My hometown in Ohio

Anyone who lives in Ohio or the Midwest has seen or lives in a town like this. A bunch of fast food and grocery stores and if you want an office job that’s not in a hospital, the commute is an hour because the closest big city is exactly an hour drive if not more. A lot of car stickers on the back of people’s car and a lot of them stickers don’t make any sense. The “downtown” area is just abandon buildings that they never updated with a bunch of not successful small businesses and dive bars. A lot of strange people who got pregnant at a young age

Show up at your City Council meetings

Good Morning everyone -

I wanted to hop on here and encourage you all to start attending your City Council meetings here in Lancaster. There is one tonight, 05/18/2026 at 6:30 pm located at 111 S Broad St. I highly encourage you all to attend these meetings as your local government is spending money frivolously, not listening to your will and also laughing at you while they do it.

For example, Cannabis was legalized by the majority of Lancaster in November of 2023 through a Statewide effort that passed (Issue 2). Right after legalization, City Council worked to put a moratorium in place to recriminalize Cannabis in the city and not allow dispensaries to operate in our town. The moratorium is in place until 2028 and the city intends on extending it.

When you explain to these individuals using scientific fact, they laugh at you and double down on their outdated stances. It’s time to show up in numbers and take our power back, showing the local government that they work for us, we don’t work for them. We pay their salaries through our taxes and they should listen to our will.

Additionally, with the moratorium in place - Lancaster will continue to suffer. The city is not able to get any tax money from the billions of dollars spent on Cannabis in our State due to the moratorium. The tax money can be used to improve city owned buildings, schools, roadways, housing, etc. There are also many vacant buildings in this town that can be turned into a viable Cannabis business which will further benefit the community both economically and through social health as Cannabis provides a Harm Reducing alternative to Alcohol and Opioids - both of which are a problem in our State, specifically this area.

Furthermore - the tax money from Cannabis can be used to house our homeless population as we can invest that into ensuring they have shelter, food and a community place to improve themselves at.

It’s time we start showing up and defending our rights while we still have them. It’s clear the City Government does not care about your Will or best interest.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight. 6:30 pm, 111 S Broad St.

Best barber in town?

We just moved to Lancaster a couple weeks ago. Are there any good barber shops or barbers you’d recommend? I have a barber in Athens I usually go to but it would be nice to have one close by.
