Picked up my brand new 2026’ BMW M240i xDrive on September 4th! I got it from BMW of Shrewsbury in MA and what I can say is this is my first ever bmw purchase, and with being a bmw owner now I have to say that this car is a blast to drive! Go for it if you’re uncertain about buying one! I was debating between a used 23’ m3 comp versus this but for a daily currently I’m happy I went with this for sure!! I love it!! It’s so fun to put into sport mode and have some fun and also put it into eco for trips or with passengers to be comfortable and if I want to be quiet/respectful lol. I’m going to be getting my 1/3 first oil change for free soon so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how it goes after break in! I’m at like 1k miles already as I just have been driving it bc I can’t stop I love it 😆🥺💜 I also highly recommend anyone in the MA area to go to BMW of Shrewsbury, Mohammed who directly sold me the car went above and beyond!! Highly recommend him and that dealership, as I am now living my dream come true!!! I’ve always want this car and to be able to make it happen seems surreal! It’s definitely great on gas too I’ve been putting in only 93 from the start and I’ve been getting about 24.5 combined highway/city because I don’t have to drive highways for work luckily I’m a 10min or less commute to work! If you’re on the fence about one and can afford it!! DO yourself a favor and GET ONE!! I’m definitely impressed as a first time bmw owner and in love with it! Excited for the many more miles to smiles to come 😆 If anyone else is in MA near Shrewsbury/Central MA and wants to cruise hmu!! I’m near Uxbridge 😁

Posted yesterday my new M240i. Here’s another picture. Anyway, on the drive home I’m following my wife in her GLC and thinking she’s gone crazy as I’m going 90 trying to keep up. I call and she says cruise control is at 81. We go back and forth and it seems the BMW is consistently 5-7 mph slow. So I text the dealership and this is the message I got back:

Hi Jason, glad you made it home safe! I asked service about your speedometer and learned that BMW speedometers are intentionally set to read roughly 3-8% higher than your actual speed to guarantee strict compliance with international legal safety margins. Because of that, a displayed speed of about 84-85 mph may equal a true GPS speed of around 80 mph. This only affects the speed shown on the dashboard and does not change the accuracy of the odometer.

Am I being bamboozled or is this a thing?

Ever since this car first released I’ve wanted one and god dam this shit didnt disappoint. I’ve driven my pops m8 comp and it shits on the m240 but the m240 has the perfect amount of power for me. Kicks so nice compared to my old 24 IS350. All season tires had me doing a rolling burnout from a dig. Such a great platform can’t wait for the canyons. Gotta get used to the power tho

As the title reads, proud new owner of a ‘20 M240i convertible manual trans! Going to be a very enjoyable new edition for me and my boys.

I have a 2019 M240i with 95k miles. I bought this car a month ago. Today in the morning I got a message saying increased battery drain while stopped. It also says vehicle battery charge low. I checked codes in bimmerlink and also checked the state of charge and it's at 16% right now. I checked the state of charge 2 days ago it was at 78% everything was all fine until this morning. I also checked the voltage today while idling it was around 14.3v then it went to 15.3 then back down. The battery is only 1 year old. Could it be a bad alternator?

I guess it's around 23.5 mpg for the folks in the states, but is everyone driving in eco pro or something?

About to go pick up this beast. Getting excited! Bonus I get to drive it home through several passes on I-15 from Idaho Falls to Helena.

So currently what Im running is ET35 8.5x18 front and ET40 8.5x18 rear. Im not sure how the fitment would change if I decided to do coilovers, what im most worried about would be rubbing.

Shocks are currently going so I have to replace my suspension regardless and im thinking of getting rid of my electronic damping for some passive dampers.

Any opinions??
