Dealer did breakin service and didn’t put the drain plug on right :)

Crossposting this to here and the cbr subreddit.
I bought a brand new 600rr less than 2 weeks ago. Took it to a different dealer for the first service from whom I purchased the bike because they’re 300 miles away. Did the breakin service at 585 miles on the odo.
After getting the service done, I was on the highway on my way back home and within 6-8 from the dealer, I lost all power.
The dealer either left the oil drain plug loose or either reused the crush washer, didn’t install one correctly or entirely or some combination of them. Could also be that they overfilled oil and the drain plug was the first thing to go after the oil got up to normal temperature. Dealer stated that the crush washer failed. Do I believe that? Idk

I was going about 75-80 on the highway when I lost all power and the low oil pressure light came on followed shortly by the check engine light. I was in the left most lane and since I was going slower than the flow of traffic when I realized I didn’t have power, I couldn’t safely pull to the right shoulder so I missed an exit and had to take the next one. By the time I was in the right most lane to exit, I was going 38-40 mph. Speed limit is 65/70 on the highway. After getting on the exit lane, I pulled the clutch and let it coast to a stop on the shoulder. The bike completely shut off when I had the clutch pulled.

I immediately called the dealer when I stopped and told them what was happening. I didn’t realize I was losing oil at first because I was so discombobulated but I tried cranking the engine on THEIR request and it was a very slow crank. When I was on hold for the 2nd time in 10 minutes, I saw that the back tire was covered in oil along with everything else in the back half. It also smelled like burning oil the whole time I was stopped.
The dealer called their company truck out to the bike and brought it back to them. They did a very rudimentary check, filled it with oil and said it looks fine and that I’m free to take it home.
However, I heard them try to crank it while I was outside smoking and it sounded like metal on metal screeching.
I did NOT want to take this bike home in the condition it was and told them as such. They then offered to do a compression test in the morning which was today. That pissed me off even more. Like why wasn’t that included in the most basic initial check and why’d they wait until I said I didn’t want to take it home in the condition it was in for them to even suggest it.
Anyways, they did the compression test today and said it was 170/155/155/160. They said the cylinders are within 10% of each other so it’s fine and the inside cylinders run cooler hence the discrepancy. I don’t trust them to do ANYTHING on the bike after they couldn’t secure a drain plug on right. Yes there’s a possibility that that is all just a freak occurrence but try to put yourself in my shoes. How would you feel if the first service caused your baby to get covered in oil and almost kill you

I told them I’d be contacting Honda for a new engine because I will never trust any work they do and THEN they said we can look deeper. We did see one of the valves be darker than the others. Do you see the pattern? They only escalate when I say I’m not taking it home and are trying to do the bare minimum possible to get it off their hands.
So right now I don’t want them touching the bike. Honda corporate is closed for the weekend and open up on Monday. The dealer is closed Sunday Monday. Earliest I can get both parties involved with each other is Tuesday at the earliest.
I had plans to finally send it at high rpms after a tortuous almost 2 weeks of babying jt for the breakin. I had done NO mods, not even a tail tidy/fender eliminator because of the stories of getting denied warranty if you even look at your bike with intentions of modding lmao.
What are my options here? Is an engine replacement something they can accommodate?
Also, I asked them to clean the bike as well where all the oil was. They said they cleaned it and I literally saw pools of oil in every single tread on the rear tire. Not even a wash :)
Attaching all pictures that I took including it still leaking a the last bit of oil on the trailer bed.

Totaled.

Hello. I bought this 600rr back in december 2025 and the previous owner installed these aftermarket crash pads. Didn't really think much of it but yesterday i had alot of time on my hands and I did some basic maintenance , got curious and I removed the fairings... and what the f***. I've been riding this bike for about 8000km's since i got it that including some track days and some vacations with my girlfriend. For context: the previous owner thought it was a good idea to DRILL A HOLE INTO THE ALLUMINIUM FRAME on both sides to mount the crash pads. Thoughts?

Clattering Noise From 600rr

Recently bought an 03 Cbr600rr with around 21k miles. It runs like a champ but a while back I noticed it started making this high frequency buzzing noise underneath the exhaust tone when I’m riding. I figured it might’ve been a loose fairing or something but it also made it in neutral sitting still. It also started making that clattering at idle and when letting off as heard in the video. I swapped a manual cct into it and adjusted it as well as I could and the noise hadn’t gone away. It had been sitting for a while and I hadn’t done anything to it and I started it today and it seems like it’s gotten worse.

2026 NA, How to enable quickshifter?

Forgive my "noob" status but I just bought the new 2026 cbr600rr, coming off my only motorcycle experience being my 2016 Honda Fury. I have read through the entire manual and looked online at countless videos and posts and I cannot find a definitive answer. Does this bike have a factory quick shifter? AI Google says it does. Also says I need to activate it using the instrument cluster which I don't understand. Literally nobody has talked about it or mentioned it that I can find. Any info on this would be fantastic, thank you.

New CBR admirer — Z900 rider considering the jump to supersport

I’ve always had a thing for Honda CBRs. The inline-4 powerband, the high-rev scream, the undertail exhaust, the sleek fairings — they just do it for me.

My first CBR crush was the 2019 500R in black, and honestly that infatuation never went away.
Fast forward to now and I’m seriously eyeing a CBR600RR. I’ll admit, the tech junkie in me is a little salty that the US doesn’t get the updated model — but realistically, that probably won’t stop me.

Here’s my situation: I’m currently on a Kawasaki Z900, a naked bike, and I’ve never thrown a leg over a full supersport. I’ve only got a couple seasons under my belt, so I’m still relatively new to riding — though I came to motorcycles later in life (40s -only rode dirt bikes), which honestly works in my favor. I tend to ride with caution and restraint rather than ego.

So my question for you all: is jumping straight to a 600RR too much of a transition from a naked bike, or is it manageable for someone who takes it seriously? Would something like the CBR500R be a smarter entry point into the supersport world?
How would say a 4 hour ride feel on one?
How long have you owed your CBR and what are your likes/dislikes?

Appreciate any honest input from those who’ve made a similar switch.
