Rear fender way off(?)

Hey guys,

I just picked up my brand new Rebel 1100 and noticed something that’s bothering me a bit.

From the rear, it looks like the whole rear fender / tail section / license plate holder sits slightly more to the right side compared to the rear tire.
The wheel itself seems straight, but visually the fender and plate don’t look centered at all.

I attached some pictures below.

And it’s definitely not because of the strap, it was so before going up there.
Don’t mind reg plate, I will deff get less numbers and much smaller one😅

Would appreciate opinions from other Rebel owners 😅

How do i get the hot motor heat off my torso and arms?

As the title says. When I went out riding today, it’s 88 outside. But I couldn’t enjoy my ride because there was constant engine heat hitting my arms and my torso. Before it was even hot. It’s like sitting in a car with the heater on. This might actually be a deal breaker for me, because I cannot ride in heat now? Unless someone has come up with a deflector or something? I have the touring, surely this couldn’t be a fairing problem?
I’m 5’3” so…

Sound from caliper after new tires.

So I just got new tires for my '21 1100. There is a grinding sound coming from the brake caliper, and I can feel a vibration.

Everything is torqued to spec.

Please tell me this happens to everybody and it is an easy fix.

Engine strange behavior

Hi, I bought a new 2026 manual Rebel 1100 a month ago and I noticed a fairly large oscillation in the rpms since the purchase. It happens every time on idle and it doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold started.

The oscillations are about 500/minute 1000/1500 cold after a few seconds on and~ 700/1300 hot in traffic.

Last week I had my engine die in traffic in 2nd gear at 3000 rpm and the acceleration was engaged while I was moving. Another thing I experienced was starting the engine, it would run normally for 5 seconds and then die, and on the second start it wouldn't have the problem anymore.

In all cases the killswitch was not activated by mistake, I was in neutral and the clutch was not pulled or touched.

I went to the Honda dealership for service, they told me it could be a software update but later they told me that the clutch lever needed to be adjusted anyway the the problems still persist even with a small clutch adjustment

I'm curious if this is normal engine behavior and if you've experienced such events with your motorcycles before.

One Handed Rider—Very Satisfied

I’m seriously in love. Have an old school 82 CM450A Hondamatic and I’ve been paying attention to these new rebels. I’m thinking of a riser to help me reach, maybe some longer bars.

I don’t wanna get off this thing

My First day of Riding, and my first spill!

Warning: Long rambling noobie story.

After 2 weeks of loan office shenanigans, multiple 2 hour trips to the bike seller and eventually a uhaul trailer load/unload I am the proud owner of a 2025 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT. Im a brand new rider, never touched a bike in my life, and I made the choice to start on a 1100.

To be honest with you, my day today started with me putting my helmet on, taking it off, repeating this process out of procrastination to avoid facing my fear dozens of times. I've wanted a motorcycle, hell this EXACT motorcycle for over 6 years and I just couldn't do it. Eventually, after my significant other got home and I felt a lot more comfortable someone would be close by if I found myself in a pickle. I eventually pull my bike out of the garage, start it up and find myself doing laps around my apartment complex.

I was so terrified, but on the bike I found myself so focused and dialed in. I've never had so much fun in my life over the course of that hour. The freedom of movement I haven't had since a teenager out of fear related to vehicles as a whole. After about 40 minutes of practicing low speed turns, gentle accelerations, low speed rear brake control I got brave, a little too brave. My short loops around the apartment complex started to feel too small, too restrictive.

Against my better judgement, I found myself down the side roads near the complex, up and down this straight road I went eventually my normal 15 mph limit of the complex to turned to the posted 30-35 speed limit. I fell in love all over again so quickly, I found myself on a long clear straight road with no intersections. Morbid curiosity took over and eventually I pushed to 40-50 and just as quickly retreated to my comfortable speed, I'm no speed demon that much I figured out quickly. Each lap I went further down this street, using a parking lot to loop back around and then it happened. I dropped my brand new bike! Pulling up to the road from this parking lot, I tried to stop due to seeing traffic coming. I was stable, I stopped with my rear break fully and eventually put my foot down transitioning to front break when my mistake took me for a ride.

In my attempt to grab the front break fearing my DCT was somehow going to propel me forward (It wasn't going to) I rip the throttle open with a poor hand motion. Knowing there was incoming traffic and I was too slow to recover the rear break my foot failing to find it I make the judgment call to fall over to the side instead of speeding into the road, making a total fool of myself the throttle still being gripped trying to stabilize myself I spin the bike in place pivoting off the left foot peg mount totally dumping the bike and striking the ground with my knee. After leaving a story telling scrape across the ground with my bikes foot peg, I stand up eventually reassuring cars trying to stop and check on me I wave my hands that im okay with the biggest grin on my face spouting im new and im okay. I did it, the worst I could do at the moment I did it, I dropped my brand new bike. The bike is totally fine, and most importantly I didn't hurt anyone else or myself.

