then. He was informed that would lead to a ticket for littering. That got me the lead paint stare they're known for. So I just told him he could either leave or I'll have him trespassed. Boomers fear any kind of police involvement, so that finally got him to leave.
Finally, we have book Karen. She comes up, last person in the store, with a LITERAL shopping cart full of books. She wants a deal. Not happening. She can pay per book or leave them, either way, once more, I DON'T CARE. Karen then has my employee count them all up and ring them in. Then Karen pulls the "well, I only have this much, take it or leave it." So I ended it there. Told her we wouldn't be taking it, and she can get out. She couldn't believe it. She honestly thought I'd accept her roughly 1/3 cost offer 😂🤣 we were informed that she'd NEVER come back. I told her I hoped not.
Had to pay $2800 for my dad's cremation today. So I wasn't in the mood for these cretinous yahoos today. Not gonna be tomorrow either, I have a feeling....
Dinner tonight is pesto grilled shrimp 🦐🍤 I still have some shrimp, so I'm going to skewer them, seasoned with salt and pepper, then brush Costco pesto sauce over both sides. Then I'm grilling them, just a few minutes on each side. Serving with more pesto for dipping and a few lemon wedges
My recent favorite finds😻🏺💐
My first glass purse, vintage mushroom napkin holder, little antique flower bouquet, vintage flower pot, another vintage fleur de lis vase, my hossier glass vase, my enormous vintage floral painting and wood frame, and this cute little wedding invitation shadow box frame from 1976 that i couldn’t leave behind❤️🥹
OOOH Goodwill 🖤
She say she loves it so much she brought her SPRING. Goodwill for the win as always. 🖤
(Rug is goodwill, cat is dumpster) 👍

We pay the mortuary tomorrow. Suppose that means my dad's ashes will be ready soon. My brother is going to pay them while I'm at work tomorrow. At least with the other boss in a different location and a couple people out, I'm just gonna take it easy tomorrow. I could not possibly care less how little we get done. I'm essentially taking a paid day off.
I got very little done today. Just got ready for work tomorrow with laundry and did a little box stuff.
Dinner tonight is simple. Shrimp and tomato sheet pan bake. You'll need a pound of jumbo shrimp, a package of cherry tomatoes, 4 cloves of garlic (thinly sliced), olive oil, salt, pepper, granulated garlic, and lemons.
Put the shrimp, tomatoes, and sliced garlic on a rimmed sheet pan drizzle with olive oil, then season to taste with the salt, pepper, and granulated garlic. Toss until well coated. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Squeeze the lemon over the top when finished and enjoy with some crusty bread
Loose Collection from Goodwill
Was looking for toys for my son and stumbled on this loose figure dump at the goodwill. What a blast from the past. The Shamrock and Sultan figures made me smile the most.
Spanish bronze sculpture
I found a bronze sculpture by Josep Bofill for $10. I don't know if it's worth a lot but it is interesting having a bonafide piece of art. Casting reads that it's 196 of 285.

I made the call. My dad's dog joined him today. I couldn't watch her just waste away, and she was actually getting worse after a week. So we said our goodbyes again, and I sat with her while she got the shot and she laid on my chest until her last breath.
She was a good dog, and her little spirit gave out when she figured out my dad wasn't coming back. She even started attacking my other 2 dogs, so it was time.
So tonight I'll be working on the boxes. Definitely need a few happy thoughts and things to do.
Dinner is marinated hot dogs 😁 I know, but try it! The marinade is 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning. Toss those three into a ziplock bag with a 1 lb pack of your favorite hotdogs. Let them sit in the fridge for at least 8 hours, turning and mixing around in the bag every few hours. Then grill them! You will 100% share this with your friends when you see what it does to the hotdogs
Antique hair saver
Picked this up for $11.99. I have already saved a few hairs lol.
Best of Today: Mystery Boxes!!
Well, I'm having a long day. SO! I think spreading a little joy around would be a good way to spend some time. So let the next round open!
I need your t shirt size and a few of your interests to get started! 😁

