16 year old HP LaserJet P2035n auto continue

So I have a HP P2035n that I've had since 2010 in college. It's great, I love it, it's a beast of a machine and prints like a champ. Recently though I've noticed that it has a few issues when communicating with newer laptops. I'm currently running it as a network printer using a TCP/IP port and it prints just fine from my main home desktop (custom built from 2018, WIN 11, latest drivers, yada yada). On my desktop I tried using the WSD install method that Windows uses but there were constant issues with communication, (wouldn't send documents to printer, couldn't find printer, printer needed attention). My wife has a brand new laptop from work, (HP, WIN 11, limited access) and I have a new laptop from work as well (Dell, WIN 11, pretty beastly, I work with CADD). The laptops find the printer no problem using the TCP/IP port. The issue is that with the laptops, the printer doesn't auto print, I have to manually press the green arrow button on the printer. I haven't had to do that before (I had an older laptop from work that worked just fine with the printer). I have the latest drivers installed on both laptops and I've tried to do factory resets on the printer to see if there was an issue. I have the auto continue option checked in the printer configuration. I have looked online at HP forums and none have given me any hope. My wife is getting upset about having to manually press the button for each print job and threatening to just go and buy a new printer. Please help me save this printer so that it can give me another 15 years for our home!

EDIT: setting paper source from main tray to automatically select fixed the issue.

HP Struggling to fix broken firmware for top model omen

I have posted this on HP Support a few times and contacted support, so far no fiix for a 5000$ laptop. Many Omen 16 MAX laptops have a bug in the firmware that stops COD Warzone and some other games to fail. Details needed to fix the problem are below, but HP needs to correct it, you can't do it yourself. The result: Failred attestation error as it appears the bios is not consistent and you could be cheating. I'm not, I just have an HP bios that is not working as it shoud.

This is a firmware spec-compliance issue, not a game/software support request — this needs to be routed to firmware engineering.

 Summary
On the OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ah0xxx, the Insyde BIOS (F.22, 29-04-2026) does not produce a TCG measured-boot event log that matches the actual PCR0 value in the TPM. As a result, Microsoft Azure Attestation (and any application relying on Remote Attestation, e.g. RICOCHET Anti-Cheat) cannot fully attest the platform.

Evidence (Windows 11, Build 26200 — TPM-WMI Event ID 1041, Attestation Readiness Verifier):
- HealthStatus: "Possibly attestable"
- PcrsMatchTcgLog: false
- BitMaskOfPcrMismatches: 1 → PCR0 mismatch
- SoftwarePcrReplayHresult: 0, HardwarePcrReplayHresult: 0 (replay succeeds mechanically; this is a content mismatch, i.e. missing/incorrect PCR0 event logging by firmware)
- EkCertIsAvailable: true, TcgLogFound: true, SecureBootEnabled: true (verifiable from TCG log)
- Bitlocker PCR7 Binding State: Binding Possible

This rules out user configuration: TPM 2.0 (Intel PTT), Secure Boot, UEFI, GPT and PCR7 are all correct. The defect is that the firmware does not measure/log all PCR0 (platform firmware) events into the TCG event log per the TCG PC Client Platform Firmware Profile Specification, so the log replay does not reproduce PCR0.

 System details
- Product: OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ah0xxx
- SKU: B9EY6EA#ABH
- Baseboard: 8D41
- BIOS: Insyde F.22 (29-04-2026), Embedded Controller 38.46
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
- TPM: Intel PTT (INTC), fw 700.19.1005.2175, PC Client 1.04, Spec 1.59
- OS: Windows 11 Home, Build 26200

Please release a BIOS/firmware update for the OMEN MAX 16-ah0xxx (baseboard 8D41) that correctly measures and logs all PCR0 platform-firmware events into the TCG event log per the TCG PC Client Platform Firmware Profile Specification, so that measured-boot replay matches PCR0 and Remote Attestation (MAA) succeeds. Other OEMs have already shipped equivalent fixes for this exact issue.