After the nice motorists check on me, and I lift my 550 Lb. back up by myself (terrified I wasn't going to be able to) I waddle my bike to a parking spot at the park I was pulling out of. Having to have a gentleman help me with my helmet straps due to my hands shaking too bad and unable to figure out what I was doing wrong. (I forgot to unfasten the strap clasp before trying to loosen it). I call my significant other, tell her the details, tell her I'm fine after a short break at the park bench collecting my nerves. I drive it back home, park, retreat to my apartment to inspect my leg and bandage my ego, my first day of riding had concluded.

The first ride, the first drop, my first scare moment. I loved every second of it, because I know I'm going to get better and learn from my mistakes. I'm so excited to finally have started this journey, even if I stick to parking lots/my apartment streets for another few weeks.

I cant wait to get on it tomorrow.

Edit: I did shortly after todays events schedule a MSF course. I realized today that all my online guides, simple tutorials, and "How to ride a bike in X easy steps" isnt going to cut it when actually on the bike.

In regards to why I started on a 1100, its entirely for the DCT. I have nerve damage due to a childhood injury so operating a clutch for any extended period of time is near impossible, the DCT is pretty much the main reason Im even able to take on this opportunity.

Edit 2: u/Electrical-tentacle put it best. "First hand examples like this help other new riders," Don't do what I did, learn from my mistakes.

Overheating?

2022 1100 DCT. Shows me the overheating dash warning at highway speeds (65 MPH), but it turns off as soon as I slow down.

It's odd that it's going away literally as soon as I slow down- don't even need to turn the engine off. Anyone run into anything like this in the past?

Fresh oil change and fluids are good.

Question about OEM hardware

Hey all, I have a 2023 manual 1100. I bought it used and it came with some aftermarket engine guards, which I appreciated. However, the other day I took a sharp turn and caught my engine guard on the pavement and almost low sided. I about shit my pants, but was able to save it. I want to take the guards off, but the bike didn't come with the original hardware. Could anyone point me to the OEM hardware I need? I know it's through bolts and spacers but I have no idea how to find the parts I'm looking for.

Honda rebel 1100T oem saddlebags

Selling the oem hard bags. All the hardware is included even brand new holders( 50715-MLA-A30 for the right) and (50725-MLA-A30 for left) they are necessary to install on a non Touring model bike. The bags themselves are not mint condition, they do have some scratches, some can certainly be buffed out. Like I said i no longer own the bike so right now they've been sitting in storage. Im in socal orange county. I have them at $650, let me know if anyone is interested.

Looing for Automatic Beginner Guides - YouTube

Im a brand new rider, I haven't taken the MSF course but I booked a class for next month. Im looking for any guides akin to the "How to Ride your motorcycle" but specifically for automatics. The video I posted did an AWESOME job explaining using the rear break as a stop gap for not having a clutch, requesting power from the throttle and feeling the bike bite and then releasing the break to start a forward movement. I know its simple and basic but that's exactly what im after.

I know the MSF course is going to teach me a lot of basics, but the DCT has its own challenges that just wont be taught in the course, any helpful videos would be awesome!

Is this…thread showing?

My bike has 300 miles on it. This is my front tire. Uhhh…this seems concerning?

Quick Question

I have an Africa Twin with the same engine as the Rebel. I love the looks and feel of the Rebel, except for one aspect. I am not a fan of forward controls.

Does anyone make a set of mid controls for the Rebel?

Prombles with shifting gears.

I have a 2023 rebel 1100. Bought it used with 6000 miles. It has a problem with going into 2nd gear. Sometimes when I’m fast with the shift or force it it seems to bounce down in to neutral. I will also very rarely but will have this problem with 3rd to 4th. I’ve tried different foot pegs burly mx pegs stock and Amazon foot bed pegs. I’ve also adjusted the shifter and the clutch lever. All this said I think I’ve got it in the best position where it happens the least (still hasn’t relived the issue). My question is this common with the 1100? I had the 500 and it was amazing no issues. Also if I hold my foot up after I let the clutch out it solves this problems. I just don’t have to do this on any other bike. If you have this issue and are you dealing with it or have you fixed it? Thanks in advance!

New Rebel owner/ New Rider

Hello fellas,
just bought my first bike — a Honda Rebel 1100 DCT Special Edition in matte black.
I’m also a completely new rider and just recently got my motorcycle license, so I’d really appreciate some advice from experienced riders.
What are the main things I should be careful with as a beginner on the Rebel 1100?
Any common beginner mistakes, safety tips, or things you wish someone told you earlier?
Also, I’m looking into side bags / saddlebags and rear bag holders.
Do all rear bag holders fit the same, or are there major differences between brands and mounting systems for the Rebel 1100?

Thanks!😄

Another one in the group

Buddy just picked up his '22 1100. Looks good next to my '24 1100T. Now I've got both sitting in my garage for a few days, good to know I can fit another bike in the future!

Pricing on used 2025 Rebel 1100 DCT

So I saw some 2026 in the show rooms here in Houston and after all the fees we’re looking at 14-15k out the door.

The sales man showed me another one that was 2025 with 522 miles with bags and the front shield and upgraded seat for $8949 so was wondering if it’s worth getting as a new rider? This is my first Bike. So the used one would be about $9500 out the door and they are willing to work on the price.

Thoughts?
