Hisense u7k after 2 years

Reached out to Hisense about this absolute crazy massive yellowing on the tv. Fairly sure they are going to tell me to go away, but £700 for a tv that lasts 2 years is fairly disheartening. Anyone know why this might have happened?

Hisense U65 Pro 75" or 85"

I went TV shopping with a budget of around $800 and was pretty much ready to buy the 75" Hisense U65 Pro for $750.

Then I saw the 85" for $1,100 and started second guessing it. It's $350 more, but the size difference looks pretty huge in person.

My couch is about 10 feet from the TV, and I have enough wall space for either size. We mostly watch movies and sports, with some gaming here and there.

The 75" fits my budget perfectly, but $1,100 for an 85" honestly feels like a really good price. Now I'm wondering if I should just spend a little more and go bigger.

Anyone sitting around 10 feet from an 85"? Would you pay the extra $350, or is 75" already plenty?

Got my Hisense U6 Pro today!

My 65 inch Hisense U6 Pro finally arrived 🙌 I paid around $600 for it, which felt pretty reasonable for a 65" MiniLED. Still need to finish taking all the protective stuff off, but I already love it.

I rent, so I didn’t want to drill into the wall or build the whole room around a TV. I put it on a rolling TV stand instead and honestly that might be my favorite part of the setup. I can pull it closer when I’m doing yoga, move it out of the way when I need more floor space, or turn it a little depending on where I’m sitting.

I cast yoga videos while the sunlight is coming through the windows in the morning. So the anti-reflection screen can be useful for that. I don’t have to shut the curtains just to see what’s happening on screen.

The MiniLED picture is a huge upgrade from the tiny old TV that came with the place. Even regular streaming looks much better.

Wasn’t sure if buying a bigger TV while renting was a dumb idea, but so far I’m very happy I did lol.

55UR8SG or 55U7SF or 55U6SF Pro

Looking for a living room TV. 40% TV, 40% movie 20% sport. I was originally going to go with the U7 as a better value but it has an IPS panel.

Should I stick with that or do the UR8 or U6Pro? The U6 Pro is cheaper than both but has fewer diming zones and no DV2. The UR8 comes with free mounting and haul away.

Finally upgraded the TV in my living room

Finally replaced my old living room TV with the 75" Hisense U8QG last week. I had been putting this upgrade off for a while, so I spent way too much time comparing different MiniLED TVs before buying it.

First thing I noticed was the brightness. My living room gets a lot of daylight, and my old TV struggled once the sun came in. The U8QG is rated for up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, and you can definitely tell it has a lot of brightness to work with during the day. The anti-glare coating helps too. I have recessed lights in the room and their reflections are much less distracting now.

The MiniLED local dimming has probably been the biggest picture upgrade for me. Dark scenes actually look dark, but I can still see details in shadows. Bright parts of the picture stand out without turning the whole screen bright. City scenes at night look especially good.

Color has surprised me too. It can look very vivid, but it doesn’t have that fake neon look. Grass looks properly green, skin tones look natural, and there is a lot more separation between reds, oranges and yellows than I was used to.

I’ve also been using the built-in Google TV a lot. Apps open quickly and the interface feels responsive. The remote is pretty nice too. It lights up when I pick it up, which is actually useful at night.

The audio was another surprise. It has a 4.1.2 speaker setup, and it gets louder than I expected without voices getting messy. Dialogue is clear, and there is enough bass for normal gaming, movies and streaming. I thought I’d immediately add external audio, but I haven’t felt much need yet.

Still early, but after a week I’m really impressed with the U8QG. The upgrade from my old TV is much bigger than I expected.

Anti-Reflection & Glare-Free Screen

Does the anti-reflection screen have any negative impact on the mini-led models? Does it make the picture look washed or not as bright, etc? I've read that the mini-led usually counters the typical drawbacks to these types of screens, but it would be great to hear from anyone who has direct experience. Thanks.

