I haven't played in awhile so maybe I'm missing something but my question is;
With the Echojump detachment rule, can you deep strike -> Shoot -> Surge move -> Charge?
This seems like it would be one of your best ways to get into melee early with a deep striking unit but I haven't seen anyone mention it. Is there something stopping this or is there another reason you wouldn't want to do it?
For 11th they announced as part of the space marines faction focus (if i remember correctly) that characters will be labelled as like support and leader or something like that. Basically saying there is a game rule that allows multiple leaders and not just a datasheet rule.
So the question which character do you think will be support, i.e. can join a unit that already has a leader. If its chaplain im buffing all my paladin with reroll charge in the new paladin detachment.
I've seen a couple of people speculating that WTF will be 3 DP because its out best detachment. I dont think thats true. The second last paragraph talks about how we can combine WTF and Sanctic Spearhead with 1 DP detachments. Am I just interpreting this wrong? Or did people just not read the article?
First grey knight I’ve fully painted. Need to varnish and add tufts but here is the justicar for the interceptor squad. First time glazing paints on the sword as well
At the 10:25 mark one of the announcers says “because there is no character that can be attached to interceptors… at this time”
How he said it felt like a bit of a wink and a nod. I’d love to see an interceptor leader
Idk if GW has made this clear, I can't find a clear answer cause I didn't want to combat through articles about 11th. In 9th edition, when we took different detachments, each unit you fielded had to be slotted into one or the other during list building. Therefore each unit only got the ability of one of the detatchments not both. When we are combining detatchments in 11th does it work this way? Or does the whole army have each detatchment, the caveat is that the abilities will only effect a single type of unit? Cause unless they change Warpbane to only affecting Purifiers, Warpbane will be a must take in combination with any of the other detatchments since it just hits blanket Grey Knight units. Any insight will be much appreciated!
I've gotten used to expecting the incoming doom posts, so I am throwing this out into the mix. I think each one of the new 1 DP detachments offer a cool flavor. Punching up with either Paladins or Interceptors, cool. Interceptors move then surge move then charge: also cool. S10 Psycannons ignoring all hit modifiers, pinning opponent and possibly robbing primary at the same time: a fair reason to take Purgs. And, I'll point out, nobody knows it's a fact that WTF is getting nerfed. If it's 2 DP that will be awesome to pair with any one of the add-ons.
Also, GW confirmed in this faction focus that melee Psychic is ignoring modifiers too. That's hit & wound modifiers, which will negate a lot of things that stand in the way of our damage reliability.
Count me among the GK players looking forward to 11th.
Anyone else pick up on the comment "there is no leader for interceptors pause looks at camera ...at this time" during the faction focus vid?! Brothers I think we have a named boy incoming for our interceptors!!!
I’ve been working on a small force using the old Combat Patrol and some bits and pieces I found on eBay. I kitbashed them up to the primaris scale using bodies from various kits and spare parts I had left around. I also reposed the Dreadknight leg slightly. Now I need to work out the paint scheme.
Are grey Knights one of the cheapest army to collect in 40k ?
My guess is that WTF is 3. Banishers and Bro Strike are 2. Hallowed, Augur and Santic are 1. what do others thing? hit me with some combos you are excited to try out
Talk about it with me, what are you excited about?
For me interceptors detachment looks crazy and I'm so here for it. Lance, bloodsurge after shooting, stealth are all going to be amazing for them.
Paladins have a detachment, we maybe didn't get alot for this but I like that we at least get to punch up with our paladins now.
And... purgations. A purgation squad detachment.. let me say I was actually surprised by this. And I'm very curious if yall think its enough to make purgations useful now. +2s in shooting, sustained and dev wounds, forcing battle shock, paired with their ability to pin and slow enemy units down. These guys are looking to finally be good in my opinion.
But ya let's talk, how do you feel about these previews, is it enough to stave off the gloom and doom, and start seeing the light?
So with the update the to the psychic key word the Aggressive Anticipation stratagem is worthless so my question becomes what do you hope they do with this detachment because with the new DP system I fully expect ATF to see more play
Do you have to model Paladins with the little banners? They are so flimsy and break all the time. I really prefer to leave them off but then I worry about people saying I am misrepresenting them on the table or saying I am modeling for advantage.
At the end of the article, GW called out that Warpbane Task Force, Hallowed Conclave, and Sanctic Spearhead still exist, and that they would combo well with the new detachments. This implies that they are at most 2DP, which is great news for us
Reviewing the faction focus video, they mention in the Purgation Squad detachment that psycannons are Strength 7 and would go up to Strength 9 with the +2 Strength bonus. However, psycannons are currently Strength 8. Is this a mistake, or are psycannons going to have their Strength reduced?
In the text of the webs they mention “Praise the Emperor for Strength 10 psycannons!”
