Essentials I’m missing?

Hey guys! New-ish line dancer here and just curious if there are any classics I should learn and add to my list. I want to know the popular ones even if my bar doesn’t do them.

Ignore the weird order I learned things in lol.
Also! Just did Slow Low for the first time with no mistakes!!! Needed to share that with people who know what i’m talking about lol!

Click for full picture! Thanks in advance!

Built a free app for line dance DJs and patrons — wanted to share

Hey everyone! I'm a line dance enthusiast and built an app called The LineUp to solve something I kept seeing at events — patrons not knowing how to request dances, and DJs juggling paper lists.

It lets patrons check in to a live DJ session and submit dance requests from their phone. DJs get a live queue sorted by popularity. There's also a library of 645+ line dances with instructional video links for newer dancers.

It's free on iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6762576071

Would love feedback from the community — especially if any DJs want to try it out!

Regular Dancing to “line dance” music.

There was this strange phenomenon recently. The DJ called for “Redneck Angel”, but played a song swap custom mix of Hip Hop Music. While the dance floor was full of line dances, the DJ’s selection also brought out a bunch non-line dances, just dancing like they were non-country night club.

Like half the floor was line dancers, and half the floor was “regular dancers”, where most of the time it is just line dancers. If there are regular dances, it is maybe one or two people, but this was like almost half the floor.

What songs and “line dances” have you seen bring out regular dancers to the floor en masse?

It was cool to see a super full dance floor, of line dancers and regular dances just dancing it out.

Help ID this dance

Hi, i went line dancing a couple of weeks ago, and they did this dance but I can't remember what the song was called.

At the end of each, there was some kind of kicking/jumping that might have been:

R kick forward, kick side, L kick forward, kick side, R heel forward, L heel forward and then there definitely was one of those leprechaun-style heel click jumps to face the next wall (and at least that part was quite fast).

Any help would be much appreciated cause it was so much fun and i would love to learn the dance for next time. thanks :)

What are the most popular line dances currently?

Hi everyone! I'm going line dancing Saturday, and I'm wondering which line dances I should practice beforehand? thanks!

edit: If this helps, I'll be visiting Maryland

What are the top 3+ "corrupted" line dances?

By corrupted, I don't mean anything negative. Rather, that the line dance has deviated from the original step sheet significantly, that the deviation is now the new normal? What is the deviation and what is the original step?

Check out the Top 10 for:

🌱 Absolute Beginner
⭐ Beginner
🚀 Improver
🔥 Intermediate
🏆 Advanced

For anyone who hasn’t come across BootStepper yet, it’s a line dancing platform I built to help dancers, instructors, choreographers, DJs, and event organisers find, organise, share, and use line dance information more easily.

It includes 160,000+ step sheets, choreographer and song info, demo/teach videos, collections, live event tools, song swaps, line dance radio, choreographer profiles, event discovery, AI step sheet uploads, custom step sheets, printable PDFs, and a growing charts hub for discovering what people are dancing, learning, teaching, requesting, and playlisting.

The new Customisable Top Dance Charts let you filter charts by things like difficulty, dance release year, choreographer country, popularity timeframe, and more — so instead of one generic leaderboard, you can find the dances that match exactly what you’re looking for.

So for this post, I’m spotlighting the most-playlisted dances by level. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for your next challenge, hopefully there’s something here for you to discover.