Hisense C2 Ultra: New Update V0000.09.61U.Q0730 Fixes 3D Resolution, but Breaks HDMI Handshake (Green Flickering & Inverted 3D)!

Hey everyone,

I downloaded a new firmware update this morning on my Hisense C2 Ultra: V0000.09.61U.Q0730 (running VIDAA OS).

The patch notes were very brief, only mentioning "New AI technology for picture and sound" with no further details.

The Good:

It seems like the notorious 3D half-resolution bug has finally been fixed! The 3D image looks properly detailed and really sharp now.

The Bad (Severe 3D Handshake & Display Bugs):

Unfortunately, major new glitches pop up when starting or playing 3D content from my 3D Blu-ray player:

Extreme Green Flickering: When the projector initially detects the 3D signal, the entire screen frequently flickers and flashes violently in bright green.

Inverted 3D: Very frequently, the 3D depth is reversed / inverted (left/right eyes swapped).

Format Glitches: It constantly gets confused and defaults to or forces Top/Bottom 3D format.

Fixing it is a hassle: It takes forever to get a proper 3D signal. I constantly have to switch inputs back and forth (between the VIDAA home screen and the Blu-ray player input) multiple times until the picture stabilizes and locks into the correct 3D mode. It's super frustrating!

Has anyone else received the V0000.09.61U.Q0730 update yet?

Are you experiencing similar green flickering or 3D handshake issues, and does anyone have a workaround or settings tweak to fix this?

Black Smudges Inside TV?

Hi guys, I recently bought a Hisense 75U6H. I set it up yesterday and everything was fine. I was using it to game, then paused and took a few minute break and then when I came back, I saw these smudges. When I turn the Tv off there’s nothing there, not a scratch, or a blemish in the area even when I shine a flashlight against it. I will be transparent and say I do have a cat, and it could have been him but I don’t see any scratches what so ever even remotely around the area. It also appears to be behind the screen because the light seemed to bend around it.

Wondering what it is, what caused this and if there’s an easy way to fix this.

Tv HiSense U7N : problemi di ghosting sui contenuti HDR

Salve a tutti, ancora nessuna patch dopo quasi 20 giorni.

Which to get?

Been looking at the Vizio mini led and Hisense m7 mini led but can’t decide which is the better choice. If you have experience with either of these specific TVs or the brands themselves can you let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Two months with the Hisense U7

Been using the Hisense U7 for about two months now after replacing a TV that was around five years old, and the upgrade has been way more noticeable than I expected.

Picture Quality

The video and pictures are absolutely stunning. The screen is incredibly bright, even with the sun coming through my windows, I don’t get the annoying glare I used to. (There is SOME but a noticeable difference between the old TV ) The colors pop, and the dark scenes actually look black rather than that washed-out gray you see on older TVs. Whether it’s sports or a movie, the clarity is impressive.

Smart Features & Google TV

One of my favorite things is the Google TV integration. It’s very fast and responsive. On my old TV, the menus would lag or freeze, but this one is snappy. It connected to my Google Home setup instantly, so I can control it with the rest of my smart devices without any hassle.

Other

Connectivity has been pretty convenient too. The U7 has four HDMI 2.1 ports, so I’ve got enough room for my console, streaming box, and audio setup without constantly swapping cables around. I also have a couple of other devices plugged in from time to time, so having the extra ports is genuinely useful.

I did have a small hiccup at the very beginning where HDMI ARC took a minute to sync up and recognize my speakers, but once it connected, it stayed solid.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for a high-end experience without the high-end price tag, this is it. Highly recommended!

Is a burnt ribbon cable fixable?

I have a HiSmart 4k tv bought in 2020. Recently I smelled something burning and the screen flickered then went super dim. Removing the back panel I found one of the ribbon cables burnt and melting. It seems to have burned the motherboard as well. Is this something where I can replace the cable or do I have to call it a day?
