I am planning a full marathon next year around April/May and have just started training. I am lean and would consider myself fit.
I went to an Asics store to test for overpronation...turns out I do have overpronation.
Need recos from this sub on which shoes should I chose for my needs - Asics Gel Kayano 32/31 or Puma Forever Run Nitro 2. I like the energy return feature of the Puma shoes. I am not going to be very fast but aiming for a sub 5 hr timing. I know Kayano 33 are launching soon so will be trying those as well once available in stores.
And should I buy them now itself or halfway into my training, considering that the mileage will be limited and don't want to run the shoes before the main event. Current shoes are Adidas Ultrabounce which seems good for 5-10k runs as per online research.
Will go running tomorrow. And update with a review.
I ordered from ajio for 4566 but it's available on Amazon and Flipkart too for about 3500 ish. Ended up choosing ajio cuz 1) flipkart and amazon have fakes too 2) flipkart didn't deliver here at my location

Current Shoe > ASICS Gel Cumulus 26 Weekly Mileage > 35-40 kms Type of runs > Easy Long ( min - 7 kms) (max - 15/20kms) Area > Mumbai Mileage > 400 kms this year
I’ve been running consistently and building base for the past months. My goal is marathon and ultras. My Gel C 26 are almost worn out now. The soles are shaving off, there are heat burn marks due to asphalt impact etc. looking to purchase a new shoe, although ChatGPT is suggesting me to go for NB5. I’m looking to get a final confirmation before sealing the deal.

I bought the Adidas Adizero Evo SL before they became the hype shoe, and I’ve loved them ever since. I started running in them, and as of today they’re my main gym shoes.
Yesterday, a friend took me shopping and we walked into a store in Malad, Mumbai. They had a pair labeled as “UA quality” for around ₹4,000. Out of curiosity, I tried them on.
My first thought was, “These feel exactly like my pair. Could they actually be original and just being sold as fakes?”
That led to another thought: “What if my pair is fake too?”
To settle it, we went to the Adidas store and tried on an original pair. To my surprise, they felt almost identical to both my pair and the so-called UA pair.
Now I’m genuinely wondering:
I’m intentionally not mentioning the store name or exact location because I do not want to promote counterfeit products. Please don’t DM me asking for the details either. Wearing fake performance shoes can lead to serious injuries.
TL;DR: I own Evo SLs and love them. Tried a ₹4,000 “UA quality” pair in Malad, and they felt almost identical to mine. Then tried an original pair at the Adidas store, and that felt the same too. Are the fakes really that good, or are some originals being sold as “UA quality”?
Can't choose among them... Would love to hear suggestions on my sortings...

Hi i just bought Nike Winflo.
I am an amateur - mainly for sprints currently.
But my right shin hirts, almost like my foot does not sit well on the shoe bed.
Does it better better?

After returning NB1080 v14s due to lack of apt size.
I have kayano 31s and i feel my back needs a lil bit more of a cushioned runner.
So chose nimbus 27 in the end finally.
I am a medium distance runner ( 5 to 15km) living in Shimla City. I have been running since last 1 year. I have multiple 10ks and countless 5ks and did only twice of 25ks.
I have started my running from Adidas shoes, then I bought the Nike vomero 17, and on November 29, 2025 I bought Puma Nitro 3. I bought them from Puma showroom in Shimla itself, they costed me 16k.
I have Ran 60+km on them since then.
Reason for Purchasing:
Grip - I used to run on Adidas solarglide and they provided the best grip I've ever experienced, the continental rubber. Then I shifted to Nike vomero 17, and they feel so off. The terrain on which I run is very uneven from elevations upto 600mts in just 15k. Thereby Nike provided me with one the worst grips, they made me felt very under confident. When I worst tried Puma Nitro 3 in the showroom itself, I could feel the grip. It almost feels like it grips like a claw of carnivore bird. So grippy, it made sounds of clunks like it's gripping something. Gave me so confidence that I once ran on heavy rain, downhill, on stone pavements, in the hills itself. Extremely grippy.
Arch and midsole - Even though, the nitro 3 doesn't have the best energy return, ( the Nike vomero 17 have more noticeable return than Nitro 3) The arch is so aggressive, it makes your foot automatically go forward, like a rocking chair. Extremely stiff shoes, so when you run fast it provides extreme quality.
Upper - I have used adidas solarglide and Nike vomero 17 for almost 3 to 4 years, and both them have weird uppers. Very heavy for adidas, and Nike feels very artificial. Not good enough. Whereas Puma, it almost feels like they are transparent. Sometimes when I wear neon coloured socks, you can see my socks inside the shoe itself. They may give you a hesitation of being less durable, but trust me, I've ran these shoes on tarmac, rain, rocks, mud, everything. They hold themselves amazingly.
Cons,
Price - They cost a lot, like a lot. Even after sale they cost around 12-13k. Good for proper running, but costly assff.
Energy return - They don't have that bouncy energy return that Nike gives. They are very basic on that, very meh meh. They provide stability and arch, midsole is very stiff.
I would recommend these to someone who is looking for running at bad road conditions and need a tempo running shoe.
Beginner here guys please tell me if the fitting is fine or I need to get a bigger size. I have flat/overpronating feet.
Is the midfoot spilling too much? My toebox feels spacy no problems there. Enough space in front of the toes.
Also in the 2nd pic, feels a little stabby but only in one of my feet. Right side is fine...

Was concerned these would be fake but seems to pass the poizon check. The weight in my weighing scale shows 253gm but in official site its 239gm. Should I be concerned ?
5k is my budget, can’t stretch more. Pls help. I run 5k regularly and 10-15k occasionally. I am planning to run hm by next month, need good shoes.

Does anyone know where I can buy Asics Gel Kayano 31 from in Bangalore? I am not able to find it anywhere...the newer 32 series is out of my budget hence looking for the 31 series...I have called all the Asics stores in Bangalore (including the factory outlets) but none of them have this in stock.

I saw someone wearing adidas shoes but I could find those online, I found similar shoes if we remove few elements from attached image it looks exactly the same. [They shoe I saw having slightly more dark grey color]
I saw Red laces with grey color shoe with white sole, adidas logo was embossed not stiched like a label.
Adidas side strip was also looks embossed.
