Lore

Handguns are useful for many jobs, whether that be self defense, backup weapons or arming paramilitaries like police officers. Handguns are objectively one of the most versatile firearms in the world, however often they are rare as most militaries around the globe prioritise the production of rifles as they are much more powerful and have long range capabilities, so people who would greatly benefit from handguns don't get them, thus they improvise, adapt and overcome.

One of the answers to this problem are cut down rifles. Popular during the Great Russian Revolt, these provide the power of a rifle, yet the size of a handgun by having most of the barrel and the entire stock swan off. Unfortunately, they do not possess the accuracy of rifles or handguns due to rifle rounds requiring long barrels to be used effectively, their design prevented them from one handed shooting and they suffered from a slow rate of fire.

Almost every rifle can be sawn off to create makeshift pistols, but the one stood out among the rest. The sawn off "Adjudicator" solved two of these issues as, unlike bolt action and such, semi-automatics can be fired one handed and have a fast rate of fire. But its strength is also its weakness because of the way it's designed it proved difficult to be converted into a pistol, not to mention the fact that it still retained some of the Adjudicator's weight problems and the issue with the shortened barrel damaging its accuracy and the velocity of the bullet.

Even with all these issues it was deemed handy enough to be used by a group of soldiers who didn't have a problem with its lack of long range capabilities.

The Space You Left Behind

You left without the thunder,
without shattered glass or screaming skies.
Just quiet,
the kind that settles into furniture
and lingers in unopened messages.

I still reach for your name
like muscle memory,
like a song my hands remember
even when the radio has gone silent.

We built a future out of fragile things,
late-night promises,
shared playlists,
the dangerous belief
that love alone could hold the weight
of two unfinished people.

But love is not always a fortress.
Sometimes it is a doorway
one person closes
while the other still stands inside.

I hated you for leaving.
Then hated myself
for missing someone
who had already learned
how to live without me.

Days passed.
The ache changed shape.
Not gone,
just softer around the edges,
like sea glass
carved smooth by surviving storms.

Now when I think of you,
I do not ask why we ended.

I ask how something so beautiful
could teach me
that letting go
is also a form of love,
the kind that finally says:

I wanted us to be forever,
but I want me to heal more.

Potential idea for Veteran Rework

Veteran by itself seems like a pretty generic and basic perk, better reload technique and speed, full ammo reserve. However, it lacks the whole concept of "morale"

Which is good on its own if you're handing a weapon that's either ammo inefficient or has horrid reload speeds but still it feels a bit niche and outclassed compared to something like Marksman, Black hand or even Grayhound (unironically Grayhound Heavion is straight cancer more than Appa Heavion if you're good at rushing)

And also where it does make sense that a "seasoned" soldier would have better reload techniques, it just doesn't make that much sense with mag fed guns like the Adjudicator and Hope, like why are we racking the bolt and ON PURPOSE wasting a bullet? It doesn't take a PhD to figure out that you're wasting a round and time

Now saving that same bullet with something like a bolt action rifle or revolver, or even the equine double barrel, it makes sense that it would be more difficult especially in the heat of the battle so due to lack of experience/time it's better to waste the ammo for the sake of survival

So my idea is basically that in addition to enhancing reload speed and technique, Veteran could also enhance the class and its abilities. And this isn't a new idea, it is already in the game in the form of Veteran Lancer. So it'd make sense that other classes may potentially receive the same treatment.

So here are some of my ideas, however they're not set in stone and entirely open to alterations or suggestions

Soldat: Perhaps enhancing weapon handling/ accuracy slightly, but not to the level of Black hand/Marksman. I would appreciate ideas I can't really think much about this

Rook: Faster/stronger building, faster/more efficient mining etc etc

Mortician: More potent or stronger/Longer lasting stimulants, faster surgery, enhanced syringettes. Either or, one or multiple whatever works

(Edit) Officer: (Completely forgot a out this guy, screw this guy) Potentially longer order durations, lesser whistle cool down, longer order effect radius, more potent spotting capabilities, either or, one or many

Jaeger: Enhanced echolocation range/frequency, thinner tripwires like Geists(though not to the same level), etc etc

Lancer: Already present in game

Vanguard: Faster shield folding and unfolding, faster repairs, more resistance to automatic fire and/or melee attacks, better handling with shield, ability to slowly reload sidearms behind shield(only reload, not fire, though I'm a bit skeptical about this one) etc etc

These are all just ideas and fully open to suggestions and alterations, I just believe that it would make Veteran a lot more compelling and interesting perk to play along with making it overall unique.

