Throwback Thursday: “We want the ball and we’re gonna score.”

The 2003 Wild Card game between the Packers and Seahawks was a brawl.

Seattle jumped out early. Brett Favre and the Packers kept finding ways to respond, and Shaun Alexander kept the Seahawks in it. By the fourth quarter, it was clear neither team was giving up quietly. The game went to overtime tied 27-27, setting up one of the most famous coin-toss moments in NFL history.

Matt Hasselbeck, back in Lambeau against his former team, called it loud enough for the world to hear:

>“We want the ball and we’re gonna score.”

Famous last words.

A few plays later, Al Harris jumped the route, took it the other way, and turned that quote into a punchline. As far as playoff endings go, it is hard to script one better than that.

Game Day Travel Plan Feedback

Hey gang - I live in Atlanta and I'm planning to come up for the Bills game in December. Obviously hotels and AirBnBs in GB are already shot, so I'm curious if y'all can give some honest feedback on the alternative plan I've come up with.

  • Fly to Milwaukee
  • AirBnB in the bar district
  • Coach bus shuttle from Milwaukee to Green Bay on gameday, and back

On paper it sounds like the perfect setup where I don't have to worry about renting a car, and really the only Uber I'd need is to and from the airport. It would also keep costs down since I won't have to fork over an arm and a leg to stay in GB.

The main tradeoff being less time in GB to hit local bars or walk the stadium, and if the game remains SNF then there's basically no time for post-game activities as I'll just be back on the bus to Milwaukee.

Anyone have experience doing this, or can offer other suggestions? Thanks! Go Pack!

and the Steeelrs also now will have the right to match any offer sheet he would sign with another team.

As another condition of the tender, Rodgers would only be able to sign with the Steelers once training camp begins.

If the covid lockdowns didn’t happen Trey Smack never would’ve made it to the NFL, he wanted to play Lacrosse in college originally

[Super Bowl XLV] Jordy Nelson bounces back after an incomplete pass and makes one of the most important catches of the game

The first throw by Rodgers is absolutely ridiculous. That ball was SIZZLING to get it by the MLB which is probably why Jordy couldn't hang onto it.

Which WR has the better season?

Seen this all over the place but wanted to ask direct Packers fans, overall team and fan perspective, who do you think has the overall best season?

A) Watson
B) Reed
C) Golden

For me, it’s all around health which scares me. I feel all 3 always are hurt so it comes down to who stays healthy. If you assume they all play all year, I have to rank it how I have above. Thoughts?

FINALLY!

Finally made it to Green Bay! (Only took 61 years)

Some great folks took me to 1919 Kitchen (great menu). Went to the Pro Shop and spent money. Nitschke jersey. Love. Etc. Green Bay folks are cool. Still reeling.

Packers Have the NFL’s Ultimate Late-Game Dagger 🗡

This is one of those stats that actually tells a story. This is not just “Josh Jacobs scores touchdowns.” This is fourth quarter & overtime, game on the line, team has to score, defense expecting the run, and Jacobs still finding a way to punch it in.

Being ahead of Emmitt Smith, LaDainian Tomlinson, Marcus Allen, and Saquon Barkley in any rushing category is wild enough. But being ahead of them in go-ahead rushing touchdowns is legacy stuff. Josh Jacobs is a game closer. That is exactly why the Packers brought him to Green Bay.

Green Bay Bucket List

Hello everyone. I’m wanting to check going to a packers home game off my bucket list this upcoming season. Realistically the only window of opportunity I have is September, more specifically the week 3 home game on a Thursday.
I want the full experience of walking through Title Town and getting to take in the town and the tailgating. My concern or question is, Is Title Town as lively on a Thursday as a normal Sunday game?
Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated in helping me plan this out. Thank you to anyone that reaches out.
