First dance for wedding

Hello!

Please let me know if I should post this somewhere else.

My future husband and I are going to dance to "Well Alright" by Johnny Cash. We don't have much skill as far as dancing goes. Does anyone know any dances that go well with the song? Or that they think would go well?

Thank you in advance!

Obscure(?) tutorial for a dance

Yo, I'm working on an edit and I think Power Mix - Power would be a sick dance to learn and even take to a local venue of mine that does requests. I found a one minute demo on YouTube by Jessie Chan from a dance competition or something, but there's no full video or tutorial that I can find. Does anyone know of one or a similar swap that can go to this song?

So many dances, only 1 brain cell

I fell in love with line dancing and I really enjoy it! But I need to hear from the experienced folk, do you just eventually remember them all? I can barely remember more than one at at time.

I would love to go social dance instead of just classes, but alas, I have not have a great memory 😅😭🤦🏻‍♀️

Absolute Beginner Dance Suggestions

Hi! I’ve been to three line dancing classes in MA/NH and want to practice at home. What three dances do you suggest learning first? Any other advice for an ultra beginner?

Thanks!

Searching for the name of a dance

Heey guys, I recently started going to beginner line dance classes and we learned a dance to the new jlo “Everything’s fine (PM)” song. I can’t contact them to ask for the name. I searched for it and even AI can’t help me. I was hoping someone here might recognise the start of the dance - i don’t remember all of it - and could give me a name. Thanks in advance and sorry for the following bad description:

Step forward with right foot, fan with right foot, vine step right, same for left side, k step

That’s pretty much everything I remember. I know there was a rocking step and maybe a v step as well?

We have flair now!

Hi r/LineDancing folks,

Per a user suggestion, I have created some post flairs. They are optional for now, and are used to help identify particular kinds of post. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

The flairs I have created are:

  • Demo video - for videos of dances
  • New choreo - for sharing new dances, as videos or sheets
  • Where to dance - for asking about venues, e.g. if you're traveling somewhere
  • Dance ID - "what's the one that goes vine right, vine left"
  • Dancing gear - asking about boots, hats, belts, etc
  • Music - asking about song switches, suggestions, or discussing which genres are best for dancing to

I'm open to idea for other flairs if you think they'll be helpful, or to adjust these ones. I don't expect every post to perfectly fit a flair, but hopefully these will add some useful filters.

Keeping track of learned dances, learning new dances, keeping track of songs, dances you want to learn, line dance lists, step sheets, etc…

How do yiu keep track of it all?!

Are there linedances to harder music?

I enjoy linedance quite a lot, but I'm also a big fan of genres like punk rock, nu-metal, generally "softer" metal versions and techno music. Are there linedances for that kind of music?

And if so, are there "well known" ones for those genres as well? The stuff you could potentially find at a linedances party?

Any and all tips are welcome!
