Can anyone recommend long-term care facilities in the Hartford area or facilities to avoid? My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's mixed with vascular dementia, and he needs 24/7 supervision. He's currently hospitalized. He would be a direct admission from the hospital. He has limited assets but may be able to pay for about a year of private pay care before requiring Medicaid, so it would be ideal to find a facility that would allow him to transition to Medicaid once his assets have been spent down.

I had a super disappointing experience with Hartford pizza garden tonight.

Let me back up and say that I’ve been a tremendous supporter of these guys. I use them to cater my kids’ birthday party a couple years ago, and converted probably 20 parents to get pizza from there. That shit is delicious. Everybody loved it and kept asking me where I got it from

We kept ordering pizza from them for movie night. My kid loves the Detroit style “puffy pizza” and these guys make some of the best pizza in this area.

But

Tonight we ordered two pizzas. My vegan friends and I went to the Hartford pizza garden website to order the pizzas, click the order button, and saw that they had delivery available, so chose that because we have some kids and they and us were running around.

Hour later, no pizza. Keep getting notes about new delivery people. Finally hear that our order is canceled. Toast or whatever tech bro bullshit Hartford pizza garden decided to use canceled the order told us to contact the garden, so we did.

Garden tells us to contact DoorDash, the only problem is we never talked to DoorDash. Apparently a delivery person picked up our pizza and then 3 more came after to pickup our order.
Tech bro bullshit at its finest.

So this shit ass motherfucker took the pizzas and then three more DoorDash people went to go pick them up.

Hilarious, but we have these kids running around -kids with bedtimes looming- that are super hungry and so we are trying to figure out what to do.
Call Hartford Pizza Garden. and explain iu story to multiple people, who keep passing us off to tell another someone who may or may not have been Pepe who then told us to fuck off, literally on the phone, told us to fuck off that it was toast we should deal with toast or DoorDash or whatever bullshit

The sad thing is I really liked their pizza and I really liked talking to Pepe when I went in there. Man anyone with a luck dragon tattoos should be the coolest . But hearing him tell my friends to fuck off stung. I get having a small business probably sucks but like- here we are, loyal customers. Told to fuck off. On speakerphone.
Well, I guess I can’t do business with them anymore.
And now unfortunately i gotta figure out how to apologize to 20 kid’s parents and share this story.

I am looking for someone to teach me how to drive in the Hartford area. I can pay ~$20 an hour.

I’ll be in Hartford with nothing to do October 19 and 20.. recommendations? I love anything fall or Halloween related, any park to have a cute picnic in, any restaurant recommendations, must-see or must-do places, anything? I will be ubering anywhere I go as I won’t have my car with me. I wanted to do a ghost tour but can’t find one on those days :(

I normally don’t go out in Hartford despite being here for a long time. However, my friends are visiting from another state and want to go out. I’m not a club guy and don’t want anything super upbeat or crazy. Would prefer something chill and not ratchet lol. A place with decent food would be cool too. A place with hookah or cigs would be dope, but not necessary.

I took a walk around downtown and basically saw nothing to do. I do not own a car as my commute is a 5 minute walk, which sucks since the places that I found that interest me are an hour away minimum (not like I’m a good driver anyway 😂).
