Venting about byb.

People are so selfish for purposely getting their cats pregnant just to “experience motherhood” ik this isn’t a cat ID post but I’m so angry. I’ve experienced so many cats overbred and sick from genetic issues or diseases passed along. Idk when you rescue, this really starts to pss you off. How do you even explain something like this to someone who doesn’t even care?? And how tf does this person not care?

i’d these babies?

my dads cat had her babies a few days ago, she’s an overweight “rescue”(rescue in quotations because he refused to get her fixed and prevent this, despite basically rescuing her because she was almoast dead and had to be nursed back for 2 months.) she is orange and white. her baby daddy is my dads male cow cat. (surprise, not neutered) he doesn’t want to fix his cats because they will be “less cat like” despite all of mine being fixed and CLEARLY not being any less cat, even saying my neutered male is “the best cat we have”. anyway, her babies looked a little cool so i was wondering if anyone could id their exact pattern names? (psa: we’re (me and my grandma) getting her fixed anyway despite what he says for her health so she doesn’t have to go through this again.)

Looking to ID accurate coat pattern/color classifications, not breed!

I have a litter of 4 lovely kittens that came from a stray mommacat, basically a kitten herself. Amazingly, all of my many cats throughout my life have been black, white, and grey. I’ve never had a cat with stripes or any tabby pattern before. I’d just like to know how you all would classify these kittens…they all have some sort of pattern on them…none of them are solid.

I know it’s difficult to tell from the photos, but the lightest color (aside from white) on 3 of the kittens is a very light creamy orange. The kitten with the spotted belly has feet that are almost a pink or pastel coral color. I’ll answer any questions that might help to clarify the photos.

These kittens are about 5 weeks old, mommacat is only 6 lbs. teeny tiny. I don’t have the weights of the kittens but I think this is irrelevant because I’m not asking for anyone to identify the breed, just the coat patterns and colors!

I’ll number the kittens, hopefully that’ll make this a bit easier.

Thank you!

Ragdoll cat?

We got fwankie from a ragdoll breeder, I thought he was but I can’t even post in the ragdoll Reddit community because the mods say he isn’t a true ragdoll…. So then WHAT IS HE THEN??

My phone says he’s a Turkish Angora and a ragdoll, but idk

We got Eddie a few months ago and my partner believes he might be Maine Coon. He’s got similar traits but we’re not sure. What could he be?

He’s 2 and a half years old if it helps, and he’s around 4-5kg

Speculations on my rescue cat’s breed mix?

I adopted this little guy from a shelter in Montenegro 🩶 Formally he’s just a domestic shorthair, but I can’t help seeing some oriental/Siamese-type features in him.

When I google European Shorthairs, even though they obviously come in many phenotypes, they often seem to have broader, slightly rounder faces. My cat’s face is very narrow and pointed, with relatively big ears, slightly almond-shaped eyes, and a very long, elegant, slim body. His fur is also extremely short, fine, and silky-soft.

I know most rescue cats, unlike dogs, are just mixes of everything to the point where it’s impossible to distinguish a particular breed, but I’m curious what you all think his look resembles most?

Kitten - Male or Female?

Hi! I have two kittens from the same litter (born Feb 27). One is a tuxedo male with very obvious male anatomy. The other is an all-black kitten — a vet told us this one is also male but the anatomy looks very different from the littermate, behavior is calmer/gentler, and I’m not convinced. Attaching the clearest photo I have. Can anyone help confirm the sex? Thank you! https://imgur.com/a/mxskm9Y

• Species: Cat
• Age: ~11 weeks (born Feb 27)
• Sex/Neuter status: Unknown — that’s what we’re trying to confirm
• Breed: Domestic shorthair (black)
• Body weight: 2.55 lbs
• History: Vet said male but anatomy looks very different from male littermate
• Clinical signs: N/A
• Duration: N/A
• General location: Seattle, WA

What colour is my kitten?

Hi everyone! This is Luna, she came to me about 2 weeks ago & shes about 7 months old. I rescued her from a pretty bad environment so ive been slowly getting to know her over the past couple weeks personality wise but also health & genetics wise. From my understanding shes a blue tortie? But ive been very confused because ive also seen her get called a blue smoke?? And i have noo clue what that means or if she even is that. Ive only ever owned your regular domestic tabby babies and shes the first cat ive gotten the pleasure of meeting of this kind. Ive also only ever seen black & orange torties in real life before as well as my family, so weve all been super fascinated by her colours.
Shes got such a beautiful personality & shes so playful and incredibly vocal, but she rarely meows. She chrips while she plays or stares at birds through the window and thats been very new to me too. My other cat does very quiet chirps at pidegons but shes LOUD loud. Youd think its my first time owning a Maine coon but I had one before her too and she was never like this as a kitten haha. Since shes a rescue, im eventually planning on doing a full genetics test on her because Im trying to be cautious (my previous maine coon passed suddenly with no warning at the age of 5) and see if there’s anything if I should take note of and to just see how pure of a maine coon she is really!

(please ignore my crusty ass carpet i promise i clean my apartment regularly)

Help my identify Urmi

Hi y’all, my sisters’ cat (female) seem to enjoy A LOT to sleep, and it has me worried bc she doesn’t do mostly anything else. She told me they went to the vet and dr said urmi was doing just fine.

Could you please help me identify its breed so i can get to know Urmi better. Thank you in advance.

ID my void, Panini!

I adopted my lil girl Panini in February and she is about 6mo now. We suspect she's just an American medium coat cat but wanted to know in case she looks to be something else!

Crazy man has to have Bangle in him...

This is my last rescue kitten and his coat screams "Bangle" somewhere to me! Check out the spots on his tummy and his golden swirls! He also could pass for a parrot 😹😹

Took in this guy about a year ago, showed up at my parents place in middle of nowhere. Very friendly

Think he's part Maine coon

Does he look like a traditional siamese or domestic shorthair? Found as a stray but trying to find owners

Hi all! I took in this boy almost a week ago. I was confident that he’s just lost and not a lifelong stray because of how affectionate and vocal he is (so affectionate that I woke up with him purring on my chest the morning after I brought him home), and have been trying to find his owners.

Someone commented on one of my posts saying that he looks like a purebred Siamese, so I did some digging and found that the breed is typically very vocal and affectionate. I’m very curious about it now, because I just assumed he was a domestic shorthair with Siamese coloring. His meow is a little bit lower pitched than my domestic longhair as well.

Any thoughts are appreciated!