Let me know what you guys think and if it'd be a good change or if it'll suck ass

Things that I often ask in public servers and get no answers to

How do people play officer/helmetless? Anytime I even attempt to I just get instantly head-shotted and die immediately.

How do people use the swords so well? I die so often to people walking up on me at like the perfect moment and killing me with a sword, or backstabbing me.

How are people so good at sneaking in this game? Like I'll watch me and four guys get killed by someone who managed to get behind the entire team.

How do people use Kingslayer, like, in any effective way? People have told me "Oh use marksman, aim for this/that" and it feels like I'm shooting a bullet out of a paper straw.

How do people do that Vanknight thing? I also die to this very often and whenever I tried it I always just die immediately, or I just rushed and die to a melee, which despite me having an entire sword I still lose.

This one is just more broad, whenever I play anything besides soldat and specifically talon I usually end up doing terribly.

I have over 250 hours on the game but I'm still complete trash at the game and it's annoying.

"Hippos, Solace, Shocks, and regular soldiers deserve love and treatment."

"Hippos, Solace, Shocks, Men, Women, and Child deserve love and care."

-Ian Khorin and Frankie Khorin

September 8, 1929

Ian and Frankie yearn for the presence of a child, the love only a family can have, the final lock in their long and strong relationship. Since childhood, they have been through thick and thin, persistently guiding each other in the path of the Lord even through war where death and murder flood the caves.

They have tried countless times, every week, every month, every year, and every campaign. They are patient, they know God will grant them a little one to care for when the time is right. Ian doesn't blame Frankie, and Frankie trusts Ian. Both of them understand that this is a journey for them to take together. Soon enough, they will earn the happy ending they have imagined as teenagers: A small cottage like Ian had in Smolensk, a Boutique, a floral shop, and a family of four.

Understanding the incredible value of a mere baby, the couple's love for other people strengthens. Life is a miracle, all created the same way but with different upbringing. The good and evil are tended to, the innocent and stained are loved. Ian knows for sure,

Without love, people can end up like Frankie's Father.

Hope mod - "Hope" Machine Pistol

Unlike what the image shows, this gun doesn't have a compensator.

Weapon

Weapon Type: handgun

Weight: 1

Caliber: .45 auto

Based on: Dillinger's m1911

Stats

Armour pen: weak

Material pen: reduced

Rpm: 550 (bh doesn't affect automatics)

Ammo cap: 7 | 7 + 1 (vet)

Reload: 3.15s | 2.1 (vet)

Reserve: 7 starting / 14 max

Handling: 0.7 draw / 0.35 aim | 0.61s draw / 0.322s

Dmg ranges

<30 studs - 90 dmg - knocks helmets off

30 studs - 85 dmg - helmets deflect

>80 studs - 80 dmg - helmets deflect

Extra Info

This gun can overheat if fired too long. Each stage of overheat makes the accuracy, dmg ranges and dmg over range worse, each stage is irreversible, if you reach stage 1 for example, you cant go down past it. If the overheat meter reaches the max the gun explodes. You can check the overheat meter by pressing T.

The recoil of this gun is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS, like actually, you wouldn't be able to hit anything far away even with marksmen, focus order and that one mort drug.

Stability is meh.

Mobility is worse than regular hope, but not the worst.

Accuracy is the same.

Location

Found on the cobble in the cache building. On one of the shelves there would be a broken tommy gun, you have to click it to get the hope mod.

What faction do you choose (considering GE, RN, Bandits, and Solace lore)

(KEEP DISCUSSIONS RESPECTFUL AND OPEN MINDED. Things here I mention can be found in the Trello). Royal Nation has a corrupt system, prioritises money and status over personality and morality. Golden Empire is an authoritarian monarchy, forces you to conformity, and doesn't let you have any "self-identity." Both sides are corrupt, both hunt and execute bandits, both enlist and put minors into war, and other atrocities. Solace aren't good people either, they provide both sides weapons and indirectly continuing the cycle of war and violence (even if they don't want to). Bandits are deserters or people who flee the two major factions and doesn't join the Solace Coalition, they rob, attack, and harass civilian, attack Solace Coalition, and kill eachother to grab any resources they can. So realistically, which side would you be on?
