Is Angine de Poitrine krautrock?
So much about their music reminds me of Neu! and krautrock from the 70's.
Am I on to something?

Album of the Week - "Wunderbar" by Riechmann
Hi everyone! Welcome again to our weekly album discussion. Any album can really be featured, whether it be well-known, overlooked, or by a more contemporary artist - as long as it’s in the style and spirit of classic krautrock/kosmische Muzik.

Wunderbar
Release Year: 1978
Label: Sky
"Wunderbar is the sole solo album by German musician Wolfgang Riechmann, released in 1978. The music blends influences from the Berlin School of electronic music with the more rhythmic, pop-influenced sound of the Düsseldorf School, resulting in a warmer and less mechanic sound compared to artists like Kraftwerk. Its legacy is surrounded by tragedy, as Riechmann was stabbed to death by a drunk assailant shortly before the album's release. Prior to his solo work, his only other credit was as a member of the progressive rock band Streetmark, appearing on their 1977 album "Eileen" as a vocalist, synthesizer, and guitar player, and co-writing all of its tracks. After his death, the success of Wunderbar led Sky Records to reissue Eileen in 1979 under the name "Wolfgang Riechmann & Streetmark."
Special thanks to u/RogueOutlaw232 for providing the writeup. Sorry for the lack of an album last week!
For those who’ve heard the album - what are your thoughts? Feel free to share any opinions, experiences, etc. related to it.
Krautsocks: Can Ege Bamyasi Socks
These gave me a smile a few moments ago. I have no financial interest in these socks.
New Can live album to be released Sept. 25, “Live in Arles 1975”
uncut.co.ukSince the late 90s, a bootleg recording has been in circulation claiming to be the earliest live recording of Tangerine Dream, supposedly recorded in 1968. However, it is widely believed to be a forgery and the actual performing artist is unconfirmed.
To provide some background, an uncommon but not unheard of phenomenon in music bootlegging circles is distributing recordings under the false impression that they are authentic rarities or outtakes by a more popular artist. They are colloquially known as “outfakes,” a term that originated from the Beatles bootlegging scene during a time where this phenomenon was first documented. The most infamous example is probably “Peace Of Mind,” a track in circulation since the 70s that has been unidentified for decades, but is now speculated to have originated from a 1969 radio hoax for WUSF-FM, which was circulated without the knowledge of the original hosts.
Outside of Beatles bootlegs, fake or hoax outtakes have been circulated under the names of many famous bands, one of which being an entire album’s worth of supposed Tangerine Dream material.
It was originally released under the name "Rot Weiss" in 1999 by the bootleg label Keen Auricle, before being later reissued as "Essen 1968" in 2004 after being circulated through the Tangerine Tree fan network (with the addition of the legitimate "Oszillator Planet Concert" live recording). While by all accounts unofficial releases, Tangerine Tree’s releases were sanctioned by the band at the time that the project was active, although Keen Auricle’s were not.
The bootleg claims to be a recording of Tangerine Dream’s performance at the Internationalen Essener Songtage festival on 29 September 1968, which if true, would make it the earliest known recording of them in existence. Some live performance footage with audio from 1969 (e.g. the "Bath Tube Session") does exist, but the earliest authentic concert recordings (official or otherwise) date to 1971.
If you are familiar with early Tangerine Dream (e.g. Electronic Meditation), you would know that their music during that era is more akin to free-form psychedelic rock than the electronic/ambient music they became known for from the mid-1970s onwards. As a result, it becomes immediately obvious upon listening to the “Essen” bootleg that this is not Tangerine Dream in 1968 and more than likely not them at all. What you have here are two avant-garde ambient sound collages that has very little continuity with much of Tangerine Dream’s material from this time period, with the second half making heavy use of droning voices. It's eerie and frankly still pretty interesting as far as this sort of music is concerned, regardless of whether it's related to Tangerine Dream.
Interestingly, the liner notes of “Rot Weiss” claim that the audio originates from a “radio broadcast.” However, while some performances of the 1968 Songtage are known to have been filmed for the television documentary “Panoptikum Essener Songtage 1968”, no material from it is known to have been broadcast through radio, and no footage or audio of Tangerine Dream actually performing appear to have ever been recorded. However, some members were likely incidentally filmed setting up equipment, as pointed out by Alan Freeman of Ultima Thule Records.
In any case, the Essen 1968 bootleg is generally accepted as being a fraudulent recording or at the very least extremely sketchy, something that was acknowledged by Tangerine Tree themselves.
>Tangerine Tree Volume 59: Essen 1968 is a quite strange recording: the date of origin is not confirmed, it is even unsure whether it is really a Tangerine Dream performance! It seems to be an FM or soundboard recording, and the music is hard to describe -- no psychedelic rock music, but very dissonant, experimental sound collages. The second track is just voices, but it is very effective and interesting.
While I don’t believe the actual source of these sound collages has ever been definitively identified, given the likely origins from radio, if the original broadcast is documented or archived somewhere else, identifying the origins could be possible.
If anyone knows who the performing artist(s) might be or when this was actually recorded, feel free to fill me in!

ioanniskleftogiannis.bandcamp.comThe Timewind duo
I heard that Klaus Schulze and Michael Hoenig were meant to be a duo called Timewind, having had signed to Virgin Records. Timewind stopped existing soon after, but did they play any concerts and are there any recordings of them, if there were any?
