Hisense 65" U7 Mini-LED TV Review: Premium Gaming & Bright Rooms

Been using the Hisense 65" U7 Mini-LED ULED 4K UHD Google Smart TV (65U75QG, 2025 Model) for a bit now and figured I'd share what I noticed before I forget the small stuff.

TL;DR: The Hisense 65" U7 Mini-LED ULED 4K UHD Google Smart TV is an excellent choice for serious gamers and anyone needing a vibrant, glare-free viewing experience in bright rooms. Its high refresh rate, Mini-LED technology, and anti-reflection screen deliver impressive performance for its price point.

**What I liked**

  • Native 165Hz refresh rate with VRR up to 288Hz provides ultra-smooth gaming.
  • Mini-LED and QLED technologies deliver good contrast, deep blacks, and vibrant colors.
  • Up to 3000 Nits peak brightness ensures stunning HDR and excellent visibility in bright rooms.
  • Anti-Reflection screen significantly reduces glare from ambient light sources.

**Worth knowing before you buy**

  • While excellent for gaming, dedicated audiophiles might still prefer an external sound system over the built-in 2.1.2 Ch audio.
  • The 2025 model designation might imply a higher price point compared to previous year models, though current pricing is competitive.
  • Google Smart TV interface, while powerful, can sometimes feel a bit cluttered for users preferring simpler systems.

Overall: The Hisense 65" U7 Mini-LED ULED 4K UHD Google Smart TV (2025 Model) delivers a truly premium viewing and gaming experience without the premium price tag. If you're a gamer or simply want a stunning, glare-free picture in any room, this TV is a smart investment that punches above its weight.

Software Update

Hi everybody,

I reconnected my 55U7K to the internet and got a notice that my S/W version is 0100PP0414 and that there is a newer version available; 0100EP1022. I have read some horror stories here about updates ruining the TV. Is this update safe to load or should I stick with my current version. I usually use Xfinity Flex box or Roku box, but they are both a few years old and I'm thinking they are not providing the highest level of picture and sound available.

Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.

Thinking about getting hisense u6 pro

I’ve been looking at upgrading the TV in my living room and recently started considering the hisense u6 pro 85".

I’ve actually had a smaller hisense in my bedroom for a couple years now and it’s been totally fine for me so far, so I’m a lot less skeptical about the brand than I used to be.

Going up to 85" feels kind of crazy though, especially since my current setup is nowhere near that size.

Main thing I’m wondering is how well the mini led performs on a panel this big in real use.

Does blooming get distracting during movies or dark scenes?

And how does it handle daytime viewing with some sunlight in the room?

I mostly watch sports and play PS5, so brightness matters more to me than perfect home theater black levels.

Anyone here actually spent some time with this model yet?

Picked up a TV yesterday

My beloved 42" Panasonic ST plasma died Saturday evening so i began the search for a replacement. I live very rural so finding a 144 hz TV was a challenge. After driving two hours to look at a 65" U6 on steep discount the store employee said another location two hours away had a 75" open box for the same price. After taking some measurements on my vehicle I set off to buy the 75. After a ten hour day I have it set up temporarily on my snake enclosure while I wait for a wall mount. I am still mourning the loss of the ST, but the U6 is pretty good! My highest fidelity physical media was the OG Alien, so that's what I watched last night lol

Hisense are saying it's an impact. But the owner lives alone and the screen is protruding outwards.

The tech was called to assess this damage as somehow between when they turned it off and back on again within a 48 hour period, the TV internally exploded. The tech is calling it an impact. But they live alone, and the TV is not in an area that would even get foot traffic.

Years ago I remember CCTV of a screen cracking and the poster of that footage said that the manufacturer would not have believed them had they not had the footage. I've also seen similar examples online of damage like this due to internal defects.

Could this be the result of one of those defects? Or did someone break in and smash the TV?

Have a 55inch Hisense about 3-4 years old(maybe a U6 mini led?) The HBO app was automatically updated and then wouldn’t let me access it. Deleted the App but won’t let me download the app? Any ideas?

Apple TV 4K 3rd gen completely laggy and remote sluggish after switching to Hisense U7Q

So I just got a Hisense U7Q like 4 days ago and the TV itself is honestly amazing, zero complaints. But my Apple TV 4K 3rd gen is driving me absolutely insane right now.

Before the Hisense I had an old Samsung LED from 2014, nothing special at all, and my Apple TV worked perfectly fine on it for years. Plugged it into the new Hisense and suddenly everything is a complete mess. The UI is super laggy, the remote feels like it's stuck in mud, there's this horrible delay between pressing a button and something actually happening. It's basically unusable.

The weird thing is literally nothing changed. Same Apple TV, same HDMI cable, I just switched TVs. So I have no idea what's going on.

Has anyone had this happen? Is this a known thing with Hisense and Apple TV? Do I just need to factory reset it or is there something in the TV settings I need to change?

Currently going insane over here because the TV is great but this is ruining the experience 😅

U8QG on sale at Best Buy. Looking for thoughts on price

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a 100" U8QG and noticed Best Buy has it listed on sale for $2,797. Does that sound like a good price? I'm new to the market and haven't had a chance to follow deals yet

Hisense TV says Wi-Fi password not valid after switching routers

I recently switched internet from a cable modem and router to a T-Mobile home internet gateway. The network name and password is the same, all my other household devices connect except for my two TVs. Does anyone know the solution to my problem? 75U8H Edit: fixed by changing router WPA3 to WPA2

Any Tips for Hi-Sense Support? 55U7N

Any Tips welcomed, I've been dealing with Support for almost 2 weeks and barely anything on their end gets done without me calling them. Just got off the phone and the lady finally opened my email from Saturday to see all the videos/pictures I sent. I bought it last year in February, it's barely a year old, and I hardly use it since I have kids and its for my game systems in my basement, so it maybe gets 10-15 hours a week. I love the picture, and the TV, but this support is driving me crazy. How hard is it to obviously see my TV has problems, and either refund me or send me a replacement? I haven't even got to the point where they send a technician or have me destroy my panel. I've seen stories of people on here getting replacements in 24 hours or 7 days, and here I am almost 2 weeks in still waiting for them to tell me what to do with my TV.

I've system reset this TV 3 times as well, and nothing has seemed to help me. So any Tips for fixing it is welcome too. Please excuse the mess on my coffee table, I wasn't expecting to have to share this online when I took it a week ago.

Anyone else been having this issue with their main broadcast and how to fix it? I’ve tried clearing cache and uninstalling the app, however those did not work. It’s been this way with the NBA playoffs, however don’t have this issue with watching WNBA games on prime. I have a Hisense TV

Unable to install Roku app on Hisense Fire TV in Canada.

I bought a Hisense QD7QFM which is the Fire TV version.
Before buying it I checked that Amazon actually had the Roku app for these TVs and they do.

After I set up the TV I went to the app store and tried to install Roku but even when the store says it's compatible with my TV, I just got "unavailable for your country" message.

Has Amazon deliberately blocked this for Canada? I assume there is no way to get it installed and I am forced to get an external Roku if I want to watch the content from Roku?
