Title: I have a massive crush on my college’s chemistry lab attendant and I have no idea what to do 😭
Okay, I need Reddit to humble me because I think I’m entering dangerous levels of delusion.
I’m a college student, turning 20 soon, and there’s this guy who works as a Chemistry Lab Attendant at my college. He’s around 23–24 and he is VERY, VERY handsome. Like unfortunately exactly my type. 😭
I have a SEC Chemistry class once a week for about two hours, and he’s usually sitting in one corner of the lab near all the chemicals/equipment. He doesn’t really move around much because our teachers handle the actual practical work, so there isn’t really a natural “excuse me, can you help me?” opportunity.
And I have literally spoken to him zero times.
BUT.
We’ve had quite a few moments of eye contact. A couple of times I’ve noticed him looking at me, and when I looked back, he immediately looked somewhere else. And I’ve definitely looked at him enough that I feel like he has probably realised that I notice him too.
So now we have this extremely stupid little eye-contact situation where I’m pretty sure we’re both aware of each other’s awareness. 😭
And the thing is, I don't just think he’s physically attractive. I’m ridiculously attracted to his whole presence/persona. Obviously I don’t actually know his personality yet because, again, WE HAVE NEVER SPOKEN. But something about the way he carries himself has me completely gone.
The butterflies are INSANE when he’s around. Like I’ll be sitting there trying to focus on Chemistry and suddenly my brain is just:
“THE PRETTY GUY IS IN THE CORNER.”
I only have 2–3 classes left for this subject, which is making me panic because I don’t want the semester to end without ever talking to him.
I also have no idea if he has a girlfriend. 😭
I absolutely do NOT want to make him uncomfortable or act desperate. He’s working there and I’m a student, so I’m very conscious of that. I also cannot just randomly walk up and say “hi” in the middle of the lab because there are people everywhere and he’s sitting in a corner surrounded by chemicals while our teacher is conducting the class. It would feel so painfully obvious.
What I actually want is just to talk to him, get to know him, and see if there’s something there.
I’m very much in my old-school romance / slow-burn / eye-contact-across-the-room era right now and I need Reddit to either give me a sane strategy or tell me to touch grass. 😭
TL;DR: I’m almost 20, have a huge crush on a 23–24 year old Chemistry Lab Attendant at my college who is ridiculously handsome and exactly my type. We’ve never spoken, but we’ve had repeated eye contact and I think he’s noticed that I notice him. 😭 I only have 2–3 Chemistry classes left, he mostly sits in one corner of the lab, and there’s rarely a natural reason to talk to him. I don’t want to make him uncomfortable or seem desperate. I just want to somehow have one normal conversation, find out his name, and see if there’s any mutual interest before the class ends