We had a power out today. For about an hour. Despite that, we still made $3200 today. Not bad at all. Now, onto my weekend. And no distractions.
I have to make an appointment with the vet for my dad's Chihuahua tomorrow. I wasn't going to share this, because I was hoping she'd come around, but it looks like she's basically decided to join my dad. She isn't eating, isn't drinking, isn't even moving much. I can barely get her to drink anything. She won't take even people food. She's just so sad. I have waited as long as I can. It's been a week tomorrow. I'm not going to just watch her waste away.
I'm going to be the one who sits with her. My mom and brother are in no shape to do it.
At least I have to go to Walmart. That's a small distraction.
I'm going to start a new round of boxes tomorrow, so that'll also be a welcome distraction. I already have a couple new requests, so may as well open it back up for everyone 😊
LazyPeachPrincess stopped by to give me a hug and show me the baby deer she was saving. That was pretty awesome to see so close, and very sweet of her to stop and check on me as well 😊
Dinner last night, by the way, was a plate of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, and corn. That woman can certainly cook. She came back in to check on me today.
And another of my regulars brought me a deli sandwich today. She came by on her way to one of the 3 jobs the poor woman works and still checked in on me.
I'm ok, guys. Really. I will be anyway. You are all wonderful 😁
Massive table $5.99
I didn’t buy it, because I’ve nowhere to put it, but $6 is a fair price for the right buyer
Found an.. interesting chair
We frequent our local thrift stores a lot looking for uranium glass, and happened upon this odd chair. The trays are a part of it, same with the hanger type device on the top. Any idea what it's used for?
Only bought the moth shirt, left everything else

Another busy day. $3700 today on 93 donors. We're getting a ton of spring clean outs, and, thankfully, it's kept me busy all week. My mind tends to go non stop anyway, so it's been very helpful.
Only had one asshole today. A guy complaining that I wouldn't do a set price for a group of mixed dishes. I've given up looking for rationality in customers....
I'm going to be adding in a bunch of my dad's stuff to the never ending pile of things for the boxes, so! The next round of boxes is going to start on Monday! It'll also give me a distraction.
Dinner tonight is a plate of food from one of my regular shoppers. I haven't looked at what it is yet. But word has indeed gotten around. This one showed up at the end of the day with a plate and a hug. I do have some pretty awesome people in and around this place, y'all included.
Interesting VHS Find Today
I love collecting odd VHS tapes, and was very excited to find this today. I watched it and the animation surprisingly reminds me of early 90s anime character designs. Was definitely not expecting that haha
Best $8 I’ve ever spent
I stumbled upon a digital microscope at the thrift store this week. It has proven itself to be extremely useful in the short amount of time I’ve had it. Looking at before and after cleaning my vinyl, for example, as well as I had no idea how far gone my stylus was until I stuck it underneath the scope this morning. I immediately picked up a new one. Highly recommend if you come across one throw one in your cart on Amazon.
$9.99 A40 Gen 1 from Goodwill (thrift store)
This was actually the first time I went diving for cheap tech deals in a Goodwill (I will have you know I make a decent income). I had a huge stroke of luck when I arrived at the shelf primarily loaded with tech. old cameras and camcorders, waffle cookers, a cd walkman which I did buy, and heck, even a logitech flight sim controller old enough to be advertised to “tackle the games of the new century.” But the most useful thing I saw among all this novel technology was a dust-coated, gooch-encrusted Astro headset. I had only seen astros on sale and in pics and never owned or wore one. But I knew they were always high quality, and expensive when bought new. The price on this headset? Not even 10 bucks. Plus, I could tell it was old (as I later found out, the 2013 Gen 1 degree of old). The tiny MLG decal was enough evidence. Sure, it stank from a short distance and its grime looked like a unique element on the periodic table, plus whoever donated it lost the mic. But what the heck, man, IT’S AN ASTRO. Mom thought I was crazy for wanting it anyways. I went to the cashier, asked “does your computer have an aux port?” He plugged it in and told me both speakers worked great. And so I arrived home with this headset and spent the next hour scrubbing away with alcohol and cotton swabs, hand washing the ear pads and wiping the speaker tags until they shined better than an iPhone’s Apple logo. Replace the mic for a 15 buck one off Amazon and the thing is completely refurbished (I use a dedicated Razer Siren mic so this isn’t even necessary). Oh, I’m not saying that I’m selling it. I’m curious to see how well it competes with my Razer Blackshark V2X. Really happy I found this.
