Madame Lenormand Magic & Fairy Tales

A former Lenormand student of mine, Jette Lilholm from Denmark, just published her first Lenormand deck with illustrations based on the famous poems of Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen called the Madame Lenormand Magic & Fairy Tales deck, illustrations by Danish artist Karin Serup Tavares.

As you can see, this deck is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of jewel tones and plenty of zany illustrations inspired by the poetic beauty of Denmark (shout-out to that Rider!). Each illustration is set in a sort of vignette-style frame, lending to the ease of recognition of each symbol during a reading.

The card stock is nice and firm while being equally supple, and it gets even more flexible with each shuffle. Some standout cards for me personally are 6. The Clouds (seen above), 8. The Coffin (seen above), 35. The Anchor (seen above), and 2. The Clover (seen above), among other, unpictured cards.

This deck is being sold on multiple foreign sites, one in Swedish currency and another in Danish currency, each at different prices when translated to USD, the links to which I am unable to attach due to this post being removed if I do. So, you will have to search it on your own.

What is the state of their relationship? Manipulation/abuse?

Im used to doing relationship readings but due to the context of why the question was asked, Im torn between certain interpretations that could be drawn due to the snake showing up. Idk if this is due to a personal bias because of the subject matter or intuition tbh because i read using a mixture of intuition along with traditional card meanings/techniques. Which is why Im sharing.

So story is:

A few days ago a friend ended up unfortunately seeing a man who committed date rape against her while at work. That in turn triggered a domino effect of her learning he was dating an incredibly young girl who the querent then ended up telling what he did to her. The girl didnt believe the querent (of course) even when shown proof of him having other (multiple) victims in the form of the other victims' own words.

My friend said she knows she did her part in letting the girl know that she is with a predator and that must be the only reason they crossed paths that day because she has never seen that man since the night he date raped her (they never knew eachother, he was a stranger to her at a party) but she's still concerned about the girls safety so she asked about their relationship now that she knows.

To keep my interpretation short:

I'll just say at first I thought the crossroads in the center showed a type of distance/mixed feelings between the man(snake) and girl(dog). I thought at first that he was gonna try to use emotional tactics (heart) to take advantage of the girls hopes (star) for their relationship/to be loved to try to cross that distance between them or the confusion the new information has placed between.

But usually i also take the snake as another woman and now idk if the cards are showing that the girl doesnt know what to believe but thinks the querent is trying to break them up out of jealousy.

Intuitively i just get this sense of her being like a puppy (keen to please, loyal, hopeful) and so desperate for love how a puppy is so... i feel like my read is all over the place and not helpful.

Does anyone think Im being too influenced by the details of the context/subject matter?

What does my coworker think about me?

for Context We work at the same company but don't interact much. A few days ago, I asked him for something and felt like I was kind of ignored (hes also my crush)

I interpret this as him seeing me as someone who has a certain presence, but it seems to make him feel uncomfortable or bothered. However, the Key is really throwing me off—I'm not sure how to read it in this context.

Asking if my dad can go back home, it looks VERY bad.

the bottom two cards are extra cards related to “incense burner“. it seems to me the only way he can go back is in a very horrible way. He is curently in Middle East and had trouble leaving. don’t tell me the only way he can leave is through this way 😭 please help me.

Question about Grand Tableau.

Can someone tell me how they would find coworkers in a grandtableau.I wanted to know if my company would find anyone to hire.Which cards might represent co workers.Thank you in advance.

Asked the cards about a friends current circumstance in her marriage

Crossroads, a choice, a path an alternate route…. Met with the cross… sacrifice sadness, loneliness…. The woman looks back at this journey…. Underlying with communication, expression, thought, devotion.. topped with the snake…. Sneaky, slithery, confusing, possibly poisonous…

Thoughts on what this reading could mean in regards to a friend’s marriage who is going through a tough time currently?

