Purifiers?

What is their function (outside of Warband)? Is it to pop in and roast a low toughness infantry unit off of an objective? They seem kinda expensive for their role.

I’m quite new to the army so please forgive me for not understanding everything correctly. I know I’m not understanding their role correctly

Newbie looking to start a GK 1000pt army, looking for advice on list and detachments!

Ive read over the basics of GK and feel like I understand a good bit of how they play, how do you set up your armies and how do the different detatchments play?

What is everyone’s thoughts on the terminus decree now about a year has passed?

I was iffy at first, but I think it’s kinda cool, the idea that the emperor cannot leave the throne and they must put him back on there is really good for conflict within the imperium

What are your thoughts?

First time player, long lover of lore.

I love my grey knights, but I want to build a list that I can have fun with. What detatchments does everyone think are worth their salt? I dont mind cost and im not worried about refreshes since ill probably print and kitbash a bunch of bits and pieces any way.

Need feedback on my 2,000pt Banishers + Argent Assault list

Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to Grey Knights. I only played around five games in 10th edition, and they were all with Warpbane Task Force.

Now that 11th edition is here, I wanted to try something different and came up with the list below.

I'm planning to run Banishers + Argent Assault

I'd really appreciate any feedback on the list. Does anything stand out as something you would change?

The unit I'm most unsure about is the Purgation Squad. I've never used Purgators before, so I'm not sure how people are actually running them in 11th.

At the moment I've equipped them with 4 Incinerators, but I've seen people recommending Psilencers, Psycannons, and even running them with no heavy weapons at all ("full melee").

  • Which loadout has worked best for you?
  • How do you usually use Purgators on the table?
  • Is full melee actually better than taking heavy weapons?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

After 8 months of shame, decided to repaint his swords and eyes.

First 3 are the old design, my first flaming swords ever. Last 3 are the new one, with the colour scheme I developed while making Girlyman.

.

And yes, those pieces in the back are Horus Ascended, who I am painting as loyal with Luna Wolves scheme. Call the Inquisition.

Fully Complete

Finally got around to full completing this big guy

The main thing was just the Base and I'm so happy with how it turned out

Especially the Water

If anyone's wondering its

Help identifying model

Bought grey knights 2nd hand for my 2nd army! I've noted down most of the models I have but I can't seem to find out what this is. Is it a really old make?

Itching for more variety...

I'll start with an actual mini not a box, I got my first layer of paint on my Contemptor Dreadnought, slowly working on this one and had a few minutes yesterday.

But the local game shop is running a strong deal on some boxes off a small table, so I grabbed Ordo Xenos yesterday since they're kind of adjacent and I'm a hobbyist more than a player right now

Visited today since I was near, now they have Ordo Malleus on the table (so close but slightly different), along with the Imperial Knights Eye of Terror with 3 dreadnought proxies 😂

I NEED nothing, and these are all barely related, but the discount sticker is tempting....

Here's to a hopeful future with some new strong characters 🤙

Why do they still leave no witnesses?

Dear brothers,

why is the Brotherhood still so keen upon leaving no witnesses?
I feel like in the latest novels, the GreyKnights do grow more reluctant to exterminating them, being more considerate about mind wipes.

But still the general rule stands: the sighting of a Grey Knight is sooner than later a deathsentence.

But to be honest i do not understand the urgenceny anymore.
I do understand, that if a incursion is so bad the GreyKnights need to step in..it is usually bad bad..
and (very nicely portrayed in the Garran Crowe) and the witnessing of a incursion, knowingly or not, can already plant the seed of chaos and can doom a whole planet. So i understand the exterminatus of the overall public, because pretty much no normal human can withstand chaos, because even the most devoted citizens of the imperium can not withstand the unending possibilitys chaos will find to corrupt you..there is always a ways..and chaos will find it.

But most of the Astartes (at least 50% of course...thank you Erebus) seem to have at least somewhat of a resistance against the effect of chaos, being able to fight lesser demons and CSMs, sometimes a "normal" Astartes Chapter is able to banish Daemon-Primarchs.

And here comes the point, in which i cannot understand the necessity,
why do only certain individuals in the Imperium and the Inquisition are allowed to remember or live through the experience of fighting besides their Silver-Blue-Shiny-Brothers, it seems that individuals accomplishing certain deeds involved with GreyKnights (for example a Canoness Errant being a incorruptible force in a chaos invasion, or ChapterMasters that fought beside them) are allowed to keep these memories and live on with them.

Is the point of leaving no witnesses the necessary sacrifice to be sure to leave no breeding ground for chaos?
Is the point of it to keep our shiny Brotherhood a secret? If yes, why so? Why are we not allowed to aid our a little more distant cousins (or would they be our nephews🧐) and fight beside them on much more bigger battlefields?

I understand, there were times where chaos was a big secret and nobody could know or be trusted with it, but then...half the Legions fell to chaos...and THE F'ING UNIVERSE TORE IN HALF AND NOW CHAOS IS BASICALLY WRITTEN IN THE SKY...i don't think chaos is that much of secret anymore...at least to the Astartes.

TLTR:

Im all for slaughtering the civilians after a incursion, they just cant handle chaos, but why are Astartes not allowed to keep the memories of fighting beside them.
Is the "No witnesses" rule to destroy every trace of chaos, even in everybodys memories, or is it to keep the Brotherhood a secret? If yes why?
Even now after Great Rift.

Storm Raven!!!

Printed this guy a few months ago because I thought it looks rad. Just finished him up this morning. There’s probably a ton of things wrong about it, but I don’t care, the guys I play with definitely won’t, and who really fields aircraft anyway? I will probably play it once to say I did it, but he will be a sexy addition to the shelf!!!

Some ghost Paladins I've finished with!

Super easy color scheme.

  • Basecoat Leadbelcher
  • Wash Drakkonhoff Nightshade
  • Dry brush Necron Compound
  • Apply Nihilakh Oxide all over

Really happy with how they came out!

First fully painted squad ever

This is my very first attempt at painting and putting together miniature. Been stressing about weapons and what I need to have on each.

Thought I’d share and get some feedback or help with the game play aspect would be appreciated.
