Has anyone else had apple car play lose connection randomly. Every once in a while I will lose the car play connection. I deleted/reconnected Macan from my phone and rebooted the pcc. No changes. Any tips or tricks?
Looking at a couple of options for the EV model, 2024 MY. Searching nationwide but for the available cars I see, they are priced 6-8k over Edmunds/KBB dealer expected price for excellent condition.
What has been your experience with final purchase price? Is Porsche going to budge or hold to the “market price” that all the dealers are floating at?
Edit: Tips for my negotiation are appreciated. My last purchase was ‘21 at BMW. Kind of rusty in this department.
As I'm heading out of town, I've never had a number over 400 mi on my 4S!
Yes yes yes, I know that on the highway I'm not getting 400 mi, I just wanted to post the photo because I thought it was pretty cool.
Safe travels to all.
One cut tire. One week without a car. Is this the new "premium" EV experience? :car::x:
Last Sunday, a sharp curb during a quick turn into a parking lot in Castelrotto (Verona) completely cut the front tire of our new Macan EV. What should have been a standard roadside fix turned into a massive logistical breakdown:
1️. App Fail: My wife couldn't find the emergency assistance number anywhere in the MyPorsche App. It took 10+ phone calls just to get a tow truck. 2️. Zero Tools: The new Macan EV setup leaves you with absolutely nothing. No spare, no jack, no emergency kit to fix a sidewall cut. Completely stranded. 3️. The Logistical Nightmare: We were told towing it to Verona instead of our local Bergamo dealer would mean a "fast Monday fix." Fast forward nearly a week: the car is still sitting 100km away, unfixed. 4️. No Support: Porsche Bergamo refused to help bring the car closer or offer a courtesy car. Trying to manage a family of 4 with two active boys (10 and 12) using just our GTS coupe has been a nightmare.
Now we are looking at a €1,000 bill, a 4+ day wait just for a tire to be ordered (how are standard EV tires not in stock?!), and a 200km round trip just to go retrieve it.
I love Porsche, but for a next-gen luxury EV, the service chain and parts supply are completely broken.
I used to have my diamond button set to toggle regen on/off. After experimenting, I don’t see a reason to use automatic regen. With regen on, the car slows down regardless of whether it makes best sense, and then takes power to get back to speed. With regen off, I can choose to coast or use the brake pedal for “manual regen” as the situation dictates. My understanding is that braking is 100% regen at first, and only blends in mechanical braking only as you press harder. It might not be ideal for those who coast down 10 mile long hills and don’t want to sit on the brake pedal, or don’t want to have to think about it, but my range numbers are a little better and I prefer the increased control.
Am I missing something? What you have you found?
Hey guys, I currently have two Model Xs — one newer and one older.
I’m thinking about trading in the older one for a Porsche Macan EV and just keeping the newer X.
Be honest with me, is this a stupid idea? Also, how’s the Macan EV so far? Anyone here own one? Is it reliable or does it have a lot of issues?
Thanks!
Hi I want sportier rims on my new macan ev. How do I know what size is compatible for my car - 20,21,22? I was considering using tirerack to purchase new wheels. Also the tires are fine, I’d like to keep them but replace the rim.
They tried to fix one thing but broke two others. They reinstalled the firmware on a communications module because the phone button on the steering wheel was only working half the time. In the process, they somehow managed to change the speed warning chime to the one used in the Cayenne, and now Android Auto isn't working at all. Since wireless Android Auto requires the car's Wi-Fi hotspot to function, the connection fails because the hotspot has stopped working. We have tried connecting with multiple phones, but nothing works.
Any tips before we take the car back to service for what feels like the 10th time?
My GTS has delivery coming in July and I am exploring getting some PPF done. The dealership is giving me ceramic coating for very cheap so I am debating if I need to get the full body done.
What did you guys get on your Macan?
It's inevitable I know - either a scratch, a ding or a scraped rim on your precious new car. The first one always wounds the most. My 2 month old Macan Electric RWD suffered a ding the size of a dime near the charging port of all places. I don't really notice it tbh but how did that even happen? But the one I can't help but notice nearly every day is on the rear bumper. Trying to haul a heavy suitcase off the curb into the trunk a couple of days ago, I grazed the bumper. Has anyone any suggestions how to repair this without spending a small fortune? I know it is probably a body shop job and will cost thousands. The color unfortunately is Aventurine Green.
