The Monorail is back open as of today
On one train, but I'm glad to see it open again.

Hi!
I used to come here whenever we’d visit Harrisburg family when I grew up in the Midwest in the late 1970s/ early 1980s. Then fast forward to 2006-2013 and I came out every year with my husband, to visit my grandfather. Last big new ride I was on was Great Bear.
Fast Forward again, and we are going out there next week (May 27, 2026) and I’m looking at the website ……. and now, I’m an old lady with a heart condition and osteoporosis 🙄 (RIDE THOSE COASTERS WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG AND HEALTHY, PEOPLE! I’m glad I did when I could.) but I know my husband is going to want to hit the coasters, and man, it looks like there are a LOT of ones I don’t remember ever hearing the names of before (but maybe that’s bc I’m so damn old 😅)
For someone who grew up on the Comet and the sooperdooperlooper…….what should we expect from the newer (newer than Great Bear) coasters?
Where should my husband head first for the best coasters with shortest wait?
Do you think *I* could handle any of them now? Technically I’m only 54, but I feel much older 😔 decades of chronic pain will do that. But I rode them all in the back row, back in the day! 😉
Any guidance is appreciated! Thank you!
I want to take my wife to Hershey Park for the first time on Monday Memorial Day since we will be kid free we are mid 20s parents. I wonder if the weather being bad if that will help our odds of having a good first visit for her.

Huge shoutout to the Hersheypark Union maintenance team — along with the union maintenance and service workers at Hotel Hershey and GIANT Center — for stepping up and getting everything ready for the summer season opening while working without a contract and with strike talks still looming.
You all are the backbone of these properties. Year after year, you keep the rides safe and running smoothly, protect guests, maintain the utilities and facilities, and make sure everything operates at the high standard families expect. Your experience, skill, and relentless dedication are what keep these places safe and successful. That level of commitment is truly heroic!
It’s incredibly frustrating to watch the company and the LEADERSHIP TEAM continue to undervalue you. They’ve put forward three contract offers that fell far short of what you deserve, which the union rightly rejected. Now negotiations are dragging on, and the threat of a strike hangs in the air because the LEADERSHIP TEAM still refuses to fully recognize how essential you are across Hersheypark, Hotel Hershey, and GIANT Center.
You’ve gone above and beyond season after season, yet they’ve treated you as replaceable. It’s long past time Hershey Entertainment & Resorts stops taking you for granted and gives you the fair contract and respect you’ve earned.
Stay strong, stay united, and know your worth. The community, the guests, and everyone who loves these properties sees how irreplaceable you are — we’ve got your back. Over 500+ union members across all three properties are standing together fighting for the fair contract you deserve. Without you, they simply don’t run.
UNION STRONG 💪
Hi, I hope this sub is appropriate for this post. I've never been to the giant center or hershey park but I'm attending a concert at the giant center on May 31st. What should I know about parking? Is my only option paying for parking at the giant center or is there any kind of cheaper nearby option that is walking distance? Any general tips? Thank you!
-Waiting for Candymonium seems like you're just doing it wrong. From 1145-2 the app said there was a 120(!) minute wait. At 330 it was a walk on.
-Great Bear operations stand out as being particularly awful. Dispatches took up to 5 minutes consistently and not one of the operators seemed to care to fill empty seats. Most other coasters had perfectly fine ops. One guy on fahrenheit was doing a great job of filling every seat. Candy seemed to be dispatching every 90 seconds or so (at 3:30) which seems perfectly reasonable.
-Wildcat's revenge was insane in the back row and then even more insane in the back row in the afternoon. I had to push the restraint down closer to me in the middle because the airtime was so intense I was banging my stomach uncomfortably with my loose lap bar. What a ride.
-Kudos to whomever wrote a while back that if you ride Skyrush in the back wing, "your soul will leave your body on the first drop". Best and most accurate description ever. Thanks for the recommendation.
