Narrow entryway shoe cabinet dilemma

Hey all! I am looking for a rather narrow show cabinet for my entryway. It can fit something no wider than 45 cm.

I have found some items but they are not necessarily shoe cabinets . I wonder if i would be able to add a shelf to the daals one ? I dont want to break it and i doubt i can find something from Ikea that would fit.

The dunelm one is a great size and looks good too but it is a chest of drawers 😑

H 100cm x W 43cm x D 30cm

Drawers: H 14.5cm x D 35cm x D 23.5cm

So i highly doubt i can fit any shoes in there. All my shoes are size 7. Has anyone come across a closed shoe cabinet on 4 legs with similar dimensions in the UK ? I have given up hopes of finding one made of solid wood and can settle for mamufactured wood *sigh*.

I like the look of the last one too but alas it is too wide. All in all, I need the cabinet to fit the size constraint and be on 4 legs so that i can easily vaccuum underneath and its not visually heavy.

Thank you xxxx

When I painted the walls it bubbled so we plastered and now it has bubbled the plaster

We used emulsion paint over existing paint , primed the walls first with a watered down coat . It bubbled so we filled and sanded the bubbles , used zinser peel stop and another coat of emulsion and it still bubbled . So we replastered the wall and now it has bubbled the plaster , what are my next options other than reboarding the wall

Starting point decorating advice needed :)

I live in a 2-bed new build with one bathroom upstairs and a downstairs WC, and it’s finally time to redecorate. The problem is… I have absolutely zero interior design skills and no idea where to even begin, so the whole thing feels really overwhelming.

I thought a good starting point might be creating an interior plan for each room, so I can tackle one thing every week or month while still keeping sight of the bigger picture and making sure everything flows together.

My question is: what do you all use to plan your interiors? Pinterest boards, Word docs, Canva, mood boards, apps, spreadsheets, actual design programmes? I genuinely have no clue where to start.

I also work full time and have two kids, and I'm doing it alone so I’m really trying to keep the overwhelm and budget to a minimum and make this feel manageable rather than chaotic.  Any tips, systems, or beginner-friendly advice would be massively appreciated!

Leeds terrace house basement - could this be lead paint?

Hello Leeds DIY hive mind!

Living in a Leeds and recently bought a terrace house built 1903. I want to knock all this paint off in the basement as it’s flaking away quite badly and looks like maybe moist underneath. My idea is to knock it all off and perhaps repaint in breathable masonry paint or leave the bricks to breathe.

Is it possible there is lead in this paint and does anyone know what the paint type is likely to be just from images?

Or any tips for how I should work with it or leave it to help with damp, breathabilty, brick salts and all the usual concerns in these old Victorian properties.

Pictures attached so you can see what I’m working with.

Thanks!!
George

Hi, we're looking to get a fairly big awning over our south facing deck and patio doors, and we've landed on a Weinor model. A few local companies have quoted us at £7-8K for the options we want and install (a lot more than we expected), but there's one company who's doing the exact same spec for 2-3K less than everone else.

I know online reviews can be manipulated or outright false, but the cheaper option does get very good reviews across Gmaps, Checkatrade, and Trustindex.

We struggle to figure out which side is taking the piss here, any thoughts?

Thanks
