Quick Question: Is Patterning 3 a good citizen inside Loopy Pro?

Apologies that this isn't a vibecoded app or an AI-written post. Mods, feel free to remove this if I'm violating rules.

I'm finally getting my head around Loopy Pro. I'm pretty excited about it, and even pulled an ancient APC out of the garage to control it. It's great. APC has a column of buttons to launch scenes, which is setting me up to launch a bunch of loops at once. Awesome. Now I can have verse/chorus/bridge with one button press for each transition.

I want to use Patterning 3 as my drum computer, but it seems to be a little bit uncooperative to use inside Loopy. I've been experimenting with "play after" macros sending MIDI signals to change the scene, but that comes with some weird issues. There doesn't seem like a good way to say "Play P3 pattern A with Loopy Play Group A, and B with B".

Exporting or recording from Patterning into a proper loop would functionally work, but I'd lose all the fun stuff happening inside a live Patterning playback.

Am I missing something obvious?

Yamaha PSS-50 live looping

I’ve picked up this Yamaha PSS-50 not so long ago. It was in mint condition and plays fantastic. People say it’s a toy keyboard, but for me it’s nowhere near as cheap-feeling as the tiny Casios I have. Anyway - here is a jam with this beast where I’ve used 3 different voices. (Also that USB to DC power step up unit is fantastic! Works amazingly with any 9/12V units - I’ve bought it on Aliexpress)

What are people using to midi up their entire set up?

Whether I’m using the iPad or MPC or even computer to sequence, I’m always running up against the reality of not having enough midi ports to connect to multiple synths. What is the general solution to get like three or four or more synths all being controlled by one sequencer?

Also, some of my synthesizers are keyboards where I’d like to be able to play into the sequencer and have the midi route back into the same keyboard with local off. (as opposed to one master keyboard controlling every synth) so I need to be running multiple midi input into the sequencer as well as output

Whatever the solution is, I’m looking for it. I’d like to be able to hook up USB keyboards along with the traditional midi din and would prefer one box that does this rather than a whole ton of them. Any of you guys have an all-in-one solution? And if not, whatever the solution is, I’d like to hear thanks!

Edit: i would like to keep the price (of an all in one box) under 300, preferably under 250. Need more money for synths!

irio pro is now available!!!

irio pro is in the app store!!!

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6791682190

hej there,

I’m proud to report that irio pro v1.0.0 is online now!!!

What I began some years ago as a nerdy project for myself, has turned into much more over time. I used to build and design my own schematics and pcbs for analog pedals and rig solutions under my brand „nørholm“, and what started as a multiple convolution IR loader for my FX setup has evolved into a much deeper project over time – even starting to replace some of my analog gear in my setup.

irio pro is a modular effects canvas for iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac.

You place modules on a canvas and patch them together with cables, with no fixed order, as many as you like, as long as your cpu can handle it there are no real limits for crazy setups — split the signal, run two, three, five, six modules side by side, feed the left side of a reverb into a delay, the right side to a different output on you interface… or three... Run a vocal chain in parallel... It runs on its own or as an AUv3 plugin inside your DAW or inside apps - like Loopy Pro.

have a look -> https://iriopro.com

In the final stages a lot of people were on the apple TestFlight with me, and the feedback was genuinely great. You found things I never would have caught on my own, suggested great ideas, and the app has evolved a lot because of you. Thank you so much for all your help!!! I really appreciate it :)

I will keep working on irio – the project started out as an idea of something I would have always liked to have for myself – now it’s starting to replace a lot of my other gear… and others seem to like it too, so I will continue to improve on that idea. There is some cool new stuff already in the pipeline.

Check it out if you like – and I’m happy to answer questions and receive feedback :)

Hello! Try out our NAM app!

Look, we know, it’s the n-th app you’ve seen that integrates NAM A2. But hey, maybe this flavour is for you!

Quick introduction: Me and my buddy are university students (physics and IT engineering), and we made an app for iOS named Gateway Pro (original huh?) that satisfies our needs, considering the limited time we have to practice.

Features: It’s an fx suite with a few unique features such as up to 4 parallel signal paths with optional Linkwitz-Riley crossover (splits your signal into frequency bands), audio unit loader for importing your own AUv fx, MIDI functionality and other stuff, but what’s cool about it is the live mode, comprised of metronome, a handy scene view, a playlist mode and a setlist mode. The point of these is to load your backing tracks into playlists or setlists, the difference being that playlists just play the backing tracks in order without changing presets or scenes, whereas the setlist mode does. The point of this is efficient practice, having specific playlists with various workouts and/or repertoires.

Most important of all: the tone curve. Reacts to your playing, completely useless, looks rad, can be deactivated.

We’re offering a 48h free trial without having to enter any card info, and we’re looking for feedback, so the first 15 people who pm me with opinions, possible improvements and critiques gets a key to unlo the app for free (lifetime, we don’t do subscriptions). Thank you all for reading and we hope the app is something you’ll enjoy!

EDIT: as someone pointed out, our the app’s name is misleading. We will be changing it shortly, and apologise for the mistake. I also want to thank everyone for their valuable feedback, as it is helping us fill the potholes we missed during development.

EDIT 2: following the suggestions of our users, we have rolled out an update tackling several concerns users had with the app.

- name changed to AmpGate pro in order to avoid confusion

- UI optimised for vertical viewing

- added sync to the modulation

- plugins in the auv3 loader are now sorted by developer

- general ui and ux improvements, especially on smaller screens

- improved input and output meter ballistics and readability

- fixed a bug that caused menus to display incorrectly on smaller screens

- improved ui’s smoothness on some devices and fixed issues that caused some au plugins to not be displayed correctly

- fixed various graphical bugs

-other stuff I’m probably forgetting

Completely free NAM loader for iOS, out now!

Hello everyone! We are the devs of AmpGate Pro, and we’re happy to introduce you to AmpGate. As AmpGate Pro’s little cousin, it doesn’t come with any of its bells and whistles. It’s a simple instance of NAM capable of running A2 models with a ui we find intuitive (and fun to look at) and a nice integrated browser.

Comes in both standalone and auv3 format

jamstation – analog sky (live cut) 📺

Through static and missing frames, we drift into the night sky. A synthwave bass, layers of atmos, and our only witnesses – birds and cats. No rain is expected