My love life for next month? Please help

Hello! I pulled my cards for this month for love and would like some help interpreting. I pulled anima (me), anchor, birds, scythe, and bouquet. I read them like a sentence. I’m a little confused about the anchor, but I thought it could go: woman has an established conversation or series of back and forths with someone (communication) until it gets cut off, leading to…..an offer? The scythe cuts what it comes after and affects the card after it. So….the anxiety or stressful communication gets cut quickly and leads to happiness or satisfaction? Or maybe the scythe cuts the bouquet away. What do you think? Good or bad

What can I expect for my job search in July?

Hi. I have a job but I have been constantly applying for new ones because I desperately need something better. I pulled five cards and read them in a progressive line with the outcome at the end.

I got: man, tower, ring, house, birds

The first part makes sense….a man from an established company makes an offer/proposes a contract….or commitment. But I struggle with the house card for career readings, and the birds usually mean communication that’s anxious or stressful.

So…a man from an established company proposes an interview, or contract, that feels stable, and the month ends with communication? Or are the birds a bad omen?

Thanks!

I asked what can I do to get a job soon.

I’m very new to Lenormand reading and I’ve been having a hard time with interpretation of even simple questions 🥲 three first cards were Scythe, Knight and Crossroads. I felt like drawing another card and it was the Snake. Bottom of the deck was Mountain.

I interpreted it that maybe I’m going to receive news very soon that are gonna end the cycle I’m living abruptly and I’ll be forced to make an important decision, and that decision is gonna land me on a job? Mountain makes me feel like it’s gonna be a tough process and asks me for patience. Not sure about Snake, tho. I’m very confused.

Love Spread

Hello, guys.

It's my first time posting, so please let me know if I break any rules.

I'm posting a love spread I've taken recently, and I'd love to have you guys' inputs. I'm still a beginner, so guidance is much needed and appreciated.

The significator is female, and the ring and heart are relatively close to her, but the man is distant, so that confuses me a little. I also read houses, so the key would be in the house of heart - I take that is a sign of a solution to love issues?

Also, please consider that the bear may be a person.

Could you guys give me your perspectives on this spread?

u/tatals — 4 days ago

I asked my new deck what the old one wants to tell me with the Key card

I think he sees me as too stuck and comfortable where I am, and believes I need to open myself up to something new and change my life. The Anchor might represent a stable, solid place, but the Ship indicates that I need a new direction and to head somewhere else; I just didn't quite understand the Man card.

Need help desperately

You reach a point where you are too emotional to decipher.

Is he going to dump me?

We’ve had a lot of financial stress, he broke his leg. We got into a discussion about an old app on his phone, it was a dating app. I thought things were okay but it’s been a little quiet on his end and I feel like he’s freezing me out. I’m so confused! All of my other spreads have shown he doesn’t want to break up. I’ve looked at this until I’m blue in the face. Any help would be appreciate, all I’ve done is cry.

I feel like he’s at a decision point about our relationship, he’s overwhelmed with life but he’s still staying, we will cut through the obstacle?

The Man knights the Scythe, which immediately caught my attention. My first thought was that maybe he's the one making a sudden or painful decision. But then I noticed the Scythe's blade is actually pointing into the Mountain, not toward the Woman. Does that change how you'd read it? Would you see it more as cutting through an obstacle than ending the relationship?A few other things I noticed:Heart is in the House of Ways, which feels like the relationship is at a crossroads.

Ring is in the House of Book, so I wondered if it means there are things that are still unknown or unresolved rather than the relationship being over.

Anchor is in the House of the Man, which seems like a stabilizing influence.

The Woman is right next to the Scythe, but Clover is in the House of the Woman. Does that soften the Scythe at all?
I'm getting mixed signals because there are a lot of relationship cards (Heart, Ring, Dog, Anchor), but also some heavy cards like Scythe, Coffin, Tower, and Cross.

Would you read this as him actually deciding to end the relationship, or as a major turning point/change without it necessarily meaning a breakup? I'm especially curious how people who use houses, knighting, and card direction would interpret it.

I am new to this - so I’m sure I’m wrong. I feel like he’s looking ahead at me and a positive transition of love and hope? Given the stork, heart and stars. I probably should have done a more simple spread. I desperately want to learn, not just because of my situation but I would love to be able to do spreads for others.

