First drum kit. I've become tired of drum machines and electonic drum pads for looping. I'm no drummer by any stretch, but I think I'm going to be able to make this work🤣

Teardrop - massive attack

do you have ideas of what else can i do? I only loop the percussion because the chords are not the same all the time

Rc 505 editor

I picked up RC Studio Editor recently and I’ve actually been using it a lot more than I expected.

The thing I like most is that everything just feels more clear and visual compared to editing directly on the RC itself. Pedal assignments, routing and FX settings are way easier to understand.

It still being beta surprised me too because it already works pretty solid for me so far.

Also noticed they added a community/shared setups section now, which is a pretty cool idea honestly. Could be useful once more people start sharing setups there.

Feels like not that many people know about it yet.

Question about Boss rc 600 reliability on stage

Hello all,

Currently I have a live setup including a Boss rc 50. I use it in a return loop with a mix table, or I directly input my mix table in it with various instruments.

I have a lot of custom pre recorded phrases for my live sets and right now I can't fit all the audio from my different projects because of the limited memory of the rc50.

The rc 600 seems the only choice to have a lot of pre recorded loop plus the ability to navigate with 3+ phrases simultanely.

But I have read a lot of stories about crash and errors on the rc600. I need to rely on my looper on stage because I have no backup option. The rc50 is rock solid and never crashed on stage.

Are the crash problems been resolved for the rc600. Is it ok to use in various stage configuration ?

Thank for your answers !

Should I finally do it?

TL;DR - I wanna buy a loopstation but I'm having a crisis of confience.

I've been on the fence about getting my own loop for ages now, and things are lining up in terms of how much time I can make and arranging the dough, and I'm having a crisis of confidence.

I've always been a musician, and I found beatbox when GBB19 took over youtube in COVID. I've always said "I'm into beatbox" and never "I'm a beatboxer", despite having picked up the basics after years of following beatbox. Over the past year, I've become more and more sure I want to give it a go and buy a loop. Problem is, I cannot seem to find anywhere I could start the journey of learning. There's minimal beatbox culture in my country, loops here aren't even common they're imported, so they're expensive.

But I can't shake the itch. I've been trying to find good starter tutorials on youtube, but I feel like as someone with zero knowledge of electronic music and music production (I play acoustic instruments) I will have a hard time catching on. Plus the cost is enough for me to treat this as an investment, and it feels like pressure when it shouldn't.

Any advice from when any of you started out?

Also, if I do go ahead, any recommendations for the rest of the equip?

Current Wish List:

  1. Boss RC-505 mkii

  2. Behringer XM8500 Ultravoice (Cuz Brez said so)

  3. Cables

  4. Bose QC Headphones I have, should I get different ones?

  5. What small powered speaker is enough for bedroom and practice use?

  6. WHERE DO I GO LEARN. I am open to low cost paid courses, or even sessions with pros to get me started on the basics.

I'm sorry for the rant and long post, but frankly, I know this community gets it. I first installed reddit years ago to join this forum just to be around like-minded, similarly inclined folk.
Thanks for being that space.

Advice please! Total noob here

I finally got all the pedals synced to a single tap tempo via Midi for easy looping. The Boss SY-200 is the master right now. It's almost perfect, but....

Is there anyway to set up the DL4 as the master tempo tap instead?

I can't find the proper settings for it.

Right now the Midi order is:

Sy-200 > DL4 > RC-5 > Walrus Qi

Ableton live played through Boss RC600 help

I’m trying to work out how to get ableton live to play through my looper and record loops made with my midi keyboard and drum pad,

The set up I’m trying to achieve is guitar into pedalboard-stereo into my looper- stereo out to reverb and then amps, but have my laptop in the usb port(is that possible or do I need something else?) with my midi keyboard and drum pad with ableton plug ins being able to be record on the rc600 tracks then played through its own bass amp different to my stereo guitar amps

Though atm the goal is just getting the keyboard playing through my guitar amps still same set up but I can worry about routing output after getting sound played and recorded

ATM I have that all done and my ableton preferences for audio is

driver type: ASIO
Audio device:Universal Audio Volt

I did try having a normal guitar wire out my audio interface hp jack into the second input of my looper but that didn’t seem to work

Looper usb settings

Audio mode : vender
Routing: loop in

Hope that makes sense, pic of my set up, cheers

Affordable Live Looping Rig

Hi, I produce music on Logic Pro and am looking to make a live looping rig to play my songs.

I want to use a standalone drum machine alongside a looper for vocal layers and guitar layers.

Here’s what I’m thinking:
-Novation Circuit Rhythm/Tracks (can’t decide on which)
-Loopy Pro on my iPad to loop vocals and guitar
-Make loopy pro and the drum machine sync up

I was also looking into the akai mpc sample and I’m not sure if that would be a better option or not?

I do like to do vocal samples and mess with fx so I like that feature on the Circuit Rhythm (not sure if I could just do that on loopy pro)

A Looper app for Logic

After years looking for a decent looper app for Logic Pro I had to do it my self (well, with Claude help for coding part ) and it is actually works, and syncs, and almost beautiful. Best $76 spent on AI.
I tested it my M1 and Intel Macs with logic 11 and 12.

I'm keeping it free for the testing period.

https://github.com/checkp/looper-clause

the binaries are here: https://github.com/checkp/looper-clause/releases/tag/1.3.3

https://preview.redd.it/vmncwroarvzg1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=02d2b284ee1be35cc24e1d243c56daf92bba02cb

some copying files and shell magic required just a few steps (see README):

Audio Unit (.component) — Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, AUM

  1. Download and unzip LoopStation-1.3.3-AU.zip.
  2. Move LoopStation.component to your AU plugins folder:mv ~/Downloads/LoopStation.component ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ (Or system-wide: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ — requires admin password.)
  3. Remove the macOS quarantine flag (required because the plugin isn't notarized):xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/LoopStation.component