My Mom doesn't want to switch to the new laptop

My Mom spilt coffee on her new HP Laptop for the 2nd time (couple years ago); so we took it apart and rinsed it in the bathtub and surprisingly it worked. Later the screen bracket broke somehow, I think because some tabs were broken when it was disassembled the first time. She didn't want to spend money on a new one so me and my brother mounted it onto a piece of wood.. Later she closed the lid and cracked the screen on one of the screws used to mount the keyboard down to the wood (which has since been moved). She has a new laptop right next to it that she doesn't want to use because of the effort to switch to the new one.. lol, let me know what you think in the comments.

Ain't This Model Meant To Go To 140w??

I am trying to reach out to others with the same device since I cannot find jackshit online.

So the specs if you haven't bothered to read whats on the images (which is fair it's tiny text)

If you have a i7-14650HX + 5070 Ti combo please run a benchmark and see if it peaks above 140w draw when everything is set to performance.

And for the tech experts. One of the main reasons I bought this laptop is because in the spec sheet it was listed to have a TGP of 115w+25 boost. Right now it seems to only have a draw of 100+15w. Which Is why i'm so fucking confused. I don't think it is normal either because support has already taken 4 business days with their specialist team and there seems to be no response.

Extra info for copy paste accessibility:

System Model OMEN Gaming Laptop 16-am1xxx

System Type x64-based PC

System SKU C8KU8PA#ABG

BIOS Version/Date AMI F.07, 14/04/2026

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14650HX, 2200 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)

Feel free to ask for any more info that you need in the comments below.

Thank you for your time.

HP Omen 25L RAM upgrade

Would the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 32GB 3200MHz work to replace my current 16gb?

I ask since I know prebuilts have a tendency to reject parts. The specific Omen I have is the 25L GT-15 0324.

Thank you!!

Fuck hp

Today I had to help one of my friends with his PC. What should’ve been a very simple 1–2 hour fix turned into a nightmare. His Windows install was corrupted (for seemingly no fucking reason he said it just happened randomly), so I created a new installation USB drive. When I powered on his PC, it wouldn’t even enter the BIOS at first because I guess the bios was fucked up too. After about an hour and a half of trying to fix the BIOS and failing, I finally got it to work after removing one of his RAM sticks. I got into the BIOS and tried to install the new Windows setup. Everything was going fine until it was almost finished. It asked if I wanted to continue, I clicked yes, and then it threw a “Secure Boot” error and failed. After about three hours of messing with every possible BIOS setting, boot order, and even completely resetting the BIOS to factory defaults, it still failed. The NVMe drive is completely functional, and so are all the other components. I even followed the instructions on the HP website, but nothing worked. So now, he’s going to have to buy a new motherboard. Honestly, I would’ve recommended that anyway since it doesn’t have ReBAR, EXPO, Manual overclocking, or really any other basic fucking BIOS features. Yeah so I’m done with HP. I will never be buying their products again, and I wouldn’t recommend them either. If you want to have a good experience, He has a Intel i5 10400f a duel channel 32 gb 3200mhz ddr4 ram kit (one dimm may not be working) a 1660 super and he's going to buy the ASRock B560M-C it's seemed like a good deal for under 100 so I recommended it, he also plans to get a 5050. Anyway if you have any better suggestions me and him would gladly take them my boi just wants to play fucking rust man.

Hp Purchase/Return Process is Laughably Bad

Bought a new hp workstation on Jun 1st. Or at lest that’s when I was finally able to get my purchase approved by HP after paying about a week and a half earlier and then being forced to go through 2 separate verifications and waiting to be allowed to purchase from the illustrious Hewlett Packard.

I was given express shipping as an apology for the long process, cool. Workstation arrived 3 days later on the 4th. Since that day every 4-5th startup I would be forced to plug in to an outlet and then restart. Why? Idk but after the initial headache I just said fuck it and after about 3 weeks of ownership decided I could do much better for $10,000.