If I reconcile with her will she became envious & jealous again?

I stopped talking with this childhood friend bcuz she literally told me to my face that it annoys her that I don't have any problems in my life 😒

We are also neighbors and I can't avoid her forever. I wonder if things can get fixed.

The cards seem to say that it's a deeply rooted irritation towards my success or confidence.

Thank you for your help 🤗 💐

Help with a relationship grand tableau

https://preview.redd.it/hcqd6x4jmuah1.jpg?width=1726&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86d19b44482ca18d774683f0fe079fa876b06e96

Hey! A few months ago I did a grand tableau with the question: what will happen between me (woman) and man in the next 6 months?
I read based on the method of distance and am leaving my full interpretation on the bottom of the post but had a question about what does the ring above heart combined with stars mean here? I wasn't able to read around the man card objectively so would appreciate any insight!

Context: This is about a guy that I dated for a short while but the connection was very intense (at least on my end). He started ghosting me and going silent so I broke things off and never reached out again - neither did him. We still see each other because he works in a restaurant I go to every week with my sister.

Full interpretation:

Start (3-card line): The situation starts with constant news or interactions that aren’t clear to me or bring confusion.

Corners (the frame of the story): This is about friendly news and interactions that happen in public and are connected to feelings or desires (this is for me because it’s my Grand Tableau).

Center cards: There are choices or options regarding stability and hope, and there isn't clarity on this new situation. The paths to reach the goal are unknown, and the goal itself is crushing the possibility of something new or a new way to see this situation (Moon), which is causing conflict (Whip). The Book in this spot shows that something will be revealed within the time period of the spread that will lead to a new (Child) way of seeing things (Moon), and the interaction will become harmonious (Lily, Ring); however, that is beyond the period of the spread (outside the comfort zone).

Fate line: There is dishonesty or self-interest that needs to be removed, or that will cause a sudden loss. This will prompt a journey to move away or distance herself into solid boundaries, ultimately rising on top of this situation.

The Woman

My card falls on top of everything in a very strong position. My line of sight indicates that there is clarity about the situation—a challenging ending that puts up a wall between me and the man, meaning casual interactions now feel like a burden of friendship and loyalty. However, there is no clarity on the confusing news and interactions currently happening (Rider + Clouds). The fact that the woman fell right on top of the Grand Tableau shows that nothing is weighing her down; I will likely feel in control of the situation and will have a say in how things develop over the next six months.

The woman is on top of what is being communicated (letter), so she is currently influencing the communication, but it has been stressful and dwindling (mice). In the next six months, communication will probably diminish. The Snake and Ways touching the Letter with the Coffin on top show that the path will lead to an end in communication due to a feeling of betrayal, but it won’t be straightforward. The Book also reinforces the Coffin, indicating that this will diminish until it is gone with no clear resolution.

The Snake sits in the hidden issue position of the woman's box, showing that the feeling of betrayal is heavily influencing the woman’s decisions. The Clouds sitting on top of it, with the light side touching the woman, show that she recognizes this to some extent, but it keeps her confused about where things stand for the future. The Sun and Letter touching the Snake show that the bright interactions (Rider) being communicated are actually convoluted, and the Snake on top of the Bear indicates an ongoing power struggle.

The Mice in the near zone show that control over the communication (Bear, Key) may be recovered in the next six months if she stands her ground (Bear) amidst the malicious chatter (Snake, Birds) and learns that going in another direction is the better option (Ways, Clover), or takes a chance on trying a different approach.

The Sun is the only luminary near the woman, which indicates that new energy will come to her in abundance (Fish), and she will be able to handle the stress and loss (Knighting the woman, Mice).

The Love Cluster

Anchor: The Anchor below and in the comfort zone shows she will have a grip on the situation and hope for stability. However, a few negative cards indicate that there will be trouble regarding that. Coffin + Moon indicates that recognizing this end will be painful, and she will be constantly reminded of it through the pleasantries exchanged, meaning she won't see it as a gift (Book + Bouquet). This constellation shows the choice will be one of disagreements with the man, and lightness (Child + Mountain) will be blocked or challenged during the timeframe of the spread.

