So with the next generation of consoles going digital only is there any point of getting the new consoles or is the gabe cube(steam machine) just a better option going forward?

Xbox and playstation have so many issues with games being delisted and dead servers for older games im struggling to find a reason not to just keep my ps5 pro and xbox series X for my library and get the gabe cube in a few years ?

The place was full of people talking about the recent playstation news. It was really great to know that people here still care about physical games.

I'm a dad gamer. Been playing games since the 80s. My first console was the Atari 2600. I've been around the digital block. For me GTA was when games grew up. The earlier games, running over hari-krishnas etc, yeah, they started off being all about transgression and taking risks but as the franchise grew the writers grew with it, and as a young man into literature, particularly with San Andreas and then into later installments, I felt like here was finally a game that was saying interesting things about contemporary life. GTA 4 and 5 can be called derivative, because every character arc and plot point could be seen already having being done in some movie or book (they are best enjoyed as comic satire imo), but all of it, the scale, when you think of the amount of work, the amount of human effort to put it all together, it's like being able to walk around inside a novel the way you can step into in a cathedral. The depth and scope of that, of trying to capture everything about modern American life and say something about it, was for me what made it art. The little things. The empty feeling of a fast food outlet at four in the morning. The feeling of a sunset enjoyed in the wilderness. One of my favourite feelings in GTA 4 was traveling through the city in a taxi cab in the rain, looking out the window. I personally cannot wait to see where they've taken things this time. And yeah 80 seems like a lot, but it's a gigantic project. And I can't wait to experience it.

Where does one find a decent working CRT to play old retro consoles? Dublin area. Any help is appreciated

Hello, I have 1Gb/s Ultrafast Max sky fibre broadband. However the sky router I have is the standard sky hub. The broadband range is fine and I have no issues there but I find if I connect too many devices simultaneously via WiFi the speed drops and the connected devices drop or slow to a crawl.

Earlier I was watching tv via sky stream puck, my wife was watching videos on her phone and I was streaming my PS5 to my steam deck via Chiaki. Sky stream stopped working, my wife’s videos stopped loading and I lost connection to chiaki.

It seems to be a congestion issue more so than a range or speed problem. Would buying a better router likely solve this issue? Thanks.

I fell asleep last night picking out parts on Caseking. I woke up at 1am with my laptop on my lap and said fuck it I'll just buy the parts. Now I'm thinking I might cancel the order ... First time buying off Caseking so I'm not familiar with their order status and when they will accept cancellation, just wondering up to what point can I cancel before shipping? Status of the order is currently "in progress"

I’m currently an Eir user, and my god their internet sucks.

Had issues with them for years, and have changed the box to a fiber optic 1gb box. I also live right beside an Eir facility in D16, but I’m only limited to 46mb ?!? Internet is dirt slow still and coverage is terrible in my house.

Tempted to give starlink a go, as I don’t think Virgin Media is available in my area. Any advice would be great for recommendations on providers 🤝

EDIT: Router is connected to the wall across my house, so cant plug directly from my setup to the modem.

I’ve been going to the RAGE in dublin since 2017ish, great place and the staff were all really chill.

It’s 2026 now and i know they’ve had to move but some of the carry on there has been incredible. My girlfriend recently went there to buy me a gift a few months ago and though the rest of the staff are still lovely, my girlfriend felt continuously patronised by one member of staff and made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She bought what she needed to and came out swearing she’d never step foot in there again. Obviously, i’m refusing to do business with them again. It’s a shame because the rest of the staff are otherwise great lads, very kind hearted and enthusiastic.

What happened? They weren’t like this before covid and they used to do quality checks before shipping products out, in my experience i’ve received a decent amount of tattered goods, a few reviews and friends buying controllers have agreed with me.

Edit: i made who it was anonymous, as before this i had no personal problem and do not want to target someone who isn’t here. My gf complained as it happened as there were two guys in the store, i’m moreso just asking why things have gone awry while venting my own disappointments. This is a personal post about my own experience and i don’t want this to harm the business. A lot of the staff are sound and i really want to see them come up.

Hello, I’m new to PC building and looking for a local store in Dublin where I could find PC building parts like cases, case fans, cables, thermal paste, etc..

So far I’ve only been looking at online stores because I haven’t seen any such physical stores in Dublin myself, and just today thought of maybe asking the community here for their preferred/recommended spots to browse for parts.
