I'm in Minneapolis MN and our basement rec room is where everyone actually watches games bc my upstairs roommate never turns off reality TV lol.

The old 50" Samsung from 2016 finally started doing the corner glow thing last month. Tax refund means I have about $1100 to spend once, not looking to finance anything.

Room is mostly underground. Tiny east-facing window well so it's not the west-window glare horror stories I keep seeing on here. Ceiling is low though, lighting is cheap LEDs, and there are still afternoons where everything looks kinda muddy on the old set.

I've lurked this sub for two weeks and somehow got MORE lost. My uncle in Shanghai keeps sending retailer screenshots that just say Hisense E3S Pro+ and I honestly cant tell what that maps to on a US shelf label.

Mostly NFL with friends and PS5 nights. My parents visit sometimes and will never touch picture settings. I dont have cash for extra audio gear right now so the TV speakers have to carry conversation for game night, nothing fancy.

Is 65" sane for ~10ft seating in a basement or do people regret not grabbing 75 when they had the cash? And does Fire TV vs Google TV actually matter if you're mostly Prime and YouTube anyway?

So suddenly I see a quick nearly imperceivable flash of a super thin horizontal line appear and disappear. It only does it once and not again throughout the movie or shows. It's really quick and you may not even catch it. Once when watching a stream on Netflix. Just once. After I finished. I switched to HULU to watch a show and it did it again, barely catching it, just once. I rewind the scenes each time and it doesn't do it again. I then switched to another stream to watch from my Homesharing server and it did it again once and never again. It's super fast too, if you don't pay attention you can easily miss it. So is this a warning sign of imminent death? I have that cheap 85QD7N.
