How much are used G42s really selling for?

I'm curious if anyone here recently bought or sold a used G42 and has any gauge on what they're actually selling for.

I have a lightly modified 2023 with <30k miles that I'm considering parting ways with. Looking through Autotrader etc. I can see them listed around $50k but most of these cars seem to have been sitting there for a long time. So what price point are these actually moving at used?

EDIT: Just for full details...
- Fully optioned with the Performance and Cooling package (still have the Pilot Sport 4S tires in my garage with a season's worth of driving left that I'd probably swap on for the new owner).
- Modifications: Milltek exhaust, Active Autowerks downpipe, MST Cold Air Intake, and lowered on Eibach springs. Front half PPF wrapped and windows tinted.

Question for european G42 owners

I've been eyeing a G42 for a while, both the pre-facelift and post facelift).

But one thing I'm very interested to know is how annoying the safety systems are. Especially the speed limit warning.

So I have essentially two questions:

Is it possible to permanently disable this "feature"?

Ive heard that if you link your profile with BMW-ID or something, it is possible to permanently disable it.

How do you disable the feature?

I think it's something holding the set button on the steeringwheel disables it, is it true that it's this simple to disable?

Would love to know your exeperiences with it, and what model year you have so I know if both pre and post facelift is bearable.

Obviously not advocating speeding, but yeah sometimes I go a singular digit over the speedlimit for a split second and my brain cannot handle the bongs. Or it misunderstanding a sign and bongs at you until it gets the next one.

Does a front camber plate/control arm bushings noticeably help with understeer in the F22 chassis?

Been getting more comfortable/experienced in my 2015 m235i and the understeer is really starting to limit me in auto cross and spirited street driving. I’ve seen a few write ups saying a big part of it is the front camber and control arm bushings. However, most of the write ups I’ve found have been from parts suppliers so I’m looking for some feedback from end users. Have you done these mods and if so did they noticeably improve the understeer and general handling? I’m coming from an e46 so a little extra road noise isn’t really an issue for me.

M Series Brake Calipers on 2023 430i with M Package

I have 2023 430i that came with the MSport package but, is not a M series.

I wanted to upgrade the brake calipers (front and back) to the M series red ones. Since mine came with the M series wheels, I *think* this should be doable. Am I right? What all am I going to need to do to swap these out? I know I'll need pads and the have it programmed for these but, what else is gonna be required?

What wheel setup would you choose for your BMW? 👀

Thinking about giving my BMW a proper wheel upgrade. 👀

I’ve been looking at different 17–24" setups, and honestly, the right wheel design can completely change the look of the car.

I’m leaning toward a clean, aggressive style rather than something too flashy.

BMW owners — what wheel size and style are you running?

Would love to see your setups. 🔥

M240 M Performance Exhaust

Anyone here have an F22/23 M240 with the M Performance Exhaust? Interested to hear thoughts, both positive and negative if possible. I’m exploring systems and I like the idea of an ‘OEM’ option for resale later on but would appreciate actual owners opinions on this as a choice.

Anyone have experience with the GR86, F87 M2 and Golf R

I’m wondering how those compare to the F22 M240i.

This would be my first coupe and first really sporty car. I’m wondering if the GR86 is a little too impractical - it seemed tiny on the short test drive I had and everyone seems to say the F87 M2 is a little too harsh.

The M240i seems to have an option for Adaptive Suspension but they seem to be so rare. It’s also been nearly impossible to find a good M240i.

The car I’m looking for is one that’ll make me smile when I drive it, be comfortable on long drives, be somewhat practical as my only car (go skiing or hiking with it), let me do a couple of track days in a year and also be reliable. (I know the B58 seems to be more reliable than the N55 but the N55 is fairly decent too).

On paper the Golf R seems to be the most sensible but I’m also afraid it might be a little too…not special? Not engaging enough and then I might as well step down to the GTI which can be had new for close to 35k too.

I see some GR86, M2 and M240i all around 35k but the Golf Rs seem to be closer to 40-42k.

Can someone share their experiences with these cars and help me decide?

My new M240i arriving in 2 weeks

After more than 2 years of saving up, my brand new M240i will be arriving in 2 weeks. My dream spec - skyscraper grey, 792 M Bicolour wheels, black M sports seats with blue stitching, brushed aluminium trim, Adaptive M suspension, M Sports brakes in red. It still feels so surreal.

For all the LCI lovers out there! Not gonna lie install was a bitch and I broke 2 clips on my carbon fibre trim but doesn’t seem to be rattling or moving so I’m happy with the look

Carbon Dash Upgrade

Anyone upgrade to a carbon dash with an aftermarket kit like the one shown? I’m tempted for my M240, but I haven’t seen any good installation videos online for the 2025+ models. I’d appreciate a link and feedback for anyone who has already done this.

2023 230i vs 2023 m240i

Been cross-shopping these two 2023s and could use some outside perspective:

230i xDrive M Sport— 35,000 km, $42,000 CAD M240i xDrive — 65,000 km, $49,950 CAD

My budget is really $42-43k, but I’d stretch a bit more if it’s genuinely worth it. The M240i has almost double the kilometers and is roughly $8k over budget, but it’s obviously the more special car (way more power).

For those who’ve owned either, is the extra power/character of the M240i worth the mileage and price jump, or would I be happier just staying in budget with the 230i and enjoying lower km/warranty runway? Also curious how B58 engines in the M240i tend to hold up past 60-65k km.

Would appreciate any real ownership experience over spec-sheet comparisons.

F22 M240i - How many miles and what issues have you had?

It's the best car i've ever owned. But its normal for some of the components to wear out and need replacing (especially OFH, valve cover/PCV, auxilary water pump).

Just wondering how many miles everyone's at and if you have experienced those issues yet or what other ones you've experienced? Also interested if you are on a Tune.
