Wearer of crown

Wearer of crown

I look forward to the way he will have reclaimed his crown, an object that had previously harmed/delayed his rise to power.

Charlie Vickers teased that Sauron will wear a big crown, so I'm curious to see how often he will have it on, clinging to Morgoth's symbol of absolute tyranny.

Sauron and Forodwaith.

So I’m watching Rings of Power for the first time, and something is bugging me. For pretext, I’ve not read any of the source material, but I’ve seen the movies, so I’m casually familiar with some bits of lore.

There were a few references in Season 1 about how Sauron performed twisted experiments on the orcs at Forodwaith. The scene, however, at the beginning of Season 2, along with the time placement of the scene at the dawn of the second age, it is implied that Sauron and Co had just arrived at Forodwaith, as he was actively announcing his leadership role and being crowned before instantly being brained by Adar. So my question is, when was he supposed to have performed all of these experiments if he was killed as soon as they arrived? It was explicitly said in the first scene of season 1 that Forodwaith was where it happened, and confirmed by a captive Adar later in the season, so is Adar an unreliable narrator or is it just a contradictory plot point and an oversight from the writers?

Jamie Campbell Bower will play Celeborn and Glorfindel

Since it has been announced that JCB will play a high-born knight we all speculated about whether it was Celeborn or Glorfindel he'll be playing.

To be fair that description fits both Celeborn and Glorfindel. Both of them are royal family relatives and both of them are known to be soldiers.

Here's how Celeborn has been presented in the show :

- he's Galadriel's husband.

- he fought during the First Age wars.

- he died.

The third fact caused a huge backlash among fans because in the books Celeborn never died. So usually we tend to interpret it as 'Galadriel thinks he died but is wrong'

What if she's not wrong ? What if Celeborn really died ?

My theory is that Celeborn and Glorfindel might be merged as characters and that Celeborn will come back because he's been re-embodied after a short time due to his noble action in the First Age wars.

About The One Ring..

- What would you say, if there was a line in s2 that fans should remember heading into s3 what would it be?

-True creation requires sacrifice.

~ I'm kinda sure it's coming. 💍

Sauron with the One

What power(s) do you think they will endow Sauron with once he creates the One Ring? His quest was for 'power over flesh', correct? I wonder how they will choose to show this. I think they will need to show some change in his abilities sufficient to make his quest seem worthwhile. A related issue is - will he wait to distribute the Nine until after creating the One. You can assume that the Nine would be corrupting without the One, but perhaps the recipients wouldn't be that controllable without the One. Canon says that the foundations of Baradur were created with the power of the One and will endure while it lasts. Towers of the Teeth, Cirith Ungol, and Minas Ithil all built by the Numenorians - probably ToT & CU after battle of the Last Alliance. If he has the One in Numenor I suppose his powers of manipulation should be enhanced . Thoughts?

Amon Sul

I was listening to FotR audiobook the other day and this line by 'Strider' struck me as he is telling the hobbits about Weathertop (paraphrase from recollection): "it is broken now but one it was tall and fair, and it is said that Elendil watched from the tower for the coming of Gil Galad in the days of the Last Alliance" Perhaps someone can provide the exact quote. Do you suppose we will get to see such a scene in S5? Recall that Amon Sul housed one of the palantiri.

A S2E8 detail I noticed: Sauron kicks away Galadriels sword, but he doesnt actually care that she gets it back a moment later - he just wanted to make her crawl further for it. Its pure cruelty.

So, Sauron knows about second breakfast.

Jack Lowden, our first age Sauron, must’ve remembered something. I wonder how he came back after being defeated.

What happened after the big reveal in ep8 of season 1?

I'm new to the sub, so 👋 everyone . Just finished my second watch through and really looking forward to November.

Something has really been bothering me.

So, we know what happened to Galadriel after her big "oh shit, I really messed up" moment.

But what about Sauron? Did he run off and grab a horse, being as he's still pretending to be a man, and ride off to Mordor? Did he shape shift and magic himself there, somehow? Did he get there some other way?

Would love to hear your theories.