Ring: The Ring to the far right shows that the bond will persist for the duration of the spread, but because it is very far away, I will have no control over it.

Note: This is where I was stuck. Why did this fall in the comfort zone of the man?

Heart: Its distance from the woman shows that feelings will cool down due to the nature of the connection and her desire for harmony in her personal life. Knighting the Heart (Moon, Tower) means she sees this as a bureaucratic relationship or that her feelings will be viewed from a different perspective, but this won’t be influential during this timeframe (outside the comfort zone).

Where Is This Going?

Ship: It is moving toward a distance that will be draining (Tree) and a change in perspective toward an institutional relationship (Tower, Stork).

Stork: No significant changes will happen during the timeframe of the spread because the Stork is outside the comfort zone. However, there will be a move from stagnation toward seclusion, and feelings will be kept private.

Stars: The way forward here is to view this as a friendly or professional connection (Dog, Ring) instead of seeing the person as a burden to her peaceful routines (Cross, Man, Coffin). However, she won’t be able to achieve this during the timeframe of the spread.

The Man

The man connects to the woman through the Cross and Letter, which shows that communication feels like a heavy responsibility for both of them. The Cross is stabbing him in the head, showing that he thinks of the connection as a burden he must endure faithfully (Dog) while attempting to approach it in a friendly, pleasant manner (Bouquet, Dog).

The Lily sits below him, showing his lack of virtue. Mirroring the Cross, it shows that while he has some control over his harmony, he feels like this burden is crushing it. The Stars mirroring the Whip show he hopes things will move away from conflict, and he is putting effort into seeming pleasant (Bouquet + Moon) to turn this into a friendly connection (Dog, Ring).

Both the woman and the man share the Mountain, Anchor, and Child cards in the comfort zone. This means there is a mountain between them, crushing the grip they have over the situation and keeping things heavy. The Heart falling in his comfort zone below the Ring shows that he still has feelings toward the woman that he keeps private (see last question).

He knights to the Mountain and Child, which tells me that his immaturity or inexperience will make things challenging. Knighting below (Stork, Heart) means he will undergo a change of heart during this timeframe.

Back to the Fate Line

The advice is to be strategic (Key, Fox) and take a chance or make a dangerous gamble (Clover, Scythe) to move away from this stagnating situation (Tree, Ship) into a better, solid vantage point (Stork, Tower). The Tower knights to the Child and Lily, saying there will be a new, more harmonious way of looking at things.

Are my interpretations accurate? Need a little help

Just getting into Lenormand and was wondering if my interpretations were close to how others might read them.

So I did a spread for a forecast for the month of July and designated cards 1 and 2 as the beginning, 3 as the middle and 4 and 5 as the end of the month.

For cards one and two I got the sun and the lady, so I suppose that means that it'll be a pretty joyful beginning, and i might meet or interact with a woman who plays a significant part in the month. Or perhaps a joyful woman?

Card 3 is the letter so maybe I'll get a lot of writing done or ill hear news of some sort.

Card 4 and 5 are the coffin and trees and I feel like this is telling me there is going to be a loss or death in the family (I sincerely hope not).

Or if i make the cards into a sentence I got: "a cheerful woman brings news of death in the family."

Kind of hoping my interpretation IS off but wondering how others might read it.

App or physical cards!

I just posted an interpretation request/assistance

However I’m super new, I have both a deck and an app. Does anybody feel like your readings differ between what you are pulling physically vs on the app?

I find that my app readings are much more nuanced or at times “negative”

Whereas the physical pulls seems to be more positive on my situation or other questions I have? I only take flyers so I don’t think I am doing anything wrong but I am worried I am unintentionally influencing the pulls.

How would you read this 3 card combo?

Hi all! I’m doing a reading related to someone that has an addiction problem and ended in hospital. Would you read this combo (the rider + the cross + the coffin) as death coming soon? In any other scenario I would read as a phase coming to a end or something similar, but this interpretation does not fit this situation.

I’m pretty confident with my reading but would love to read other opinions as I do not have a fellow cartomancer to chat about it :)
