Accompanying Improv Theater Show
Hi all. I've been asked to perform backing music for an Improv Theater show as a solo violinist. My role will be to add short 5 second musical motifs during the transitions between scenes to heighten the themes of the improvised scenes. I also can add short little ornamentation during the scene. For example if someone reveals some secret to the other players, I could play a dramatic 1 or 2 note thing to accentuate that. I have some basic ideas from watching movies and tv but i'd love to hear more suggestions. It becomes also more challenging as I am not a chorded instrument so I can only play at most 2 notes at a time. So my only option is melodies that imply chords, or partial implied chords. Let me know what you think.
Suggestions/References for accompanying an Improv Theater show.

Disclaimer: Kryptonite Does Not Let you order locks keyed the same as your old lock.
Kinda dissapointed with Kryptonites rekeying policy. From reading online it seemed to me that you could call them up with your old ulock serial number and order a new lock with the same key. They told me the only option was to buy two brand new locks with the same key. Kinda disspointing customer service. I know they can totally replicate my current lock which was not cheap btw (Nice newyork ulock). So now i guess i just have to continue growing my giant keychain contraption.
How to repair concrete steps and driveway
Concrete driveway is missing a large patch where grass has taking over. Steps are starting to disintegrate and plants were growing through. Looking for an acceptable but not pristine looking repair thats diy friendly.
What brand and size brace should I look for with these large augers.
Got a great deal on some augers and a bit brace but the larger augers seem to be too big to fit. The augers. 15/16 clark tool. 16/16 a ives. 20/16 greenlee. Brace is a miller falls with about a 8-9 inch sweep
New First time homeowner who's never kept a plant alive in their life. Help!
Looking for advice on how to tame my front lawn. (Disclaimer, I know nothing about plants so assume I'm completely incompetent). I am a very busy person and I live alone so I'm really looking for some kind of easy but affordable watering system for the places highlighted. I live in Seattle so nature does a lot of the work for me :). But summer months can be a bit hot and dry.
From Google "
Seattle falls into USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 9a. In global climate classifications, it features a Mediterranean climate (Köppen type Csb) defined by cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers, while its building and energy code designation is Climate Zone 4C (Marine)"
I don't need anything fancy. Would a hose with holes cut in it work? Just weasle that around everywhere and turn it on for a few minutes? Also you can't see from this photo but almost immediately after buying the property, grass and weeds started coming through the black mulch almost immediately. Maybe they didn't do a good job to kill the plant life below mulch? how do i keep grass and weeds from growing in the mulch?
Thank you and please don't bash me too hard in the comments 🙏
Do these rotors need to be replaced or just pads are fine
Replacing original brake pads from 2020 Subaru Crosstrek. How do these rotors look? Do they need to be replaced as well? Side note. Why won't any mechanic replace just pads? They all want to replace rotors too.
Did Les Schwab scam me?
Subaru Crosstrek 2020.
I'm almost certain I've been scammed but want a confirmation before I complain to the Better Business Bureau. I went to Les Schwab a couple months ago to have tires replaced and they told me my brake pads were almost completely used up and wanted me to pay $850 dollars to replace them. They showed me some paper thin diagram and said this was the thickness of my pads. My friend who works on cars helped me replace the front pads. When we took the old pads off they looked totally fine. I measured they have about 5/16 inches of pad left on them. Do you see anything wrong with these pads or should I write a complaint?
Recommend a standard plug to replace proprietary aventon
My aventon female power plug is damaged and needs to be replaced. Anyone have a recommendation for a non proprietary plug that could fit replace it? Needs to have 3 pins and fit inside a 3/8 inch diameter hole.
Will I regret buying an endurance bike instead of a gravel bike?
Hi y'all. I'm trying to get back into cycling again and I'm unsure what bike I should get. I tried out two bikes at Greg's cycles on Friday. The newest aluminum Specialized diverge and trek domane. I just did a lap around greenlake and the trek felt so much better than the diverge. Super fast and good control but also most importantly very comfortable. I feel like I really like the Shimano 105 levers. I had them on my 2013 trek and they just feel super good. The cues feel uncomfortable in my hands. My only concern is that the domane only fits up to 38mm tires. Am I gonna wish I had got a frame that accommodates larger tires? For example I saw this ride on everyday rides. I didn't go but it has some mixed terrain that I'm not sure an endurance bike could handle. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55682051. I'm hoping that this will be the one bike that I use for now. It's a big purchase and I'm not trying to go buy 4 different bikes. It'll be my commuter and weekend rider. I don't know what kinda biking I might get into so don't want to make the wrong decision. But I think mostly road will be my preference
Anyone know of bikeswaps happening?
Wish there were more of them. I'd love to see if I could swap out parts here and there and try to build something cool.
Are mechanical Disc Brakes Harder than rim brakes and is that why i have forearm pain.
I recently got back into road cycling and have noticed significant wrist after upgrading to a newer bike. I was riding on a 2013 Trek Madone with rim brakes and then i upgraded to a REI Coop Adv 2.1 with mechanical disc brakes. The bike feels fine on my 6 mile commute. But the 2 times I've done longer 20-30 mile rides I had wrist and forearm discomfort from braking with my hands on the hoods. I thought maybe it was a fit issue so i put my high rise stem from my original bike on the REI bike, but i still had the same wrist and forearm pain. I thought that disc brakes require less hand force than rim brakes but it seems maybe that's note the case? I'll also note that I have very small hands for my size. They're long enough to reach the levers in the drops but barely long enough to get both my index and middle finger over the levers when I'm on the hoods. I can kind of roll my wrist to get the ring finger but the position seems unnatural. I'm thinking about returning the bike and getting something with hydraulics or maybe just sticking with my rim brake bike.

Restoring 1950s Schwinn. Do I have to strip entire frame?
Totally new to bike restoration. I'm wondering how hard would it be to touch up the paint job on this bike. It doesn't need to look brand new. But wondering if it's possible to simply touch up without completely stripping bike. If so what tools and paint do I need?
