Have you experienced withdrawal symptoms from lion’s mane extract?

I had been taking 500mg of 30:1 extract capsules per day for a year and felt no ill side effects. I was more awake and alert but nothing life changing. Then last winter the bottle ran out and I did not bother to immediately replenish. It slowly built up but after about two weeks I felt severe brain fog. I work in a creative field and no original thought would cross my mind anymore. My 3-dimensional imagination was like switched off. Anxiety and depression could be symptoms or my understandable reaction to the prior mentioned symptoms.

At the time I blamed it on a new laundry detergent that made me feel itchy and thought I am having an allergic to it. I switched the detergent and while I am at it bought some more lion’s mane capsules. I felt better quickly.

Now that bottle ran out and the symptoms are back. Brain fog, no creativity, a feeling of pressure on top of my head and now also random pain in my limbs.

I found people reporting similar symptoms but from taking lion’s mane, not from withdrawing it.

Now I wonder if I should just sit this through or if I should buy more capsules and then withdraw them much, much more gradually.

AI search is taking over - but it is bound to further increase the spread of misinformation

I was fact checking a claim I've seen in a product on Amazon ("black pepper for improved Lion's Mane absorption"). The question on Google was very simple: does black pepper enhance the absorption of lion's mane? AI answered with a solid yes: "Yes, black pepper (specifically its active compound, piperine) is frequently added to Lion's Mane supplements because it enhances the absorption and bioavailability of the mushroom's active compounds."

Then it went on to waffle about how and why etc. I noticed the links cited are from blogs, brands, and ironically Amazon listings.

I followed with a question: your references are blogs and amazon listings, is it scientifically proven that black pepper enhances the absorption of lion's mane, or just a trend?

Unsurprisingly, but still shockingly, the answer was:

No, it is not scientifically proven that black pepper enhances the absorption of Lion’s Mane. At this stage, combining the two is a marketing trend based on a scientific assumption rather than direct clinical evidence.

I confronted Gemini which admitted guilt! (the screenshot). But the moral of the story is, AI (maybe more so Gemini as appears to rely heavily on Google search, YouTube, etc; and that is worrying me. The spread of misinformation is now organic, and small lies are getting bigger and bigger ☹️

Best Lion’s Mane Supplement

For the last few years I’ve( 26M) been suffering from some pretty bad brain fog, fatigue, and what I believe to be cognitive decline.

I find myself not being able to think as quickly or as deeply as I used to. I’ve begin to become very confused quickly and quite forgetful. For example, the other day I was trying to boil water, ended up forgetting to turn the eye off a few times that day.

I’ve heard that Lion’s Mane supplements might be able to help with some of this. If you guys have any recommendations it would be a great deal of help.