I now am waiting to be allowed to return my defective workstation. Received an Email saying that “many seemingly out of the box defective products can actually be fixed by our tech support“ brother if it needs to be fixed that means it’s defective. Im being told I need to unpackaged the workstation once again, set it up once again, and then allow their support to remote into the workstation or else they’re going to charge me $1500 to return the laptop which is laughable.

In any case I don’t recommend giving HP your money. there are significantly better companies that deserve it.

Updates for Getting Payment on the Rivian $250 million Settlement

Hey guys, if you missed it, Rivian settled $250 million with investors over claims that it failed to disclose the true cost of producing its vehicles. And, I just found out that they’re accepting claims even though the deadline has passed.

Quick recap: In 2022, Rivian was accused of misleading investors about its vehicle pricing and production costs. In short, the company promoted its R1T pickup and R1S SUV as competitively priced electric vehicles, but investors later alleged that Rivian was losing substantial amounts of money on each vehicle sold and failed to clearly disclose how severe the cost gap was. As supply-chain issues and material costs increased, Rivian announced major price hikes that sparked customer backlash and raised concerns about the company’s financial outlook.

Now, the good news is that the company agreed to settle $250 million with them, and even though the deadline has passed recently, they’re accepting late claims.

So, if you invested in $RIVN when all of this happened, you can still check the details and file your claim here.

Anyway, has anyone here invested in $RIVN at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

Printer goes crazy on me and I don't know why PLS HELP

So before any of these papers started printing like this, the printer was just doing fine. And after which, I wanted to connect our printer to my new laptop, and when I printed from there, it started this behavior.

No matter how I choose "fill page" or "fit to page" option, it won't just do it. Along with it, bunch of black lines appeared on the right side of the paper as with the image below.

I installed HP smart and HP, both on my phone and laptop, and it did nothing. Even with the updated drivers and the diagnostics I've run. Also, additional info, the Ink Supply is still at 40%. AHHH I NEED MY FILES PRINTED OUT

Am I cooked?

This is an elitebook 830 G6. I've just noticed these marks on the screen, it only shows on dark screens (never on bright ones, I tried). Wonder if its a backlight bleed or something worse

Battery Draining Super Fast on New Laptop

I bought a new HP laptop. It's an Intel Core 5 ultra.

It's done all its updates and set ups etc, but the battery is draining super quick.

For example, It was fully charged this morning at 100% and I've been on it for 10 minutes and its already dropped to 89%.

I've gone into the settings and applied all of the battery recommendations, but that doesn't seem to be slowing it down.

I dont have much installed on it besides the usual like Chrome, Brave, Nord VPV and qbitorrent.

It does come with Co-Pilot installed so Im wondering if thats doing it in the background.

For comparison, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and I can use that for hours without the battery percentage even moving.

What can I do for the HP to stop it draining so fast?

On my new PC, the Desktop looks squished from the sides even though it's on the correct resolution for my monitor!

Basically what the title says!

Is there a way to make it look normal, and not squished while keeping it on the correct resolution?

Oh and, I've only got this one monitor!

p.s. ... Yes, I've checked that it's on the correct resolution - as you should have been able to guess from the title of this post!

HP ProBook 4 G1i (14 inch) Won’t Wake from Sleep – "Video Idle Timeout" in SleepStudy

Hi all,

I’m experiencing an issue with my HP ProBook 450 G1 (14 inch, Windows 11 25H2) where it sometimes fails to wake from sleep. The only way to recover is a forced restart (holding the power button). This happens after the laptop has been idle for a while.

I checked the SleepStudy report in Windows, and the Entry Reason is listed as "Video Idle Timeout", but there’s no additional details or error codes.

BIOS is up to date (latest version from HP’s support site).

Has anyone encountered this before? Any insights or fixes would be greatly appreciated!
