Today a group of us from a local Long Island social Discord are heading to Lavender by the Bay in Calverton.

The plan is simple:

💜 Wander the lavender fields
📸 Take lots of photos
🦋 Enjoy the butterflies and summer blooms
🛍️ Browse the farm shop
☕ Relax and enjoy one of the prettiest spots on Long Island

One thing we’ve learned from organizing these meetups is that they don’t have to be huge to be memorable.

Sometimes it’s just a handful of people enjoying a beautiful place together.

I was thinking about this because a group of us are doing the Stony Brook Village Audio Experience tonight.

It got me wondering:

What’s the most underrated place on Long Island?

Not necessarily the most famous.
Not necessarily the prettiest.

Just somewhere you think more people should visit.

Could be:

🌅 a harbor
🌲 a trail
☕ a coffee shop
📚 a bookstore
🏖️ a beach

I’m always looking for future meetup ideas and hidden gems.

A few of us from a local Long Island social Discord are heading to Old Westbury Gardens for the Nature Connects LEGO exhibit.

We’ll be checking out the exhibit, taking photos, wandering the gardens, and probably grabbing food afterward.
Most of our members joined because making friends as an adult is surprisingly difficult, so our events are intentionally low-pressure and beginner friendly.
