LS2 Advant X Fully Forged Carbon helmet first impression.

New outta box and wasn’t sure what to expect with that price point it was at. I started with a scorpion exo gt630 over 7 years ago and loved it. Then I wanted a 3/4 helmet and got a cheaper Bilt brand from Cycle gear. Then I wanted carbon so here we are. First impression is the finish quality. It’s better than expected and I honestly feel like I rather shine it more rather than use it outside. The mechanism itself feels crisp and sturdy which was reassuring seeing that I would potentially use this on gravel roads. Probably the only gripe I have is the extra bit of plastic to lift the clear lens is only at the top. I may get used to it but I was familiar with those knits being on the bottom.
I got a size XL and it does feel large but the comfort is there. Weight is shy of 1800 grams. Not sure how everyone online sees it being around 1550 grams
Hopefully I can have a comment on the ventilation at a later point.

2018 ATAS manual rear suspension upgrade recommendations?

Hi folks!

I'm setting up my 2018 ATAS manual as primarily long distance adv touring bike, weeks on the road, 50/50 pavement and gravel/forest roads, with occasional gnarly and sketchy side quests (bcs adv, right).

Me and my riding and camping gear currently weigh around 300lbs~130k (rough estimate) riding without panniers.

But planning on adding racks and panniers and a few more luxury items for extended trips, and I'll be looking at 330lbs or 150kg (even rougher estimate).

I'm already experiencing extreme chain tension on rough roads and I need to resolve that ASAP.

Never upgraded suspension before, so this is a new rabbit hole for me.

Looking for quality brands, this is my forever bike, and I'm buy once cry once type of a guy, looking for tips and recommendations...

Your input is much appreciated, thanks and ride safe everyone! ✌🏻

Tubeless vs. tubed tires on the Africa Twin – what’s your experience?

Hi everyone,

I don’t have an Africa Twin yet, but I’m seriously considering buying one and I’m trying to decide between a model with tubeless wheels and one with traditional tubed spoke wheels.
I’ve read the technical pros and cons, but I’d like to hear from actual owners:

• If you have a tubeless Africa Twin:
• Do you feel it’s significantly better in daily use (on-road and light/moderate off-road)?
• Have tubeless tires saved you from headaches with punctures or roadside repairs?
• Any issues with rim damage, beads sealing, or compatibility with certain tires?
• If you have a tubed Africa Twin (or had one before):
• Have you been able to get along perfectly fine with tubes?
• How often do you get flats, and how hard are they to deal with on the road/trip?
• Would you upgrade to tubeless if you bought again, or are you happy staying with tubes?

Basically: is tubeless on the Africa Twin a “must-have” upgrade, or can you live very comfortably with the tubed setup and just carry a spare tube / pump / CO₂?
If you could briefly mention your typical riding (mostly road, mixed, or serious off-road) that would help a lot.

Thanks in advance for your experiences!
